First Five Begins Now
Continued from a “A Little Chat With A Friend”
Talia gives Chance a wild look. “No, I do not like the smell of piss, goddammit it is going to be a month until I get the smell out of Lilly Girl!”
The quarter elf smiles and gives Talia a playful push. Looks about the odd room and back to her, “well I have a bag of coins that you can have when we get back, but it is in a piss soaked pouch…”
“Ugg!” Talia exclaims, “no, lets go get it now and I can put them in a nice pouch and…”
Shaking his head he chuckles, “then make that nice pouch smell like a pee receptacle? Naw, let’s not, shall we?”
Both of them giggle thinking of the crazy town in the Free Lands. Then they head into the smaller bedroom of sorts, find a spot and try and get some sleep.
Next day
The group is slowly getting up after an uncomfortable sleep. They make their way out and they get hit with the most wonderful smell of breakfast and baking bread.
Volca glances over, two large plates in her hand, “time you guys got up, this isn’t some goddamn resort,” she says with a snort, putting down what looks to be bacon and eggs.
Talia’s eyes light up and a big smile grows across her face. The party is standing there looking around wondering what the hell is going on.
The short Odius stops and looks to the group, “food ain’t gonna eat itself, do I have to tell you guys to do everything? Dig in!”
That is all that Talia needed and she runs to the table, sits and grabs a plate.
A dwarf guard comes in with two pitchers of steaming bean water and some mugs. He sets it down then gets himself some food as well.
The group dives into the food and it is pleasantly well made, delicious and the bean water was strong.
“Volca, do we have you to thank for this?” Chance looks up, finishing off a bite of perfectly cooked eggs, “this is what Grim Eye was talking about with tempting you with food.”
The Odius smirks standing a bit away chewing on what looks like a small carcass, “aye it is, and I don’t want any thanks…” she says with some whip, “don’t get soft on me my Champion, it’s time to get nasty…”
Demi glances up to Chance and they catch eyes, she mouths “MY Champion?” She smiles softly.
“You, rotund woman, what is it?” the Odius barbs seeing the exchange.
The large Black Ward woman slowly stands up, glaring at the creature, dropping her fork loud on the plate.
Chance glances up, goes to say something and Talia stops him. The Champion looks to one of his best friends and she is slowly shaking her head, “this has to happen bro, might as well let it happen now…”
The two meet in the middle of the room as everyone stops eating and looks on.
In a surprise move Demi pulls off her shirt, with only a support fabric there, a bra in the fantasy realm of sorts. Everyone can see she doesn’t have a lick of fat on her, rippling with muscles, shoulders flexing and her arms are tensing up. Her fabric doing everything it can, holding in the large boobs.
Volca matches her, already in a tank top of sort. Eye to eye.
“The name is Demi. You got it Odius?” the Black Ward woman snarls, not backing down.
After a few tense moments, both of them seem to soften a bit, and Volca gets a big smile on her face, “oh, Demi… we are going to kick some fucking ass down there, aren’t we?!” she says, grabbing both her arms making her eyes widen.
“Whoa, you are… really in shape,” giving her another once over then kind of looking back into Demi’s eyes dreamily.
The Black Ward woman then backs up, giving her a point of her finger, wagging it a little, then shaking her head with a chuckle.
The breakfast finishes up and everyone is full, happy and ready to go. Chance walking to each one of his people making sure they have everything. Everyone nods their head, Inasatra just gives him a snotty response.
“You guys want a little parade, or maybe you need to bring a maid to wipe your ass too?” the Odius snarks half in jest, half in frustration as she has been waiting for 30 minutes.
Chance walks to her and smirks, “naw, it looks like you would be good at wiping ass, so we can just let you do it for us?”
The most perfected resting bitch face washes over the short creature. She turns but not before Chance could see a playful smirk cross her face.
“Lets go!” she yells, making her voice echo through the room and the open jailed area. The Odius has a large backpack, a bunch of pouches and bags, a larger weapon and she swings another medium size sack over her shoulders, the sound of metal hitting each other can be heard.
It takes about 15 minutes but they make their way to the entrance, down the drawbridge and into the underearth…
Welcome to the Underearth!
The group is still marveling at the color, the hissing sound and the fact, right now, they are just in a field that seems to be in a perpetual sunset.
After an hour and a half, they are starting to see some clusters of huts and some humanoids walking around, apparently doing normal things. The huts look like someone threw a bunch of things into a cement mix and made walls with it. Some stone, what looks to be wood, odd colored masonry elements. Some don’t have a roof, others only a tarp of sorts.
