Metals of Legon

Unique Metals On Legon, Different Styles & New Ideas

Metals, weapons and armor for DnD and LegonApart from the standard Iron and Steel, there are unique types of metal that can be used for armor, weapons and pretty much anything else metals are used for. This ranges from the legendary Bluesteel from the mountains of Thorax, to ancient native metallurgy like Zhor Steel. This is a work in progress as we come up with different ones or the campaign dictates something new. Thanks to Todd B. for help compiling the list.

BLUESTEEL

(Thoraxian)
One of the hardest metals on Legon. Long ago Iron was found in the Thoraxian Mountains, that had extremely dense blue iron chunks in it. It seemed pretty plentiful. After a few go rounds with this new Ore, they found it to be almost twice as sturdy and a bit lighter than the average steel; when mixed with the proper carbon. It’s named for the slight blue shimmer the steel has when it is finished being made.
EXAMPLE: Chances professional bluesteel longsword that was given to him from Britney. Plugrs full plate is Bluesteel.
INGOT COST: 8 gp

SARSEN

(A metal of sorts from across the Evershimmer)
The metal / stone like product that is half metal and stone. Weapons made with this will have dual damage in both bludgeoning and piercing.
EXAMPLE: Sentinels from over the Ever-shimmer have huge double handed swords made of this metal. It can be devastating.
INGOT COST: STINK (unknown)

ORANGE DOMESTAR DIAMONDS

(Extremely rare)
Used to make legendary weaponry. Silent Fate is made of this.
EXAMPLE: Chances magical bastard sword is made from these diamonds. It looks like dark metal, but when it attunes to a character and used, it has an orange glow.
INGOT COST: 200 gp

SILVERTWILL STEEL

(Augustia)
Steel that has a certain heat point, that makes it 50% harder than normal steel, only has to use half the amount; thin armor. (Think knights tale). It is not special steel, just a special recipe.
EXAMPLE: They can buy normal steel ingots. The way it is forged is the uniqueness for it.
INGOT COST: 2 gp

IRONBARK

(Druidic)
A combination of the bark of a Gidgee Tree, that is combined with iron to produce a certain type of metal. It is used for weapons and armor. Much more armor, than anything. This combination helps keep the witch / druid connected to the earth. In many cases the armor, when forged and attuned correctly enhances not only the AC (+3) but can enhance certain types of spells and magic.
EXAMPLE: Talia, Plugrs daughter, has an armor she now uses that is Ironbark. It is a way for the druid / witch to connect to nature at all times.
INGOT: 1 gp + Conjuration, attunement and training.

MOURNLODE

(Dwarven origin)
A purple tinted metal that is a combination of Brass and Bluesteel creating the purple damascus patterned metal. About 50% stronger than the average steel. It was originally created to save on using so much bluesteel.
EXAMPLE: Door latches, hinges, nails, pots, pans, stoves, etc. They are very expensive, but would of been twice as expensive if not combined.
INGOT:8 gp

ZHOR STEEL

(Ancient style)
A pewter based metal that is ultra-heated and it removes most of the color from the metal. Originally created by people living in or around the Sands of Zhor, because it was so abundant in and around the desert.
EXAMPLE: They would make weapons and armor with this.
INGOT: 6 gp
