EP#83 The Lockdown

The Lockdown banner
DMaster: You are looking right at IKON, he lifts his hand up and (SNAP) Your eyes open, you are laying in a bed, covered, the room is dim and you are a wee bit chilly

Chance: Look around to see if I can figure out just where I am

Shuttered window of roomDMaster: From what you can tell its a 20 ft x 10 ft room, longer than it is wide. First thing you notice is the smell of dust and some mildew. Makes you think it could be an older room. To your right is a window with some shutters closed, a ray or two of light peeking in. Straight ahead it looks like a large curtain drawn across the room, could make the room longer than 20 feet. To your left is a wall, the bed is pinned in the corner. No real decorations, seems somewhat unkept with a few cobwebs.

Chance: I will get out of the bed and pull the shutters open

DMaster: Before you get completely up, you wheel around put your feet out, you can hear voices beyond the pulled curtain.

Chance: Hold off getting up (heh heh). Curiosity gets the best of me and I sneak towards the pulled curtain, listening to the voices

DMaster: DM: Todd rolls a 18 stealth, success. You do not think anyone heard you. It is a man and a woman, heavy accent but speaking common.
MAN: I don’t like this, when was the last time we had a Popnjay?
WOMAN: Now, now, we shouldn’t call him that, I am not even sure what it means really. But, it doesn’t matter, we have to take care of him.
The man grumbles, seems to have taken a drink, puts the mug down (from what you can hear)
MAN: Then what? We have nothing to go on…
WOMAN: Well, we have the manuscript, I know it has been a few years since it has been used.

Chance: I will see if I can look around without getting caught

DMaster: Doubtful, sounds like they are 5-10 feet right in front of the curtain.
MAN: A few years?!? (quietly)

Chance: Stay still and keep listening to what they are talking about still trying to figure out what is going on

DMaster: WOMAN: OK, a few decades perhaps. We will have to judge his…
MAN: killer instinct?
WOMAN: Grobell, stop. He is our guest. This is our duty. Why don’t you go check on him, he has been asleep for half the day it seems.

Chance: sneak back to the bed and crawl in quietly making it look like I am just waking up

DMaster: DM: Todd rolled a 21 on stealth. You practically glide across the floor, slip under the cover and you are now stretching as an old dwarf man peeks around the curtain

Chance: give the old dwarf a look as I am stretching

DMaster: He glances back
GRO: Oh, he’s awake,
His voice half excited, half frightened.

Gilvora - a Hill Dwarf WOmanChance: Sitting up
Chan: and just where am I?

DMaster: A woman pulls the curtain away, and you can see both of them are older Dwarven people

Chance: Giving them both an inquisitive look with a small smile

DMaster: The woman returns the smile, the man seems to hover in the back looking you over.
WOMAN: Dangarum, my dear, you are in the mountain village of Dangarum
She walks over, stands bedside, hands crossed in front of her. Wearing a simple working attire, tougher fabric clothing. A few pockets in the front, tied in the middle, a soft green color with a few wear and tears on the fabric. She has a soft and warm face, notice they do not seem as hard edged as a Thoraxian dwarf. They speak with a heavy accent and seem to be friendly.

Chance: Chan: And just how did I get here? Last thing I remember was…
Pausing a moment, remembering.

Grobell husband of the Hill Dwarf womanDMaster: A soft warm smile across the woman’s face.
WOMAN: My name is Gilvora, behind me cowering in the back is Grobell.
The man’s eyes light up.
GRO: I am not cowering, I am… observing and taking notes.
GIL: Yes, with a magical paper and quill I see…
He gets all flustered looking around. She turns back to you.
GIL: How did you get here? We do not know. But you are our honored guest.

Chance: Chan: well, anywhere you could fill in the gaps would help, and thank you, I think.
Still smiling at the dwarven woman
Chan: You have a different look to you, than a normal dwarf.

DMaster: Eyes get big and a smile.
GIL: Normal. Dwarf?
She chuckles.
GIL: We are Hill Dwarves. So I suppose we are different than normal dwarves.
The man steps forward, puffing out his chest.
GRO: Maybe those Dwarves are different from us instead, hmph!
Looks away, proud of his statement. Gilvora gives you a soft playful look and slow shake of the head.
GIL: We will wait outside, I am sure you are hungry, get changed if you need to. You slept all through the night.

Chance: Nod my head and smile
Chan: I couldn’t agree more, some real food would be nice (d)
Saying it in Dwarven. To judge their reactions

DMaster: It didn’t seem to affect them. The man scoots by, wide eyes. The woman swats him one, then they walk out, close the door. They start to talk when the door closes.

Chance: Looking around the room see if my weapons and the armor I was given is still with me

DMaster: Everything is under the cot you were sleeping in. Armor, weapons, a small backpack.

Chance: A smile goes to my face seeing everything here, check for the dumb crystals.

DMaster: You rummage around and find the silken bag, with the 5 crystals in it. They are a deep red, and not exactly shaped in any particular form. Though they are beautiful and have a bit of weight to them. There are a few other things in there but you are somewhat in a hurry.

Chance: Figure I shouldn’t keep my hosts waiting I will get dressed, if I have too. Making it a point to grab the dagger Inasatra gave me. Thinking to myself; I am still quite unsure of how to feel about my hosts. Make my way out of the room.

Mountain range outside the hutDMaster: Bright light, and you cover your face a bit. Straight ahead is what seems to be a mountain range, a path going from your left to your right. Your two hosts are standing on the side of the road looking back at you. The first time you have seen the above ground in weeks, and it is a welcome and beautiful site.

Chance: I will keep my face covered until I get use to the light as I get closer to my two hosts

DMaster: Down the path you can see the village, it is gorgeous. Old rustic buildings with tons of character, a waterfall pouring down in between what seems to be a village square and market place. This hut seemed to be off the beaten path, so to speak, a good 50 feet from the edge of this village. You watch as a few dwarves going about their business. Most stop and stare at you, wondering what the hell is going on.

Chance: Get to them.
Chan: So I have to ask, how far am I from Thoraxe?

DMaster: The woman looks at the man, and the man seems uncertain. The woman nudges him hard and he gives her an annoyed look
GRO: To the Capital City? Day and a half, maybe two with a good horse.

The small village Hill DwarfChance: Grumble under my breath
Chan: so perhaps after I eat you can explain to me just how I arrived here?

DMaster: The two exchange glances and soft smiles, beckons you on
GIL: As I said before, we don’t know. You just appeared in the hut and we are sworn to take care of you.
They are a short lot, can’t be taller than 4 feet tall. They seem more, round, than the average dwarf too. A few of the townsfolk stop and stare at you, look a bit scared with you carrying the armor on your side, weapons and the like. In the distance you see a bunch of children playing some game, they are running around and laughing. The sound of the waterfall is wonderful, birds chirping, the sun just peeking over a mountain ridge, the sky is blue and there are a few puffy clouds about.