“No need for roofs really,” the Odius says as she is walking along, looking over to a few huts, “no night, no day, no rain…”
Then Volca stops the group. “OK, one last pow wow before we hit the village, this is very important and why I waited until now to tell you.” She says giving everyone big eyes.
The group stops still looking about at what looks like a typical small settlement with farms, etc. Then refocus back to the Odius when she clears her throat, quite loudly.
“Not many of these folks know common, let alone any other language; they only speak under-common. So what you talk about will just sound like gibberish. But rule of thumb for you all; no talk, is good talk. No one down here knows what the above ground is, they only know of the underearth and that is their world. They also don’t know this as the underearth, it is what they call Ardor. This is their little realm. We do not know who understands common and who doesn’t, ya here?” she says nodding at everyone, “keep your possessions close, there are a lot of pocketers roaming around, especially in Bam.”
Everyone glances over to Luella who shyly waves her hand to as though to say hi to everyone.
“Aye?” Volca says looking over to Luella, “what did you say horny skinny one?”
The ex-strippers eyes light up and she smiles, wanting to laugh, “I just knew that the ‘hell’ you spoke of, labeled on the map, is what we call Ardor. This out here, the fields and such, I did not know this was also called Ardor. Wait… am I horny?” She looks down at herself.
“Yeah, I can smell it on you…” Then a scrunch of the Odius’s face and she shrugs her shoulders as a few people giggle, “bottomline, keep your chit chatter to a minimum. You guys stick out like a sore ass on bathing day, so let’s not add to it.”
Then Volca leans one way, glances at Inasatra, “especially you, we can’t get you to shut up!”
The Eldergleen, looks down clenching her jaw, shaking her head. The group chuckles a bit and they move on.
There are more and more huts, some look like they are ready to fall down, others look fairly stylish and well made. The humanoids you see, some are small and they are pretty quick. You guess they are quicklings. Other mixed breeds, half human, half goblin or orc or who knows what else. Maybe a place to live and hide from society that does not treat half breeds well.
“Bam Kebrik everyone!” Volca says waving her hand around, glancing back to the party.
More and more buildings start to pop up. It seems to get more denser, and the road a bit more wide. There was no true “entrance” to this village. Bigger buildings but none that seem to go over 2 stories. You can only imagine how dangerous that would be. The party is looking on at these humanoids that are maybe 3 feet to 3 and half feet tall, weird glowing eyes, almost feathers for hair and dressed in rags. There are a few other humanoids that almost 4 feet in height and wear red caps. They remind you of a grumpy old man.
Chance pulls the party away from a band of three hooded figures, about 5 and half feet tall. They instantly look over and are staring at Luella, like they are drawn to her. Fiery eyes underneath the hoods.
“Darklings,” the large Black Ward man says giving them a once over, “don’t want to mess with them in a crowded area…”
The Odius nods her head glancing over, “aye, ka-boom!” she says with her hands flailing around.
Volca shakes her head, looking around seeing just about everyone in the village is just staring at them. “Time to be quiet everyone, and keep moving.”
Eventually the party ends up in a very large circular area. In the middle is three redcaps, as Volca called them playing some music. It is not good, but everyone seems to be enjoying it.
“This… is incredible,” Sincere says with wide eyes and a smile across his face marveling at the town in a place no one would even think life existed, let alone for it’s hospitality.
The circular area has merchant stalls set up, much like it is above ground, behind them are make shift buildings that seem to be shops. It is not too busy right now, with only a few people walking by.
Talia grabbed a coin and headed towards the Redcaps playing, and she gets grabbed by Volca immediately.
“Listen prissy one, do not get cute down here, do not assume everything is like it is up there,” she says glancing up, then the Odius makes her put the coin back, “they do not have a monetary system down here, they barter. Plus it would be an insult to do something like that during their performance…”
The Witchblade swallows hard, looks to the Odius and nods her head.
“Good, now you all just stand here, I am going to see if we can get a water egg or two…” she says stomping on over to a few stalls.
The group stands looking around, looking like “a sore ass on bathing day” as Volca put it. People walking by and glancing over to you, some stop in a group, whisper and point. If you didn’t know any better it looks like a merchant area in a slummy area of a city. The hissing noise is now starting to blend in with the rest of the ambiance and the orange / sepia glow is starting to look normal, almost.
Volca heads over smiling, hands Chance a weird large egg like contraption and gives Demi the other one. “Got two, I had to give them one of my favorite daggers, a few metal scraps and some of my best spices for that,” she finishes off with a little bit of a growl.
Chance is looking it over, see’s it can open up and starts to turn it, swhen his hand gets grabbed.
