Races

Wild Elves Example for Legon

The Variety of Races and Sub Races

The World of Legon only has 3 major races; Human, Elf and Dwarf. There is one minor race, being Goliath, and a unique race of Kenku. Each race has sub-races like Onyx Elves or Thoraxian Dwarves. Below is descriptions, added multipliers and bonus’s for each race and sub race. There are mixed races but there is a catch to it. Only human females can be impregnated by other races. A human male could never impregnate a Dwarf woman. In another words, human females are the universal egg recipient (for lack of better terms).

All of the bonuses are worked from Dungeons and Dragons 5e, anything listed is EXTRA. Read this page for reasons why it is limited to 3 races.

Lastly, this page always seems to be in flux and this time is no different. Below is not the end all be all for Races on Legon, at least not yet.

HUMAN

Common – +1 to all stats.
NOTES: Typical human physical traits. Not going into this race because it is as common as common can be. Exactly like 5th Edition.

Odius (Damned Human – Finster’s lineage) These are DnD5e Tieflings

NOTES: They have a page dedicated to them located here: ODIUS (or Tieflings) They should get a +1 on STR and a +1 on CON, but a -1 on CHR ontop of any of the other bonuses.

ELF

Common

NOTES: Common Elves range for men; 4’10” to 5’8″ and weigh in around 120-160. They are medium in build, some can be stocky. Have many of the same characteristics of men. For Women: 4’8″ to 5’6″ and weigh around 100-140. They are also medium build and have very close characteristics to human females. The “common” elf race, butter known as simply, ELVES, to their kind. We use Common to differentiate from Onyx and Augustian. They can live twice as long as a human. So for every year a Human lives, a Common Elf can live two. Their ears are pointed, but tend to not be as exaggerated as much as the other types of elves. Their eyes are always lighter in color and have more points to them. Their features are a bit more sharp, yet delicate, and their skin is always more smooth and clear.

There are 6 elf clans that the majority of common elves originate from: Elathana, Thallan, Lazziar, Ravanala, Yllayra & Vaalyun. Roughly from Little Bridge south, a good day and half horse ride south, and about 3-4 day horseride east to west is what they call the “clan lands.” At any given time there will be conflicts and what they call disputed lands.

Onyx (Dark)

NOTES: Onyx elves range from 5′ to 5’8″ tall and weigh in around 150-170. Both male and female are very close to the same. They are more slim than the Common Elf, but are also much more graceful. Their skin is usually void of most color, with a tinge of blue or green. Their eyes can range from human like to slits with glowing red iris’s. Their ears are much more profound, bigger and longer. Their features are sharper and pointed. They can live twice as long as a human. So for every year a Human lives, a Common Onyx Elf can live two. The Common Onyx elf has a good combination of features. Some Onyx elves called “The Paradime” are rumored to be direct ascendents from the great for fathers of this race. They have the glowing eyes, more muscular build, bigger ears, high intelligence and an Aura about them. There is a lesser species of Onyx, ones who do not mature properly. They are somewhat insane and they are caged in an area like they are animals. They are used for hunting, slavery and war. Essentially, they are no better than an animal according to the Onyx Elves. They should get an additional +1 CHR and a +1 INT on top of anything else they get as bonuses.

The Race of Augustian ElfAugustian (High)

NOTES: An elite race of elves. The males range from 5’10 – 6’2″ and weight in around 140-160. They are very slim, rarely have muscles. The women are close ranging from 5’8″ to 6’0″ tall and very thin and they almost glide when they walk. Their skin is of typical color but their eyes are always light colored and extremely pointed. Their ears are thin, and very long, wisp like. This race lives three times as long, so for every year a human lives an Augustian elf can live three. Augustian Elves are the smartest race on Legon. With that comes an air of superiority and ignorance. They are a closed race meaning they rarely mingle with the rest of the world. They should get an additional +1 CHR and +1 INT but a -1 CON on top of any other bonus they get.

There is sect of them, with untainted pure blood lines reaching back as far as the first Era. These individuals are called the Renrazzi. They are heralded by all Augustian elves, and they usually take up into Politics and such. Some buck the trend and dive into other careers, where they usually excel at.