Chance: Take a deep breath. The moment I see the children it makes me think of the twins and a small smile goes to my face
Chan: I must say, at least I ended up somewhere beautiful.

DMaster: They guide you to a house, and you can literally see the roof tiles, the doorway is maybe a shade past 4 feet high.
GIL: Sorry, you will have to duck

Chance: Nod my head and duck down as I enter the home

The fireplace in the hutDMaster: They guide you to a bench that groans under your weight and she is checking the stew at the fire. It’s a pretty nice temperature right now, the fire is a nice touch.

Chance: stare at the fire thinking about what I experienced in the under earth, to how I got here.

DMaster: You get some flashbacks of demons and torture, you shutter and stop looking. After a few, they serve you a bowl of hot stew, some fresh bread. She gives you the stirring spoon, because their spoon was a bit small.

Chance: Giggle a bit looking at the spoon as I take a bit of the stew

DMaster: It’s amazing. Even though it’s probably the only real food you have had since Volca’s breakfast a week or so ago, it is outstanding. They have a small mug of water too, you dip the bread, eat and it is wonderful.

Chance: I will take my time to savor the food since it is the most real food I have had in awhile, and slowly drink the water since it isn’t hot water. A big smile going to my face
Chan: Thank you for keeping watch over me, making sure I was okay

DMaster: GIL: ’tis our duty sire.
You all have finished. The man is clearing the table, nodding his head.

Chance: Chan: Your duty? What do you mean by that, your duty?
looking over at them now getting serious

DMaster: She smiles.
GIL: Generation to generation our village has been tasked with keeping an eye on that hut you woke up in. I am unsure the origins of it. Every year we have a festival that honors this tradition. One family is tasked with keeping an eye on the hut for a year. This, was our year.
She glances over to her, what you presume is, husband who is leaning on the door frame, arms folded. Soft smile and nod to his wife. Pauses to think, then continues.
GIL: We check once a day at sunken sun, to see if anyone is in the bed. Yesterday, we found you. We watch over you until you are awake and ready to go.

Chance: Raise one eyebrow.
Chan: So when was the last time someone came out of that building?

DMaster: She glances at the man and he shrugs his shoulders.
GIL: We do not know. When I was a wee lass, I remember something happening in the hut, but since then. Not a thing.

Chance: rubbing chin thinking
Chan: last thing I remember was talking to someone, they snapped their fingers and I end up here
Trying not to give away a lot of information

DMaster: They glance at each other, shrug their shoulders

Chance: Chan: As much as I could just stay here for awhile, I should prepare for a long journey ahead.

DMaster: She smiles a bit, the man nods his head and leaves

Chance: Chan: I don’t suppose you have a spare horse of my size I could possibly borrow?

DMaster: She smiles standing up from her chair,
GIL: No, afraid not. There are a few other things we have to discuss. A good time to leave could be at lights first dawn, tomorrow morning, if that is acceptable?

Chance: Chan: I suppose a little while longer isn’t going to hurt, but at first light I must be on my way.

DMaster: she nods, gets up, grabs a book, leafs through it. Sits back down
GIL: I just have to ask you a few questions. That way we can gauge your level.

Chance: Scrunch forehead
Chan: uhh, level? Level of what?

DMaster: She pauses a moment and taps her finger to her chin.
GIL: Level of exposure, that is the best way I can describe it.
Looks down to the book, then back to you.
GIL: So you made your way through the fires of Ardor correct?

Chance: my head snaps to her, eyes wide.
Chan: How did you know that?

DMaster: She smiles again,
GIL: To make it to that hut, you must have been in Godhaven. Which means…

Chance: Eyes turn a little to slits.
Chan: Which means what? If you are referring to, if I met Ikon, then yes I did

DMaster: She raises an eyebrow, looks confused
GIL: No, I do not know who this Ikon is. But our sacred traditions and testaments tell us that the road to Godhaven goes through the fires of Ardor.

Chance: Nod head.
Chan: well, you can say it was a long road.
Giving her a look
Chan: not a trip I would recommend to anyone in their right mind.

DMaster: She smirks. Looks through the book.
GIL: I just have a few questions for you

Chance: chuckle a bit at how absurd that statement sounded
Chan: I suppose I have time to answer questions

DMaster: She squints looking into a book.
GIL: During your time in the fires, can you recall a name of a demon?
she looks up to you

Chance: Eyes big, nodding head.
Chance: Which one do you want the name of?
Giving her a look

DMaster: You are getting flash backs, assaulting you. Torture, horrific nightmares, all different Demons. You snap back and shake your head. Her eyes get a bit bigger, hearing that and watching you.
GIL: How many do you think you can name?

Chance: Chan: quite a few, if my memory can recall. Monarch Xoruk, Zeramed, Zannonoz, Amaranth, Taemmoanth, Gozillak…
Think for a bit longer.
Chan: I think that was all, some I don’t think I got their name.

DMaster: A look of worry washes over her face, huge eyes.
GIL: How long were you down in the fires? If you could estimate?

Chance: Chan: of that I am not sure, I mean I did have to deal with a little imp torturing me. That is until I tore his head clean off his body
chuckling a bit, then realizing the company.

DMaster: Her eyes are huge staring at you.

Chance: Chan: anyways, 4 days maybe 5 I am not sure.

DMaster: She nods her head, closes the book. Then takes the book, puts it on a shelf.
GIL: Sire, you were down there far too long.

Chance: Nod head in agreement.
Chan: not a journey I would ever really want to make again even to get to godhaven, as beautiful as it was

DMaster: GIL: Our teachings and our traditions tell us we need to make sure you are safe.

Chance: Slowly look over to her.
Chan: Safe?

DMaster: She nods her head.
GIL: Being in the fires can change a person. We want to make sure you move forward with a love and light in your heart. To prepare you should get some rest. Grobell will take you back to the hut for a nap.

Chance: look at her, sigh and then nod my head
Chan: I will see you at dinner then? That stew was to die for.

DMaster: She smiles wide in appreciation, but doesn’t give you any indication.

Chance: Follow the man to the hut.

DMaster: He guides you in, hands you a skin of water. You lay down, toss and turn. You were feeling tired, and you are trying to stay awake, but you fall asleep. Then you wake up; three Imps, are dragging you along a lava pit. Daggers getting jammed into your stomach.

Chance: try grabbing for the imps

DMaster: They are just out of reach. You look up, the Monarch is standing over you, speaking in a demonic language, you feel your skin burning off

Chance: Thinking to myself if this is a dream or nightmare regardless, I am going to champ form to heal myself

Hut just outside the villageDMaster: Your eyes pop open and you are back in the hut. You are tied down. A few dwarves next to you, in some makeshift armor, the woman dwarf looking on with a concerned face. You are drenched in sweat, looks like you did a number on the cot, it is leaning a bit and part of it is across the room.