“Not now dumbass, I’ll show you when we get out of the town,” she says with a snarl and an angry look.
The group makes their way out of the merchant circle and down what appears to be the main road that is a good 20 to 25 feet wide. After walking for a bit, the area is strange in that it is like a hallway, buildings butted so close up against each other, it seems like a wall on either side.
The group stays in a single file for the most part, Volca in front, Chance in back. They walk for a good 5 minutes passing by crossroads, a few humanoids that give them wild stares and eventually make it to a non descriptive road that forks off. It is starting to get less and less congested, looks like they are heading out of the town. Volca waves them down the fork in the road where the building seem worse, a few smaller humanoids who look nefarious are darting around. She ends at a fairly large hut, and the smell is almost unbearable. It is a moldy, body odor smell with a mix of sulfer.
“Everyone not a word, and don’t look surprised…” the Odius says glancing back at the group. She then knocks on the door.
The door whips open so fast, shards of wood fly off it. A hideous head of a humanoid glances out, barely any hair on the head, one eye that is oversized, another looks swollen shut, pasty white skin with large worts and moles. Barely anything on, but they then notice, more than two arms.
Volca starts in on pleasantries in “under-common” and the creature was having nothing of it. Almost going to close the door, the Odius whips out what looks like a large beef jerky. Waves it a bit in front and the creatures eyes or eye bulges and she smiles… her mouth opens with drool plopping out and a makeshift row of dagger like teeth is evident.
Chance looks around and everyone’s eyes are wide, but taking the Odius to her word to just stand still and not say a word. He can see a few humanoids down the pathway, but it seems pretty clear none the less. Just the sound of gibberish between Volca and this, thing.
The group gets invited in and that was a mistake as everyone starts to gag a little with the overwhelming smell. Junk, garbage, debris probably even shit in the large room. The only thing saving them is no roof, some of the smell can escape. The creature has three or more legs, but seems to drag one like it is dead.
After a few minutes of back and forth with the creature, Volca brings out what appears to be bakery wrapped in a wonderful white cloth. Everyone can smell it, it is sweet bread.
This creature all but lunges for it making everyone yelp and jump back a bit, much to the dismay of the Odius.
After a few more parlay’s, Volca nods and pushes everyone out of the hut. Not before the creature takes the bread and delicately unwraps it, and it inhales slowly… more drool plops out of the mouth.
Volca closes the door, then looks everyone over and guides them back to the main road. They walk another 3 minutes or so and the group is all but out of Bam Kebrik.
“So, what was that all about and what the hell was that, thing?” Chance says eyeing up the Odius.
She shrugs her shoulders and smirks. “I don’t know who that is but it is smarter than all of you combined…” she snaps, then taking a deep sigh.
“I don’t know who said you are looking for the Interflow Gardens, but they are as dumb as a sack of dogshit,” Volca says frustrating, “trying to get her to understand what we were looking for when it is not called that, was near impossible. I think I’ll have that smell up my nose for a week!”
The Champion bursts out laughing then cups his mouth, giggling.
Volca, wide eyes and a bit angry, “oh that’s funny, its a fucking barrel of monkeys is it?”
Nodding his head, “yes it is, a demi-god gave me that name and let’s just say, me and him… we don’t get along. So it will be nice to shove this bit of information up his ass next time I see him.”
“Put another foot up there for me as well,” she responds, then looks at the group, points straight ahead, “we can head about 2 weeks that way, and circle the sheer cliffs. That will take us to another town that will be close to the Godhaven.”
Everyones eyes bulge. “Uh we don’t have time for 2 weeks, and what the hell is Godhaven?” Chance says starting to get a little worried.
The Odius is nodding her head, grabbing for a paper she had in her belt, “hope she doesn’t realize I lifted this from her,” she says with a worried look. “She is my reference for everything Underearth… and Godhaven, it is what you were calling Interflow Gardens. She said a God lives there.”
Everyone exchanges glances and then back to the short creature.
“Hey a person with powers or hell, even great looks can situate themselves down here to be something they are not, so this could be some Beguiler or shit, maybe another God you never heard of that rules the Underearth,” Volca says finishing off.
Chance shakes his head hoping this is not the case, 2 1/2 gods are enough to deal with.
“Hell. We can go through Hell and there is an entrance hidden deep in the Crucible of Blood,” she retorts making a loud snort and a shake of her head, “Crucible of Blood, goddammit.”
“Crucible of Blood… I am guessing this is not going to be a stroll through sandy beaches with bonfires,” Demi says wide eyes shaking her head.