There is however an Elven clan call Illume (pronounced ill-loom-may – Short for the Illuminated), who are Austian Elves who have been banned from their society. There has been a sect of Augustian Elves that do not abide by the rules of the Augustian traditions. They have been kicked out and they have formed their own society and culture that is much more relaxed in customs. They are called “the disbanded” by the Augustian Elves but everyone else calls them the “Woven.”

Wild (Wood)

NOTES: Descendants from the common Elf. Wild Elves range for men; 4’10” to 5’6″ and weigh in around 120-160. They are medium in build, almost always thin and muscular. For Women: 4’6″ to 5’2″ and weight around 100-140. Their skin is usually tanned and many times dirty. Their ears can be wide and small but still pointed. It is not uncommon to find a Wild Elf with unkept hair, dirty clothes and skin. Many times they are part of a clan, and congregate in a tree village or town. They are recluse by nature but some have been known to wander off. They do not trust many races, but are closest to the common elf, and its there they have the most trade and contact. If they originate from a clans they will have a hierarchy that includes a Chief. The majority of the Wild Elf Clans are peaceful but as of late, it has been chaotic. Currently their land is decimated by a huge war that has been going on for a year. The land for the wild elves range from heavy dense forest to swamp lands in the south. Common Elf clans tolerate them and allow them to be in their lands, the alternative would be war. The Wild Elf lives 50% longer than a human. So for every two years a human lives the Dwarf lives three. They usually get a -2 on INT and a +1 on DEX on top of anything else they may get.

DWARF

Common

NOTES: Male Dwarves are stereotypical to the Dwarf description except for their height. The men range from 4’6 – 5’2, weigh in around 180-220. They are stubborn, loud and obnoxious but are extremely loyal and hard workers. They are hairy, beards, eyebrows and the such, rarely trimmed. The women, though, are much more feminine then most lore elsewhere casts them. They range from 4′2 – 5’0 and weigh in around 120-160. They are still stout, but do not grow beards or have rough skin. Many times they have thick voluptuous girlish figures. They possess very good strength as do the men, but have a better CHR about them and a much better temperament. The Common Dwarf lives 50% longer than a human. So for every two years a human lives the Dwarf lives three.

Thoraxian Dwarf

NOTES: The Thoraxian Dwarf is the same as above but are always more intelligent, bigger by 2″ in height and usually stays about the same weight. The Thoraxian Dwarf lives 75% longer than a human. So for every three years a human lives the Dwarf lives five. They usually get an extra +1 for STR and +1 for CON above the usual upgrades they get.

Duergar Dwarves (Dirty Dwarves)

NOTES: The Dirty Dwarves are a part of the dwarven race that is shunned, and ignored. Became a subrace a few centuries ago when they started to populate the deep under ground, hovering above the underearth. They eventually evolved into a race of evil doers that have a chip on their shoulder; being shunned and exiled. The Dirty Dwarf lives about as long as a human does considering the filth and poverty they live in. They usually get an extra +1 for CON but get a -2 for CHR above the usual upgrades they get.

CROSS BREEDS

It is rare for half-breeds, and it is only under certain circumstances that they exist. Again, only the human female can birth a mixed baby. There are an influx of half orc babies about 25-30 years ago due to the Orc Wars (they raped human woman). A half dwarf is extremely uncommon due to the fact Dwarves and Humans rarely mix and it can only happen when the woman is the human.

Half Elf (Human – Onyx/Standard/Augustian/Wild)
Half-elves are the most common in mixed blood but still rare. Common elves being the highest, followed by Wild, Onyx and then Augustian.

Half Orc (Human/Orc)
All offspring born of this union is almost always out of violence and rape. There are a number of these people around the World of Legon, and you would notice them right away. In the campaign, Chance encounters one in (EP#

Half Dwarf (Human/Dwarf)
They are a possibility but the majority of the population has never encountered one.

Inter-Breed
This relates to say a Wild elf with a Common elf. It is rare but not unheard of. Reports of crazy mixes, like 18% Augustian Elf, 32% Human and 50% Onyx Elf. That would be Chance’s biological Twins.