Chance: sigh and look at her
Chan: I apologize for the furniture, I must have been having a nightmare

DMaster: She nods her head.

Chance: Chan: I guess I should get used to having the nightmares, huh?

DMaster: She slowly shakes her head.
GIL: Oh hun, no. That is what we are here for. To help you, protect you and to make sure it won’t destroy you.

Chance: Eyes a bit big and sigh.
Chan: it should be my burden to bear, not yours, to have to take care of me

DMaster: She smiles
GIL: Aye, it could, but do you know how to? Did they tell you what to do in the fires after you left?
The two dwarves in makeshift armor glance at each other nervously.
GIL: Of course they didn’t. That is what we are trying to do. Help you.
They reluctantly untie you
GIL: Lets get you to the bath, it is almost time. Our guest has arrived.

Chance: sigh and look back up
Chan: yes maybe that bath will help me. A guest?

DMaster: She nods and walks out. You make your way out and it is pitch dark, Not sure what time, maybe 10-11 at night

Chance: Mumble: So much for dinner.
Make my way to where the bath was set up for me

DMaster: You walk through the streets of the town. It is empty, but you see lights on in houses, smoke billowing out chimneys, some sounds of laughter in a few, talking in others. It is pretty cool out, so you shiver a bit.

Chance: feeling the coolness even though I am shivering a bit, a smile goes to my face, as I make my way through town

A Shimmering Pool they bathe inDMaster: You can hear crickets, the sound of the waterfall getting close. You are guided into a cave entrance of sorts, for once you didn’t have to duck. you are under the waterfall, a large stone above you protecting you from the water. You make it to the other side, in a large pond of water that seems to be shimmering.

Chance: my eyes go big seeing this

DMaster: With your dark vision you can see a small cave, it has a candle lit. Someone is stirring at the table inside. By the makeshift entrance to the pool, there is a towel, a basket of things.

Chance: take off my armor and strip down, put my clothes and armor next to the weapons and look into the basket

DMaster: You were not wearing your armor. From the cave another woman walks out. She is hooded, carries a few things.
HOOD: Is this the one you spoke of Gilvora? Oh dear, he is a big one isn’t he
Gilvora smiles and nods. Glances to you.
GIL: Yes, he is. Named multiple Demons, was down in the fires for over 4 days.
You notice the reaction of the hooded woman, it was of shock.
HOOD: Not many people make it one day there, let alone 4, tall one. Knowing the names of Demons, means you heavily interacted with them too.

Chance: Shake head, shiver a bit.
Chan: Yeah, I got a date with one for Ale and knucklebones….

DMaster: A smirk forms under the hood.
HOOD: Sense a humor still. You are a strong one.
The dwarf who was taking care of you looks to you, nods her head.
GIL: I shall take my leave then. It was nice to have met you Sire

Chance: Nod head back.
Chan: Nice to meet you too Gilvora. Say goodbye to your husband for me?

DMaster: She smiles real wide, nods in acknowledgement and leaves.
HOOD: So, is there anything I should know before we start the Lockdown ritual?

Chance: Raise an eyebrow
Chan: Uhhh, lockdown?

DMaster: Nodding her head.
HOOD: No doubt you are having flashbacks of the fire, nightmares, a growing uneasiness.

Chance: Nod head.

DMaster: HOOD: This is to assist you with those… memories.
Now finish undressing and get in the pool please.

Chance: feeling my face flush a bit, clearing my throat. Take off my pants.
Chan: can you at least turn around so as not to see my inchworm?

Shalaevar Vaven Priestess of AnimaxDMaster: She takes down her hood and it is an elf. She is giving you a “really?” look.
HOOD: My name is Shalaevar Vaven, High Priestess of Animax.

Chance: Chan: uhh, me and Animax, we don’t exactly get along.
nod my head and smile, face still flushed
Chan: Oh, and my name is Chance Axion

DMaster: She tilts her head a bit.
SHA: Don’t get along with Animax?

Chance: Turn a bit to Champion for her to see.

DMaster: Her eyes bulge a little, and you hear a snort.
SHA: Well, I do not think it will matter too much, but if you end in discomfort let me know. Now, Chance get in.
She points to the water that seems to have a shimmer to it

Chance: Just great, going to get blessed by Animax? I guess it doesn’t matter much, Finster is tight with him right now.

DMaster: The water is freezing, but you don’t seem to “feel” it. She stands at the “entrance” of the pool, it is now up to your waist

Chance: While I am standing there, I will look into the water to see if I can see a reflection of myself. To see if anything has changed on me with my little journey

DMaster: Hard to tell. She takes off her robe and she is naked.

Chance: I instantly turn around not looking

DMaster: You hear the water splash.
SHA: It has been a, well, few years, since I had to perform this

Chance: Chan: perform what, if I may ask?

DMaster: She grabs your shoulders and turns you to her. She is squinting at you.
SHA: You are shielded, I can’t get a read on you.
Turns your head one way and sees the symbol on my neck.
SHA: Interesting. Good work here. You will have to get it done again, this can’t be on you for the ritual.

Chance: Chan: Uh, can I get a say in this, that is very important to me…

DMaster: She shakes her head. Puts her hand on your neck and takes it off. You didn’t feel a thing, and you don’t feel any different. She takes your hands.
SHA: Talk to me, what is the first thing you remember in the fires?

Chance: A little angry, give her a look. I begin describing it to her.

DMaster: As you speak she is pouring this liquid into the pool, making the water turn almost silver. The elf nods as you speak, she turns you away from her. At this point it seems she is cleaning you. You are slowly explaining things and she is murmuring a few words in ancient elven.
SHA: What was the best thing to happen to you down there?

Chance: Chan: well besides the armor, I guess making it to Godhaven, what I saw before, I really wouldn’t…

DMaster: SHA: No. Stay focused.
She is washing your front with this stuff that seems to have a glitter and glow to it
SHA: What was the worst thing that happened?

Chance: Chan: well the torture and the nightmares, as I said no one should have to endure that

DMaster: Your shaking thinking of them, you get flashes of the fire, lava, demons, pain, watching your skin getting peeled off

Chance: Turn again so she can’t see me shaking

DMaster: The thoughts of hell are consuming you right now, you can’t seem to stop them; coming at you fast and hard

Chance: Chan: I just want all of it to go away and to be with my family
Feeling tears flow down my cheek

DMaster: you are shaking, tears flowing.

DMaster: Khamyra’s voice comes from behind you
KHA: My love

Chances Wife and Love - KhamyraChance: My head snaps to the voice

DMaster: You see your wife, your love. She is standing in the pool. Eyes welling up. Her hand to your cheek

Chance: Chan: Khamyra, how? That can’t be you?

DMaster: She puts her finger to your lips
KHA: shhhhh, you have been through so much. It will eat away at you. It’s time to put them to rest, it is time we lock it away. Will you allow me to do that for you?