Volca nods her head, “you got it Tits McGee, you got it.”
The large Black Ward woman dips her head and chuckles a bit.
“To Hell!” The Odius says pointing down the road into a vast plains of the under earth.
The group walks the path for what they guess was 3 or so hours, with little to nothing to report. Some odd looking trees, or plants, a creature they could not explain that was more afraid of them and finally a stoppage.
“Hold up, we are in Quickling territory and I can smell them,” Volca says sniffing around.
Just then 4 smaller humanoid figures pop out of the weed like wheat grass with make shift spears, daggers and what you guess some armor.
Volca steps up and the 5 of them talk in the weird language. She tosses them what appears to be a iron pauldron from old armor and they get all excited, grab it and dart back into the weeds.
The Odius turns and smiles. Everyone can now hear a ticking noise.
“What is that ticking sound?” Sincere says looking around.
For the first time in days, Inasatra speaks up, and with a sigh, “It’s Volca, we are in for some trouble…”
Battle Begins Here
“Mother Shed Dogs is what the little shits called them, I have heard of them before, but not referred to as ‘Mothers.’ Some fuckers that escaped hell a long time ago and are flourishing here in the Underearth Plains. (giggle) Except they said they just gave birth or laid eggs or something and need food…”
She drops her backpack and bags, the ticking becoming more apparent.
The Champion looks back to Luella, gives her a half-hearted smile. “Guess we are doing this then, huh?” he says letting out a sigh. He puts his stuff away including the egg, and gears up for a battle.
Luella is already starting to walk your way trying to see across the wheat like fields that are roughly 2 1/2 – 3 feet in height. Then Sincere is pointing, “I think I see movement in the wheat or whatever this stuff is.”
Volca pulls out a huge half sickle, she grabs the base of her pole arm and slams them together and twirls it around. “Glad I got a chance to put this together, its time to carve some shit up!”
“Ready to juice me up Lue Lue?” Chance says giving her an odd smirk.
Talia whips her head around and scrunches her nose, “oh, really? Juice? come on man!”
Everyone is now at some form of readiness. But it is quiet, much too damn quiet. As you grab Luella’s hand there is a rush and a short leap from this wolf like beast with some fur, mostly scaly skin, dead black eyes and is about 6-7 feet long; reminds everyone of a short wolf. Its Jaw is much to big for its frame, and the tail is flailing about with what looks like a stinger on the end. It was so quiet too, just the sound of rustling wheat stalks and a slight whoosh sound.
Demi whirls around a bit too late and this creature, it clamps down on the Black Ward woman who almost falls over from the surge but is holding her own. She growls in pain (33 hp of damage) but manages to disengage the jaws. As she did the tail whipped around and struck her right in the gut making her lose her breath (19 hp of damage – made her save otherwise it would of been 38hp). Demi coughs a bit of blood out getting 52 hp of damage out of the gate.
By then Chance has grabbed Luella’s hands, almost crushes her fingers but stops when she yelps. The transformation to Champion is complete and at 100% (rolled a 10).
TOP OF ROUND ONE
So far there is one Shed Dog Mother, and the group. Chance has successfully turned to Champion and is at 100% though he loses the initiative bonus and an action. He also thinks of Bark and gets the extra AC.
Luella having the initiative, grabs her magical rope and puts it around her neck. She gets a boost of AC.
Volca in almost like a dance like move, runs, twists and turns. She has her reverse legs planted firmly on the ground and she brings the reaper blade down on the creature. The reaper blade digs hard into the creature, but the odd under part of the blade that is jagged reminds everyone of a mouth of a tiger (13 hp of damage). The Odius, still in her stance, with her whole body rips the blade out doing even more damage on an automatic hit / damage (her specialty 8 more hp of damage).
Chance runs to it and takes a wild slash, and as usual in the beginning of the battle he rushes it and it sails by the creature missing it. Luella glances over and sighs, “I juiced you up for that?” The Champion just growls loudly and gets in a defensive stance.
Sincere is looking at the other side of the pathway, the wheat as high as the other side. “I am pretty sure there is another one on the other side!” He yells, but without total confirmation he goes after the one they can see. Knowing he has to preserve his spells, he just launches his large war hammer down on the back of the creature, a loud crack is heard and the Shed Dog yelps (24 hp of damage – rolled a critical).
In almost a frenzy it takes a wild snap at Inasatra who skillfully put her blade vertical making the jaw slam down on it, a little blood spurts from its mouth and it opens and retreats a bit (rolled a 1). With its somewhat frenzy attack the tail swings to her wildly and she ducks, rolls and then replants her foot in a combat stance. The tail harmlessly zings overhead.
