Locations – Cities

Area, Cities, Towns and Places Around The World Of Legon

Locations of interest, and ones that the current major campaign has visited or knows about. This is only the Cities, and they are defined, per Legon, as (bolded is what this page will list):

  • under 7,500 – Look in Town, Villages & Hamlets
  • 7,501–25,000 Small city
  • 25,001–50,000 Large city
  • 50,001+ Metropolis

Somethings to think about; Population is general idea of how many people live there. Even though this is how I do it, listing a location with 4,987 people is a bit to exact (it is the only way I felt it would work the best). Why? Because everyday someone dies, moves out, give birth, moves in, etc. Are you going to update it everyday of the campaign? Even though the number seems exact, it is like a census that is a general idea. The mix is split between three races because there are only three major races on Legon. Government is a bit difficult to nail down, but I am going to try and give each location a good idea of how it is run. Commerce is about what players can get in the location, generally speaking. Is it barebones, maybe rations and some horseshoes or wide varieties and rare items along with everything else the realm has to offer.

This is still a bit in disarray. I have a lot to add to the “Interesting People” and “Interesting Places.” But it is near complete; if the campaign has mentioned it or has visited the location, it should be on one of the three pages – Cities, Towns and Villages & Unique Locations.

The largest City in the known realm. Home to the Onyx Elves and the Capitol of their Kingdom. It also has the largest Academy, so far, in all the land. Butted up against the Thundrad Mountains in the Northwest.

The largest City in the East and the second biggest city in the known world. The actual landscape would be half of NYC in comparison. It is the capital for the Augustian people, who are know as High Elves.

  • Camerondale

Location: Middle Eastern Legon - Kingdom of Camerondale
    Population: Metropolis - 295,000 (80% Human, 15% Elf, 5% Dwarf)
Government: Monarchy. King Bozutto, Queen Affinity and the rest. Land Barons rule over other lands, answering to Cassandra.
Commerce: Nearly any sort of goods or services can be found here, legal and otherwise. The high volume of travelers means that there are plentiful inns, taverns, underground markets, and rare auctions.

Second Largest city in the east. Capitol of the Kingdom of Camerondale. On the eastern shores, the city is protected with 20 ft+ walls and countless towers. The city is built with a slight incline allowing water to run back down to the water. It has a massive water / sewer system rigged. The inside walls are 15ft that house the master castle and many other elite and rich locations.

Chance has lived in this Metropolis, and only lives 2 minutes from it.

    Castle Camerondale

Originally a strong hold in the center of a peninsula, surrounded by make shift rock, wood and mortar walls. It fended off many attack from the Northern enemies like Rockford. About 40 years ago, it was rebuilt using many of the same stones deeper on the peninsula, and then surrounded again by another wall of protection. It sits about 30 feet above sea level as the massive city is built with a gradient. From the shore to the western part of the city it slowly rises. This allows run offs and the chance of flooding reduced greatly. Not only that it puts the castle high above the ground, against a sheer drop off, adding to its protection.

Inside the huge structure is a large entrance room, the throne room, a magnificent ball room (that was built off it about 20 years ago), large kitchens, a complete wing for the royal party, and an underground corridor system that houses many of their servants.

In the back is the famous Royal Gardens that has the most exotic and unique flora in most of Camerondale. It also has a wonderful gazebo area for small gatherings and luncheons. On the opposite side is the training area where many of the upper echelon has a facility to train. Then behind that is pond.

    Black Ward

A unique faction of the Camerondale Army and Guards. You can compare it to the CIA or the FBI. The members of this group are the top tier of warriors, witches, thinkers and management. It is something most guards of the realm dream about becoming.

Government: Unknown. This Area and City has been under siege.
Commerce: Basic sundries, some uncommon items, has a wider variety of goods for the three main races.

This area of Legon has been “wild” for decades. It sat dormant for quite some time but it is only recently it has become active. By active I mean violent with insurgents and groups of people trying to overthrow the biggest city in the area.