Chance: Tears streaming down my face I nod my head.
Chan: Yes, I need it gone, I don’t want to remember the fires

DMaster: Khamyra nods

Chance: feel myself losing it

DMaster: KHA: I will be the only one you can talk to about them. If you speak to others, the memories could come loose and I can’t help you then. So, my dear Chance. Keep them locked down, and you will be just fine.

Chance: Chan: I know you aren’t really here my love, but can I just hold you for a moment until I am truly home
as the tears are still flowing down my face

DMaster: You kiss, and she buries herself into you and you embrace her. The thoughts, the idea, the pain of the fires are fading away

Chance: force the tears back and then look up, knowing I have to get through this

The Next Day 6:00 AM

DMaster: You are deep in the moment. You are feeling better and better, then suddenly you open your eyes. Warm, under a blanket in that hut again

Chance: Are my clothes on?

DMaster: Your make shift under clothing, yes. Armor leaning against the wall, as your weapons are too. The curtain is open, no one around that you can tell. Just a hint of soft light peeking through the shuttered window.

Chance: look outside the window to see if I can tell what time it is

DMaster: You pull a shutter open, look. You can see a pink hue along the horizon. Seems to be the first dawn of light

Hill Dwarf GuardsChance: I start putting on my armor and my weapons where they need to go. Rub chin, I did say I wanted to leave at first light. Go see if I can find the couple before leaving

DMaster: You walk out and there are two guards stationed there, not that you couldn’t wipe the floor with them, but they nod and point to your left
GUARD: Thoraxe is that way (d)
Said in Dwarven. The other guard hands you a sack, and your small backpack.

Chance: Chan: thank you, I am sorry I caused so much trouble
take the sack and backpack, smile looking at the guards

DMaster: They shrug their shoulders and walk off

Chance: Take one more look at this little town and smile. Dip my head and give a little thanks, before I start walking

DMaster: DM: Condensing. You head out, after getting your armor on. The helm latches to the armor, forged right in the side. Very easy to grab and put on, take off and latch. you are walking along, almost exhausting from not slipping and tumbling forward. You walk for 4 hours, stop eats a ration, drinks some water, takes a leak on a poor unsuspecting rock. Continuing he gets an idea, and turns into his Champion form, doubling his speed. There were a few sketchy parts, sliding a bit but for the most part it worked. The path levels off for a good 500-600 feet, turns and it narrows quite a bit, making it a small valley of sorts. Directly in front is a huge boulder that seems to be jammed into the valley, blocking the way.

Chance: Looking around the valley up the walls, to see if anything is looking down at me

DMaster: Nope except the sun, which feels glorious

Chance: careful climb up the rock if I can, to get up on top of it

DMaster: DM: Todd rolls a 16 on athletics. Makes it.
you slide once but make it to the top, you look out, and you see a makeshift wall of Dwarven construction, in what seems to be an opened area

Chance: carefully climb down the rock and head towards the wall stealthily

DMaster: You can see some horses tied up, big buckets next to them, a black one is bobbing its head around making a noise.

Chance: eyes get big seeing the horse making sure my eyes aren’t deceiving me. I will slowly make my way towards the horse

DMaster: it neighs, it recognizes you. It’s Toby. Then you see Talia’s horse too.

Chance: pat him and start laughing, thinking to myself if this is a dream don’t let me wake up

DMaster: In the distance you can see a patrol of guards, looks to be doing there usual thing, most definitely dwarves. They have not seen you, at least not yet.

Chance: give Toby another Pat before making my way forward towards the cavern doors. I will take off my helm so if their are guards there they will recognize me

DMaster: DM: Condensing, took mr. Chance 10 minutes to figure out he should just knock on the door. Goofball. You were not wearing your helm, and there is no guard at the door. Just a large, locked double door. Eventually you knock on the door. With a sack in hand, a small backpack across your shoulder. After a minute a dwarf opens and looks at you, he recognizes you. Then his eyes bulge. He lets you in and through the portcullis.

Chance: Make my way through, can’t help but have a smile on my face

Volca the OdiusDMaster: The main room is almost empty. Volca looks up and a huge smile goes across her face, she waddles fast across the floor

Chance: A chuckle comes from me watching her waddle across the floor coming at me

DMaster: You two warrior shake, talking quiet.
VOL: I knew you’d make it, I fucking knew it. But, why are you coming from the front entrance?
She glances back at the jailed off area and then back to you.

Chance: Give her a stern look and shake my head. Look around.
Chan: So where is the rest of the group?

DMaster: VOL: They went to sleep a few hours ago, they are all still messed up with time and they are pretty wired, waiting for you. You know what? come, let’s cook them some breakfast!
Still talking in lower tones.

Chance: Chan: yes, let’s give them the surprise of their life right?
Can’t help but smile at Volca

DMaster: DM: Condensing. You cook breakfast, an elaborate spread. Took about an hour. The two of you come up with the idea that you will walk in, head dipped with the biscuits, which is Volca’s specialty.

Chance: Chan: You give the signal when to come in and I will

DMaster: She nods,
VOL: Won’t take long, they love their biscuits.

Chance: Can’t help but contain a little giggle.

DMaster: It is quiet, everything just about done, she glances over.
VOL: So want to talk about it?

Chance: Just clench my jaw and shake my head.
Chan: Not… now. Maybe ever.
looking away from her

DMaster: She puts her hand on your shoulder, nodding her head.
VOL: Understood.
She talks about the few encounters they had
VOL: Can you at least tell me how the hell you made it to the outside? Another breach? what??

Chance: Chan: I have to have a few secrets now don’t I?
Giving her a grin
Chan: maybe someday, I will actually tell you all about it. But now let’s surprise the group shall we before I just run in and wake them all up

DMaster: You two set up the table, Demi makes her way out first as you are spying out the door. Her eyes light up looking at the spread. You hear Volca stick her head in the other door, wake everyone up.
VOL: Get up you lazy sods!

Chance: keep spying from the door, covering my mouth and watching

DMaster: they start to pile out, all but Talia. Talia is the only one not out. You hear Volca
VOL: Come on Tal, food is ready!
A muffled
TAL: Not hungry.
Comes out, you barely heard it.

Chance: Shaking my head thinking to myself she needs to stop moping now

Sincere looking for biscuitsDMaster: Volca shuts the door and walks to the table, and as if on cue
SIN: Where are your famous biscuits?
The Odius puts a finger to her mouth as to say shhhh.
VOL: Be quiet, ok?
They all look at her odd.

Chance: Grab the biscuits on the plate and come out the door with my head dipped down a bit

DMaster: They all glance over and they know it’s you
VOL: Quiet now,
Before you know it Luella is slamming into you, tears in her eyes. Demi is stunned just staring at you from across the room. Sincere has the biggest smile on his face, and Inasatra has a sly smirk on her face, turning into a smile.