Demi trying to recover, blood oozing out of her armor, does her swinging overhead move slicing through the creature twice. Not as good as she wanted but in her weakened state it wasn’t bad (7 hp and 9 hp of damage). It was rushed because she took an action surge to pour a little Nostrum liquid on her bite mark and takes a sip that makes her wince (4hp plus 7hp returned to Demi).
The Eldergleen Elf thinks, if there is another one roaming, waiting, we need to keep this one in its place. She runs her hands along her belt, finds her long dagger, rips it out and plunges it into the Shed Dogs paw into the ground. It howls and goes to yank at it (fails the strength save) and it stays put, at least for a round. Inasatra than slices and dices the creatures neck area making an odd blackish liquid fly, apparently the blood of this creature (9hp plus 7hp of damage).
As the War Cleric predicted, the other creature that looks almost identical leaps out from the other side brush and lands on Sincere. It clamps its jaws down on the Cleric and everyone hears a “clank” and the creature rears back a bit, doing no damage. Sincere was on one Knee trying to get his warhammer in position. The tail flails at him a bit too wildly and it clunks off the blue steel pauldron doing no harm.
Talia eyeing up Inasatra and her idea, she grabs some dirt from the path, mumbles a few words, makes a quick symbol and slams her hand on the ground. Within seconds weird odd tentacles burst from the ground and try to wrap the second creature up all around it’s legs. But the vine like things were not nearly as strong as the ones above earth and it easily rips out of them. “Damn, damn,” she yells in frustration.
TOP OF ROUND TWO
Two Shed Dog Mothers, one is stuck (not grappled). Chance still has 3 more rounds of Champion form, one more round of the Bark. Luella has 5 more rounds of the additional AC bonus too.
Luella looking around just raises her hand with some dust trailing it, her other hand tracing a symbol and she says “eldritch,” in almost a quiet meek voice. A large stream of purple energy rips out of her hand making her jump a little and hits the more injured Shed Dog (5hp of damage).
Volca has a mini rage that she has perfected, so she isn’t gasping for a round to recover. It has some advantages, but not as much as a full on rage. She swings the blade again slices the creature but it moved just far enough away to not get too gouged (6hp of damage) then gracefully flips the weapon over, and slices again and still only getting a bit of it (7hp of damage).
Chance, disappointed in his last attack lunges forward in a morty style move that can do the most carnage in his current position. The sword digs in, he twists and rips it out, black ooze spurting all over (14hp of damage). His second move he brings it back around aiming more for the head only having it half glance off its huge jaw, but still doing some damage (6hp of damage). He then gets back in a defensive position.
With skill of a veteran, and one fluid motion, Sincere has switched the orientation of his hold on his hammer, swings sideways and clocks the new Shed Dog right across the face. The creature tried to yelp but the shock of the hit just made the dog gurgle a bit and a few of its back teeth fly out of it’s mouth (11 hp of damage). The Cleric surges a bit and tries for an overhead hit, but the dog was fast enough to back up as the hammer just makes a huge divit in the ground instead.
Chance turns around only to have the jaws of the second creature clam down on him. He waits for the pain but gets none. He smiles wide and growls a little knowing his bark worked. Then he gets shoved back a bit with the tail trying to penetrate the bark, but again it does it’s job. The Dog thinks he has injured him, but Chance pulls himself out of the grasp, unharmed. Chance laughs a little giving it a slitted eye look.
Talia’s mind was racing on all the things she could do, when Helkyr popped into her mind. She nods to herself and she races for the pinned dog. She sees the creature not really paying her no mind and she rams the dog, in the lower throat, it pierces the skin, into its innards and her force took her by surprise too. She had almost 6 feet of the 8 foot double bladed pole arm into the creature. It let out a gurgled cry, flailed around sending Talia flying to the side, skittering to a halt on the edge of the wheat. The creature falls on its hind legs and plops to the side lifeless. She scrambles to her feet and with all her might (made a STR throw) rips the battle staff out.
TOP OF ROUND THREE
One Shed Dog Mother left, Talia killed the other one. Chance still has 2 more rounds of Champion form, but has lost his bark, AC now 16. Luella has 4 more rounds of the additional AC bonus too.
Luella seeing one dog down, she turns, looks around and repeats what she did before. Dust traveling to her hand straight up, symbol writing in the other and she says almost in question form, “Eldritch?” Arcane energy shoots from her hand to the final dog hitting it, making it pause just a second (7 hp of damage).