Chance: hug her back wipe the tears from Lue Lue’s eyes, nod at everyone and get them to sit

DMaster: Not before Sincere gives you a big warriors handshake, Demi is still in some sort of disbelief but gives you a hearty handshake. Inasatra, crossed arms, nods to you, almost a proud look on her face.

Chance: Nod back at her before walking to the door where I know Talia is. Clear my throat as I open the door

DMaster: Everyone looking on
TAL: Get bent! Can you not speak common? Not hungry!
She yells pretty loud, a bag of sorts gets thrown at the door. Lands at your feet.

Chance: Chan: you mean you don’t want to eat, even with me?
Just standing in the doorway

DMaster: some soft giggles behind you
TAL: No!
What appears to be a sock landing on your head now, that she threw.

Chance: Grab the sock, smell it
Chan: Damn, that smells. But I can see how much you care about your Bro then…
Chuckling

DMaster: She sits up, some light hits her eyes, you see the reflection. Her hair all over, an angry scowl on her face.

Chance: Chan: If you are going to throw anything more, at least warn me before the wind-up

Talia losing it seeing short tipsDMaster: Her eyes growing ever bigger.
TAL: Uhh, what? Volca, if you are fucking with me I am going to finish that little shave I gave you earlier
She slides out of bed reluctantly.

Chance: Chan: Didn’t realize Volca needed a shave, interesting.
Giving her a look

DMaster: Her eyes bulge, you see instant tears she begins to shake. You can tell she looks exhausted, has not slept in days.
TAL: Short tips?
She races and practically tackles you

Chance: Embrace her.
Chan: who else would it be?

DMaster: Everyone behind you smiles real wide

Chance: Take the tackle full on and start laughing, feeling my eyes tear up as well
Chan: didn’t think you got rid of me that easily now did you?
Trying to control my emotions.

DMaster: She isn’t saying a word, she is in a full blown ball, hugging really tight. Then she backs up real quick
TAL: Oh, you smell good, like, lavender
She looks up to you with her tears streaked face, red eyes

Chance: Smile at the absurd statement, then laugh.

DMaster: The room behind you starts to laugh and even clap a little.

Chance: Chan: no more crying Sis, I am back. Come come, me and Volca made breakfast for you all

DMaster: She is walking with you, taking slobbery breath’s, trying to get herself under control. Then looks up.
TAL: I didn’t hear the underearth gates open or close, I know, I was wide awake.
VOL: Came through the front door like an unwanted in-law
The group chuckles, she gives you a wild look

Chance: Chan: yeah, that in law you don’t wanna see
chuckling

DMaster: A few more hugs, a cheer or two and everyone starts to dig in and it was a wonderful breakfast. Talia broke down another time, looking over to you, but recovered. She is glued to your side right now

Chance: Look over at her and smile
Chan: thank you for listening and not coming for me Talia

DMaster: She stops eating, looks a little innocent, then nods. A few smirks among the group.

Chance: Chan: Talia, why do I get a feeling you wanted to try though?
Giving her a look
Chan: no, no, don’t answer that, never change
Giving her a big hug

DMaster: She hugs back. The breakfast was a big hit, some stories exchange about fighting, Luella ripping a dog a new one and how long it took for them to lose the “ringing” in their head from the hiss

Demi talking with ChanceChance: Chan: we should finish up here and head back as soon as we can, I am sure we have been away for far too long

DMaster: They nod their head.
DEM: Yeah, I hope that we are not going to be too late for Hillside, guess we are going to have to ride hard or they will have to fight them off on their own.
SIN: Yeah, they said what 2 or 3 weeks, it’s been that now and we haven’t even started back yet

Chance: Smirk.
Chan: I don’t think we have to worry about that anymore.
Giving the group a look as I get up from the bench

DMaster: They all exchange looks and then back to you
EVERYONE: Oh?

Chance keeping things locked downChance: Clench my jaw, look to everyone.
Chan: I would love to tell you, but things happened down there. I just…
Turn away, bury those memories deep.
Chan: just know, Hillside is safe right now.
Get myself under control.

DMaster: Talia stands up and holds your hand, a wave of worry washing over her face. Everyone exchanges glances.
DEM: All due respect Chance, the whole idea of this quest was to…
Inasatra clears her throat seeing how red your face is getting. Demi nods and stops talking.

Chance: nod my head
Chan: Just know. It has been taken care of. One day I might be able to tell you, but right now… I just… I just…
Tears well up a little.

DMaster: Talia hugs you.
TAL: It’s ok Short tips. I imagine you went through a lot. Lets just focus on the tasks at hand.
Everyone is finishing up and it is now past sunken sun
DEM: Leave at cry time, Chance?

Chance: Chan: I think we should Demi, the quicker we get back the better. Let everyone get some rest since it was an emotional time for all
Looking at Demi, move to her and put my hand on her shoulder
Chan: thank you for being here for them as well.
Say that with a softer tone and a big smile.

DMaster: She smiles and nods, putting her hand on your shoulder
DEM: That’s what I am here for Champ
Volca is cleaning up with the help of Sincere
VOL: Send a sparrow, let them know you are ok and heading back. She hands you a thin paper, it’s like a tweet so if you can fit it in a tweet you can fit in on the sparrow

Chance: Nod head and sit down and make it short and sweet and then hand it back to Volca

DMaster: Volca walks to a guard and they head off with it.

Chance: Go towards the kitchen after I write on the paper remembering I owe Insatra her dagger back

DMaster: She is in the room helping wash dishes with Luella and Sincere. She shakes her head, tells you it is yours now.
SIN: Hey Champ, so what happened down there? Why you coming through the front door?

Chance: Just stare at him and shake my head.
Chan: All I can really say is that I popped out of the underearth in a Hill Dwarf village. They took care of me for a day or two and pointed me in the right direction.

DMaster: They all glance at each other than back to you

Chance: Chan: Did what I had to down there.
Leave out Ikon for now. Clench my jaw and fists.

DMaster: They are listening, curious but they are not pushing
SIN: Ok, just curious. All in due time.

DMaster: They all give you a hug, handshake and the night starts to wind down a bit. Some are chatting, others are playing a dice game

Chance: kind of distance myself from the group deep in thought

DMaster: a few flashbacks but it is like you know enough to push it back… “lock it down”

Chance: lock it down and think of Khamyra and the twins. A smile forming on my face, thinking to myself I will be back with you soon My Love. Making sure that Talia is okay now that I have reappeared, before calling it a night

DMaster: You two hug and chit chat, she tells you that she finally got the pee smell out of her horse and Toby

Chance: Can’t help but laugh the way only I am can and give her one more big hug before I tell her to get some sleep

DMaster: you fall asleep

Next Day 3:00 AM

Talia worried about the dip stick ChanceDMaster: Talia wakes you up
TAL: Chance! You are having a nightmare!

Chance: Sigh and look at her

DMaster: You can’t remember what it was, Everyone is up though, looking on, worried.