Volca turns and yells something in an ancient language. Chance heard it once before in a battle in Greyshale in that old half dwarves shop. She races to the last one standing, but it was like she was stuttering in it and she slams into the creature, horns first. Taking the creature by surprise a bit by the move (10hp of damage, dog made save to not be prone. 2hp of damage to Volca with the spiky extrusions of the dog). Pulling off the dog she then swings her reaper blade and does some decent damage, blood spurting a bit (9hp of damage).
DM: Our usual banter. Todd was like, so we are down to one dog? and the DM was spunky, “perceptive as ever I see.” I am sure some grumbling happened, “such an asshat!” The interaction finished with “Ok, lets go sherlock holmes…”
The Champion tries to flank the dog a bit and slashes at it, ripping through its shoulder area, making some black ooze fly (12 hp of damage). Chance rushes the second move and the blade goes glancing off the creature’s thick skin making the large man curse under his breath. By then the creature turns its head to Chance and the final attack by the quarter elf is diverted by the creature’s tail. “What the fuck!” he yells frustrated. “you gave the creature a much needed fanning, it was getting sweaty.” only replied by “such an asshat today!”
In the same fashion, Sincere swings the hammer at the creature only to have it move back, missing. It’s eyes are now on it’s mate across the pathway.
Demi tries her stutter prone move only to have the creature brace for it doing no damage and making the save. She turns and swings hard and the dog could not get out of the way of this one ripping its rib cage apart a bit (9hp of damage).
Inasatra seeing the area around the dog quickly filling up makes her drop her sword, grab her bow off the back in such a fast way, arrow strung and she fires. Thud, it lodges in an odd part of the shoulder doing only minimal damage (4hp of damage). She fires again hitting in between the rib cage and shoulder blade (7 hp of damage).
By now the Shed Dog realizes her mate is dead and she explodes into a frenzy. She quickly looks and the glowing thing in front of her, and that was good enough. With speed and precision that took Chance way off guard it juts forward slams its jaws down hard on the Champion making his eyes bulge and pain shoot through his body (18 hp of damage). He is starting to get thrown around like a rag doll now, dust flying. Everyone’s eyes bulge. It brings its tail in and pierces the mans armor and into his stomach deep making him gasp, though dust is making him choke (10 hp of damage, 14hp of poison) and another clamp of its jaws then slamming him to the ground (28 hp of damage). The tail then zings over top of Chance, luckily missing him.
Talia drops her blood soaked pole arm and races for Chance. Puts herself in between Chance and the creature. Her hands slap the Champions cheeks who is completely disorientated already from the crazy attack. Light surges from her, to Chance, and Talia collapses on the large man (30 hp back to Chance).
TOP OF ROUND FOUR
One Shed Dog Mother. Talia is out for 3 rounds. Chance still has 1 more round of Champion form. Luella has 3 more rounds of the additional AC bonus too.
Chance is scrambling to get back to his feet, “oh fucker, it’s on now!”
Volca without hesitation, “it was “on” 30 seconds ago you twit!”
Luella, almost in a comedic fashion, looks around and lifts her hand up again, shrugs her shoulders and yells “eldritch,” and again, arcane energy shoots out and strikes the dog making it almost snap out of its frenzy (4 hp of damage).
The Odius sees the Champion struggling to get up, the Witchblade passed out on the ground, the dog within snacking distance, she decides to boil her blood. In no time flat she was in a rage. It only took one hit. The reaper blade, so sharp, so precise. Slices through the air, just missing Chance, over top of Talia. It started at the mouth, and practically cut the dog in two. It ended when there was too much bone to cut threw. Blood just spewing out everywhere. The creature had no time to make a noise, no time to do anything, it just falls lifeless to the ground (Rage hit with Critical 26 hp doubled to 52 hp + 4 – it had 55 hp left).
Sincere runs for Talia and grabs her before the creature essentially would of oozed all over her, now that it is practically in two parts.
Volca, is squatting, breathing heavy. Glancing up and staring at Chance, and not in a good way. She just slowly shakes her head, turns and walks off a bit to wipe her blade down.
A small sigh escapes the Champion knowing again, he did nothing to prove himself in battle. He walks to Luella, gets juiced (rolled a 12 all good) and heals himself and Demi.
Afterwards Talia is leaning up, and Sincere has a smirk on his face handing her a water skin. “Not the brightest idea putting yourself in between a raging creature and Chance…” he says trailing off a bit.
“I don’t know, didn’t even think. I knew Chance was down and I needed to protect him, needed to heal him,” she says kind of zoning out trying to get her bearings about her.
Volca is taking apart her weapon and still giving Chance the stink eye. He approaches her, putting his weapon back and checking the damage on his armor.
“What, what is it?” he says quietly but with a bit of snap to it.
The Odius takes a long hard look, just shakes her head slowly and turns away. Walks to her stuff and gears back up. Then she lets out a sigh.
“Here we go…” she retorts looking to the far wheat-fields, as 10-12 smaller humanoids, that you now know as quicklings, come zooming out. It was hard for anyone to focus on them at first, but they are, well, armed to the teeth as best as these creatures can be. They are in a line protecting the one dead dog, all pointing the small weapons at everyone.
“What the…” Chance starts to say, but Volca waves him off.
She walks to them and a civil conversation was had. There seemed to be one who was a bit bigger, and more ready. Eventually half the quicklings move back to the fields, beckoning. All of a sudden 20-30 of these humanoids rush out with bags and daggers and start in on the corpse. Starting to cut it up.
The Odius walks back with a vial of liquid in her hand, smirk on her face.
Demi who was ready to go, glances at it, “what was that about, and what is that?’ she asks.
“They wanted the carcasses for food, so I got a bottle of their poison as payment. Nasty stuff…” she finishes with a smirk and putting it into her backpack.
Chance walks to Talia once she is standing, their eyes meet. Chance brings her in for a long hug and a kiss on the forehead, “thank you sis…” he says softly as the group gets ready to move out.
Turn Based Starts Here
Chance: Get back to the group making sure everyone is ready to get moving
DMaster: They seem to be, most people watching these smaller creatures work. It looks like someone hit the fast forward button on a VCR. Weird black blood flying about, they don’t seem to mind. Putting the meat in these bags.
Chance: Get everyone’s attention.
Chan: come on everyone, watching them is not getting us home any faster.
DMaster: Nodding their heads, they all gear up and start moving on.
Chance: Remaining rather quiet as we move on, scanning both sides of the road we are on.
DMaster: DM: Todd rolled a 12 for perception.
Walking along in deep thought, you do not notice anything unusual.
Chance: Deep in thought, me having to prove myself once again, and feeling a bit angry at my performance in the battle. Keep moving forward letting Volca guide the party along.
DMaster: As you are walking a great pillar is forming to your left, it has to be a half mile wide, spiraling to the oddly colored speckled ceiling of sorts
Chance: keep the group moving forward unless Volca stops us for any reason. I take the time to make sure my shield is on my arm and my other hand stays near silent fate.
DMaster: More and more of these odd trees, they look like weird overgrown weeds and some look like rotten broccoli.
TAL: Umm, I wasn’t going to say anything but…
She glances around. Volca glances to the Witchblade.
VOL: Yeah, we are being followed.
Chance: shake myself out of being deep in thought and glance over at Volca.
Chan: and just what are we being followed by?
DMaster: She is sniffing the air.
VOL: Quicklings… most likely.
Chance: Chan: well let’s keep moving as if we aren’t already drawing enough attention as it is.
DMaster: VOL: I told you, more people, more attention. Whether we stand, walk or run we will draw attention.
You can see the occasional thing far off in the distance. Some movements, a hut now and again. You heard a weird sound above, and it looks to be larger birds flying over head. Everyone is looking up now. Other types of birds and such around the great pillar, probably nests up in there.
Chance: Can’t help but marvel seeing these birds but remain focused and moving forward, knowing I have a lot resting on my shoulder. Let out a small sigh.
DMaster: Luella watches as a few black birds zing by about 50 feet above you, red eyes, and squawking. She giggles and nudges you a little.
Chance: Look over at Lue Lue and just smirk as we keep moving.
DMaster: LUE: Rawek’s second cousin probably….
Chance: Chan: Interesting thought.
giving her a small smile.
DMaster: You guys stop. The spire is directly to your West (in terms of the makeshift map, the entrance being south). A bit more dense now with the odd looking trees / weeds. Talia is over at a the side looking at the strange fauna, grabbing leaves or anything and putting them in her pouch. Inasatra and Volca keep eyeing each other up, Sincere is staring out in space drinking water. Lue is just fiddling with her robes. Demi is chewing on a jerky.
Chance: shaking my head knowing at some point Inasatra and Volca are going to get into it.
DMaster: Inasatra walks to Volca, they have words. It seemed more productive than argumentative.
Chance: Walk over to Lue Lue and put my arm around her shoulder and smile.
Chan: Thank You for being here Lue Lue on this crazy little adventure.
Saying it quietly.
DMaster: She nods quietly and takes a sip of her flask.
VOL: OK, we are going to get moving, another stop before we have to make a decision on a settlement to the north.