Chance: Chan: Sorry. I just need some air.
Get up and walk out of the room. Turning to champ form knowing I can’t sleep because of the nightmares

DMaster: After Talia double checks on you, she heads back. The night goes on, and cry time happens. Volca has rations for you, some water skins gearing you up for the traveling ahead.

Chance: Chan: Thank you Volca. I know we didn’t see eye to eye in the beginning but truly, thank you for looking out for them.
putting my hand on her shoulder

Volca, saying goodbye to ChanceDMaster: She smiles, nods, then slaps your shoulder
VOL: Spice of life Champ, spice of life. Say hi to Shemmy for me, and safe travels home
All of them go to Volca, hug and shake hands.

Chance: Make last minute checks before we head to the horses

DMaster: Volca tells you the sparrow flew, so they should get news within the day. You head out

Chance: Chan: So what is our best route? Anyone?
Looking over the map.

DMaster: INA: I was looking at the maps in the Caverns, there are a lot of back roads. I am not 100% sure, but it could shave off some time. We’d go right through Spriggan Sanctuary though.

The tall trees of the Spriggen SanctuaryChance: Chan: I trust you Inasatra, so let’s do it. Besides I did promise someone they could see the Sanctuary

DMaster: Talia is giddy. You guys head through the grassland of the valley. It is a nice ride. Down some make shift paths. As you approach the sanctuary, you can see the trees for miles. The outer cluster of trees are about 100-120 feet high. As you ride further, trees get taller and bigger, until you reach the center. Miles wide clearing with camps, buildings, dwarves, people and tons of druids. The main tree, you can’t see the top and it is the only one in the clearing. It is rumored to be over 2,000 ft in height. The base is a good half mile. Talia does some rituals with some druids. It is relaxing and calming here.

Chance: I marvel at the trees a bit before putting my helm back on.

DMaster: It’s the first time you have done that, Everyone starts to notice – looking you over.
DEM: Damn, I just noticed that armor… guess leather doesn’t hold up in the fires huh?
gives you a playful nudge

Chance: sigh, nod head locking things in and nudge her back
Chan: sure the ward won’t be none to happy that they will have to make me more armor
Chuckling through the helm

Chances new ArmorDMaster: Talia is giggling looking around
TAL: Come to the sanctuary, see the amazing trees and short tips with demonic armor, come one, come all!
She says giving you a smirk, your group chuckles. But you do notice people staring at you, it is no armor that has ever been forged above ground.

Chance: Shrug shoulders and chuckle
Chan: okay, you got to see the sanctuary, time to get moving

DMaster: DM: Condensing. She smiles gives you a mini hug, the group gets ready and ride out. You ride and you are close to an Estate, but there are a few small towns. Discussion on how far they should ride. They decide to stop at a smaller town called Eastfox. They stay at an Inn called The Charming Wyvern and it was outstanding. The food, and people were awesome. Everyone got a good sleep.

Chance: Grab some breakfast and head out.

DMaster: You are having breakfast, during the meal Demi notices you are far enough away to Shadow Run to take an extra day.
DEM: Kind of stuck in the middle, the tourniquet is probably 8-10 hours away, But we wouldn’t have time to get in and make it to Shadow Run
SIN: I remember a town or village on the outskirts of the tourniquet, guess we do that huh?

Chance: Nod my head
Chan: no taking unnecessary risks getting back. They will know we are safe and on our way back once the sparrow gets there. So everyone eat up and get ready to ride

DMaster: DM: Condensing. The group rides and it is uneventful. A bit chilly, but mostly blue skies and fair weather. They watched a pack of Wolves attack a huge group of Elk, it was chaotic. Talia wanted to go help the Elks, but was talked out of it. They stop at an Inn for drink, food and a tinkle, then head out again. They eventually make it to a town called Greenmills. It is run down and not well kept up. You get to an Inn called The Fancy Rodent. The group had to double up, not enough rooms. It is definitely a place that does its business because it is minutes from the entrance of the Tourniquet. The group goes to bed…

Chance: Chan: Talia, get some sleep. I’ll just keep watch.
I take off the helm and just stare out the window

DMaster: TAL: Watch what the rats? Oh I’m sorry the “Fancy Rodents”
She giggles.
TAL: No, you get some sleep
She is pointing at you. There are two bed / cots.

Chance: shaking my head and sigh, I sit on the cot and take off the armor. Still not going out of champion form

DMaster: TAL: Really, I have to sleep with a night light?
she turns over and starts to sleep

Chance: I try to lock everything out and lay down and close my eyes

DMaster: You revert, no longer Champion and you fall asleep.

Next Day 7:00 AM

DMaster: you have some crazy dreams but you woke up, Talia is staring at you, legs over the edge of the bed
TAL: I’m never bunking with you again, uggg!
she stomps out of the room with a towel

Chance: Chan: I wouldn’t want to bunk with me either
Saying it under my breath, getting geared up making my way downstairs

DMaster: the group is eating some breakfast

Chance: plop down in a chair and get some bean water not feeling hungry right now

Breakfast at the InnDMaster: The morning goes on, eating, little talk knowing they have to make it to Shadow Run
TAL: Hey Demi, maybe your boyfriend will still be there
The two go racing out of the Inn to the chuckle of a few of your group.

Chance: smirk a bit, get to the horses, go over the travel plans and have Inasatra be our scout

DMaster: You make it to the tourniquet. It is a downpour, the clouds just dropping a ton of water. The usual brigades of Dwarven guards and soldiers. With the help of Demi, you make it through. Your fantastical armor was not very convincing you were with the Black Ward. By the time you get past the massive wall, it was roughly 9:00 AM. It is about 6-7 hours to Shadow Run. Todd rolls twice and no encounter, except some feisty guards who quickly move on after seeing your armor and Demi’s; not to mention Todd rolled really good on persuasion. Some thunder and lightning coming through. Finally make it to Shadow Run, stable the horses.

Chance: Get my group together, and head in.

DMaster: Talia has a small dagger drawn looking for something or someone.

Chance: Glance over to her
Chan: Talia, what are you doing?

DMaster: TAL: I want to make sure that smelly man is not going to take care of our horses again.
The group chuckles.

Chance: Shake head.
Chan: Talia put it away now, are you going to gut him?
giving her a “really” look

Good Old Shadow RunDMaster: Gives you a soft playful smile.
TAL: No, it probably would smell worse inside than outside anyways, just give him a threat… no pee on the horses!
The group laughs as she sheathes her little dagger and joins the group. You head inside, that Inn is to your left… but everyone quickly passes that by. The streets are half slippery rock, half mud. Not a lot of people out with the rain and cool weather.

Chance: Try and find another Inn somewhere else.

DMaster: Your group trudges through the rain and mud, the people out are giving you odd looks. But you get to what seems like a red light district. Pubs, Inns, other places of less than reputable means. The group heads into “The Scratchy Rogue” despite Luella mentioning something about sleeping and scratching.

Chance: Head to the front desk. Get as many rooms as I can.

DMaster: It was 3 gold total for five rooms. They have these fried chips and dip as their “specialty” and it is the only thing they sell, or add to the cost.

Chance: Fish for my money.

DMaster: Before you can, you glance over to a loud commotion. You see Demi gives a guy half her size an uppercut that sends him literally 10-12 feet in the air and about 10 feet away. Lands hard on a table, collapsing it and mugs, chips, dip, go flying as well as wood splinters.
INN: Son of a bitch!
The Inn owner, a bit burly jumps over the counter.

Bar Room Brawl!Chance: Slump shoulders, shake my head.

DMaster: The room erupts into a fight. Demi just laying waste to all who come to her. Inasatra throwing down, a smile on her face. Sincere is against the wall looking on wide eyes. Talia is tripping people, or poking at them in fun. Luella is sitting on the farthest stool at the bar getting hit on by three men.

Chance: Rip through the crowd, push people, punch where I have to and get to my group.
Chan: Out NOW!
Yelling at them.

DMaster: DM: Rolled a 19 to get to them. You make it through the melee fairly well, giving a hard elbow to a drunken man. You practically throw Demi across the room, her face beat red, snarl on her face. The group leaves the Inn and the owner is yelling at you from the doorway.

Chance: Turn and get in his face, let my eyes beam.

DMaster: His eyes bulge and he stumbles back.

Chance: Chan: You do not want to get on my badside little man.
Growl. Then flip him a platinum piece.
Chan: For your trouble.
Turn to Demi and grab her armor, look into her eyes, mine still beaming.
Chan: We do not need this Demi, we have enough to worry about.

DMaster: DEM: He was grabbing my ass!
LUE: If it isn’t the honkers, its the dumper
You look at the group, standing in the rain, goofy smiles on their face. Demi trying to calm down, Inasatra again shaking her hand like she hurt it; but she has a smile on her face.

Chance: Look down shake head.
Chan: I just can’t be angry, I mean this is Shadow Run, what are we to expect?
Look for another Inn.

DMaster: Across the street is another one, even worse
INA: Demi, remind me never get in a fight with you. That dude… his jaw is in the next realm…
Demi is flush, red faced, walking in the rain.
TAL: Watching Demi fight is… inspirational!
The Black Ward woman scrunches her eyebrow and looks to the Witchblade.

Chance: Heading into the other Inn, named the Groping Goblin.
Chan: try not to get us thrown out of this one please
Glance up.
Chan: Fucking great, a groping goblin…
once inside, walk over to Demi and put my hands on her shoulders.
Chan: keep your cool this time, not like we have many choices here.

DMaster: She nods her head barely making eye contact. You get the rooms, avoid the rowdy bar and head straight up to your rooms. You bunk with Sincere. Todd rolls a 13 for sleep.

NEXT DAY 7:00AM

DMaster: You wake from a bell ringing, it must be their crier. The group gets together in the bar, seems like it doesn’t do much for Breakfast and you head out. A bit chilly but blue skies, some puffy clouds. Get to your horses, and they don’t smell like pee, much to the thankfulness of Talia. Everyone gnaws on some rations and ride. After 4 you stop, eat, drink and pee. It is about high sun. Then head back out.

Chance: Keep going, almost out of the Free Lands.

DMaster: Spoke too soon. (todd rolls bad). Inasatra stops the group.
INA: I see something up ahead, but I can’t tell what. There is movement…

Chance: Chan: tie up your horses. If we don’t make it out of this, they can have them for desert.

DMaster: Everyone’s eyes bulge a little and look to him.
DEM: That’s the… ummm… spirit.

Battle Written Out

(Work in progress)

TOP OF ROUND ONE
Chance turns to full champion mode and bark skin, has two rounds. There is 6 mountain drakes.

The group moves forward and out snakes 6 medium sized draconian lizard creatures. About 6-7 feet long, roughly 3 feet in height an odd washed greyish color that is the same color as the mountains, it’s uncanny. But since it is far enough away from the start of them, they are not as concealed. Their heads resemble a dragon of sorts, large mouth, big teeth. But their claws is what everyone noticed first, razor sharp and big. The tails swishing around with a flat end and it looks bottom heavy like it would work similar to a flapjack.

Chance did not hesitate and slashes at the first one he sees. The blade just grazes the creature but it was in a vulnerable spot making it hiss, and some blood stream from it, doing much more damage than anyone thought (15hp of damage). The creature was so taken back, it twirls to meet chance and the Champion drives his glowing dagger into the creature but this time, it did not penetrate, it slide inbetween scale and skin and was stuck for a moment. Chance stumbles back a bit after the creature shakes him off (rolled a 1, waa waa).

Demi sees you stumbling a bit and she instinctually rushes that Drake. Twirling her battle axe she yells a bit with force striking down and hitting the creature pretty good (8hp of damage). Pulling it out she then winds up again and slashes across the grey dragon looking thing and cranks it again making the creature skitter back and wince in pain (9hp of damage).

Inasatra’s eyes radiate for a second and a weird glow appears on the second Drake (Hunters Mark). Afterwards she sees the first Drake being targeted she switch’s up her target, thinking maybe they can kill one quicker if they all attack it. Her first shot was bad, her attention distracted and it bounced off the scales of the creature. “Bullocks!” she yells stringing up another one that did not miss the mark, clocks the creature in the shoulder (9hp of damage).

“Here goes nothing, Rawek you better have told me this right,” Luella mumbles as her eyes glow purple for a short minute. Blood trickles down her staff, she pounds it to the ground and she bows her head for a short second. Took a second or two but up rises a shadowy figure and it instantly grabs hold of the first Drake that everyone is attacking. The monster was so surprised by the attack (15hp of damage). The creature screeches and falls over lifeless. Luella puts on her rope item to help with AC before her round ends. She knows if she can keep the concentration, the shadow figure will stay there attacking.

All of the Drakes attack almost at once, it seems to be their style. Fortunately for the party, they were ready.

Chance swats the lunge of one of the drakes, then sidesteps the tail swipe. Another went after Sincere but both times reflected off his armor. Another went for Talia and her quick move avoided the tail and her pole-arm in the ground stopped the lunge immediately, surprising the Drake. Even Luella, trying to concentrate, avoids the dual attack of one of the Drakes. But shortly after Luella made her move from one, another swung its tail and connected making her fall back on her butt (6hp of damage). With her being incapacitated so to speak, the creature clamps down on her leg and side making her scream (5hp of damage).

Sincere was aiming for the one Drake, but say Luella getting owned on the ground, he rushes to her and attacks the Drake. The creature saw it, and jumped back instinctively. Sincere’s hit missed, but it wasn’t in vain, it got the creature away from Luella at least.

She thought for just a second to get fancy but entanglement is tricky, and she doesn’t have a ton of attacking spells, so to the Pole-Arm. Talia looks for the closest drake and does her double swing move that Helkyr taught her. Both “daggers” at the end of the pole-arm slices through making the creature recoil a bit (9hp of damage).

TOP OF ROUND TWO
Chance is in full champion mode and bark skin, has one round. There is 6 mountain drakes. Luella has her +5 AC rope on. The second drake has a hunters mark on it from Inasatra.

Chance instinctively wanted to go over to protect Luella but a small smile washes over his face as Sincere has already done that. He turns his attention to a drake and swings hard cutting through the side of the face make the creature react (12hp of damage). In a following motion the glowing dagger (ice damage) hits the creature as well (10hp of damage). The Champion thought for a moment to say something witty but voted against it in the end.

Demi does her rush move on one of the Drakes and it takes them off guard (missed save BADLY). They skitter backwards and it is almost on its hind legs. Easy target for Demi as she swings twice hard at the creature connecting both times (15hp and 11hp of damage). Blood spurts out, stream lining across the battle field hitting the other drakes who seem to be getting a little frantic with the on goings. That Drake is prone for this round as it tries to, literally, get its feet under him.

The Eldergleen elf pulls an arrow, it suddenly has a soft green glow to it. She strings it up and aims for her Hunters Marked Drake. It lodges into the side of the creature make it sway a bit (7hp of damage with 3hp of necrotic / hunters mark damage), then fires again and almost hits the exact spot doing (11hp of damage with 5hp more of hunters mark damage).

By then Luella is picking herself off the ground, more pissed than scared and pulls her hand up in the air, tracing some component. A symbol is traced and she yells Eldritch! A bolt or arcane energy streaks for that Drake that attacked her and it slams into it with a little wimper from the creature (18hp of damage, double – crit roll).

A drake goes after the large woman, Demi, and took her a bit by surprise smacking her a good one with the odd looking tails (7hp of damage) and with that it lunges but skitters loosing its balance. That allowing the Black Ward woman to regain her position and hammers down her Axe making it squeal and blood shoot out (6hp of damage).

Both Talia and Inasatra avoid the dual attacks by the monsters. It seems they are going slower then enemies from the Under earth and it is to the parties advantage. The Drakes are getting frustrated at the situation.

Demi is recovering from the last attack and because she had a reactionary she was not ready for another tail to the face. Slap! She stutters back seeing stars a bit and cursing under her breath (8hp of damage). Then with her off balance, it lunges for the Black Ward woman and clamps on her leg making her yelp a little (7hp of damage).

The last Drake goes after Sincere and the tail just ricochet’s off the armor but the lunge and bite, he misjudged. It clamps into Sincere, inbetween the armors fittings and drives the tooth deep (5hp of damage), making him push the creature off and scowl. Then he retaliates with a quick whisper to the hammer, it glows as it goes slamming down on the Drake, hitting it inbetween the head and shoulders and a loud crack sound is heard (15hp of damage). A satisfied smile crosses the clerics face.

TOP OF ROUND THREE
Chance is in full champion mode and bark skin is gone. There is 3 mountain drakes. Luella has her +5 AC rope on. The second drake has a hunters mark on it from Inasatra.

The Champion is tiring of the battle already. He lunges at the creature he was attacking before and slashes hard, with his dagger following, in rapid succession. The sword rips through the shoulder blades of the creature exposing a little bone (heh heh) and blood flies (8hp of damage), the dagger follows suit and hits with a frosty gauge (10hp of damage). Seeing the creature stutter and wobble Chance figures its time to finish him off. He plants both feet firmly and drives Silent Fate into the creatures face, just above the nose and it is driven deep and far to the hilt making the creatures eyes bulge, it’s body shutter and fall limp (killing blow 12hp of damage). Chance rips the sword out with force, blood streaming out as he looks around and gears for any attack.

Demi was angry as she headed for a Drake only to find herself ready to attack but the Drake pulling out of range. She re-situated herself (superior dice) and swung very wide and very hard hitting the creature across the face (15hp of damage). She takes another step forward and slices again. The creature was turning to get away and her blade rips through the entire side of the drake (11hp of damage). Then another slash that slams down on the backside of the creature making it growl and scream in pain (9hp of damage, surge).

Seeing one of the creatures starting to falter, Inasatra drops her bow and streaks for it leaping up and bring the sword down in the middle of the creatures body. With the weight of the elf and force it’s legs collapse to a cloud of dust(14hp of damage). Then pulls out the sword, a little surprised it wasn’t dead yet, jumps down and slashes hard with the fall giving it more strength (16hp of damage, killing blow).

Luella, knowing her limited mana, has a spell left up her sleeve. She throws some dust, writes a symbol in it and says “besmet.” A whirlwind of bugs engulfs one of the Drakes at it starts to frenzy a little trying to get away from the bugs (6hp of damage). It was the only drake left.

Chance sees that Drake starting to run and with his speed he reaches the creature, leaps on top of it and drives Silent Fate deep into it(18hp of damage, killing blow), blood and guts flying from the attack as he pulls the sword out. The Champion is waving his hand around swatting at all the bugs Luella rose, still standing on the carcass.

Turn Based Starts Here Again

Chance: chuckling under my helm, make it a point to take a claw to bring back for cullun, maybe a few with some teeth. For Khamyra too.

DMaster: Talia is also grabbing a few things as well as Luella, for components
SIN: That went fairly well, we work pretty good with each other

Chance: Chan: as it should be
After gathering components I will make my way over to Demi still in Champ form and heal her

DMaster: she smiles and thanks you, double taking still with that form.

Chance: nod my head and also make sure to heal up Lue Lue
Chan: let’s get back to the horses we are close to getting out of this fucking nightmare of a place…

DMaster: Luella smiles too
LUE: Fucking scaly things, my new shadow spell… I was hoping to keep it running for a little longer than a few seconds.

Chance: can’t help but smirk under the helm
Chan: Luella, I couldn’t be more proud than I am right now of how far your skill has come

DMaster: she shrugs her shoulders.
TAL: Should of distracted them with your titties
Everyone laughs a bit.

Chance: shaking head and let out a laugh
Chan: come on let’s get going before we have anymore distractions, titties included, or not… whatever!

DMaster: you guys head back to your horses, take a minute to catch your breath and head out

Chance: have Inasatra scout ahead as before as we head out

DMaster: You head out of the free lands, make it to a town. You are about 1 day ride to Hillside now. It was a nice town for the most part, some rough edges overall because its close proximity to the Free Lands, but it was welcome that there were no fist fights and things didn’t smell like piss.

Next Day

DMaster: The group grabs a quick breakfast knowing it was going to be a long day riding. They head out on a beautiful autumn day. After a few stops they can now see camp fires from the distance, Hillside is straight ahead.

The World of Legon