DM: Todd rolls a 22 on Perception.
You can now tell you are being followed, also, you look around and Inasatra is missing
Chance: Nod my head and get the rest of the group gathered up and moving. Figuring if anyone can handle themselves it’s Inasatra.
DMaster: After 2 minutes of walking, you notice Volca walking very slow, almost waiting for something. Then some rustling and weird high pitched noises behind you.
Chance: Hand instantly goes to Silent Fate.
DMaster: Inasatra has one of the Quicklings by the collar and is walking towards you, the other is jumping up and yelling at her. Giving her little jabs with its smaller fist. The Eldergleen gives the humanoid a sharp glance and it stops. Volca laughs, turns and walks to them. An exchange in a weird language happens.
VOL: Evidently we now have escorts I guess. I made a deal for poison. but the Chief thought we needed protectors too, or they are just very curious what the hell we are doing here.
Chance: Chan: as if we couldn’t draw anymore attention, now this.
Sigh, shaking head.
Chan: who am I to argue with a Chief, as if we need protectors though of this… well… caliber.
DMaster: You look to these 3 foot, 3 1/2 foot creatures. Eyes are like colored pearls, usually a light green or a gold. The hair is more feathers of sorts, usually ornate in it’s arrangement. They are wearing armor, kind of, it almost looks like they are leaves from a palm tree. The weapon is an odd colored wood shaft with what seems to be steel or iron tear drop shaped sharp end. They move very fast, even in normal interactions. Also, they are always very nervous looking around. Eventually they calm down and the party moves on. Volca talking, in what she is trying to be hushed tones, barbing back and forth with them.
Chance: well not like I can understand what they are saying, so I will let Volca keep leading us on. I will keep my hand closer to Silent Fate as we keep moving along.
DMaster: The group moves on and besides a close encounter with odd, horse like human beings (not centaurs) it is mostly uneventful. After what you assume is close to 3 hours, you stop. You guys eat, take some water; nothing too extravagant.
VOL: Alright, so… not sure the upcoming town is a place we want to visit, last time it wasn’t friendly… mind you that was decades ago.
Chance: Chan: well need to at least check it out, but keep our guard up. Unless you as our guide say we should keep moving.
DMaster: She looks at you odd, and shakes her head. Sighs.
VOL: Anyways. It is home of what is called the Helix. These little fuckers here (pointing at the Quicklings) haven’t heard from the Helix in a while but its out of their territories for the most part.
DEMI: Helix? Anything more on that?
VOL: Ahhh snake people for lack of better terms I guess. Some you would never know, others, look pretty snakie.
Chance: Rub chin.
Chan: yeah, maybe on second thought we should give that town a wide berth.
DMaster: She glances over to you, slowly shaking her head.
VOL: During my little excursion, we encountered one or two, but they did not say much, they looked formidable and pretty much told us to get lost… verbally and with their aggressiveness.
Chance: Chan: well, let stay out of their way if at all possible. The fewer things we run into the better
DMaster: Volca ignoring you at this point.
VOL: Our options are, straight ahead and hope for the best with the Helix. We can go west, through thicker weeds, wheat and head for the river Sludge, or go east to the open plains and make a slight detour to avoid the Helix, hoping we don’t run into their patrols, if they have them anymore.
SIN: River sludge huh? Sounds, delightful.
Volca snorts.
VOL: I named it that, fit pretty good. Not sure it actually has a name.
Chance: Can’t help but shake head and smirk.
DMaster: VOL: So champ, your going to have to make a decision.
Chance: Chan: of course I am, cause why not.
DMaster: Volca gives you a dirty look.
VOL: Are you not leading this party? having second thoughts? Not a great time to be wishy washy.
Chance: Sigh and look down.
Chan: we are going to cut to the left and use the weeds and wheat cover for better protection
DMaster: She shrugs her shoulders and nods.
VOL: We’ll walk the path another half and then move in, we will hopefully reach the shores of the river. Follow it straight up and find the bridge. Not that we are crossing it or anything.
Chance: Chan: lead on Volca, I trust your knowledge of the area.
DMaster: She is staring at you in disbelief.
VOL: What are you talking about? Are you feeling ok? I’ve been this far once you twit. Once, and it was decades ago!
She gets moving grumbling.
VOL: Maybe the buzzing is affecting his brain or something.
The group giggles a little, she continues to head out, then starts out across the fields. Making your way through varying heights of wheat ranging from as low as a foot high to some that hit 3 feet. In quiet but noticeable voices, Volca and the quicklings are arguing again.
Chance: I tighten my grip on Silent Fate as I am listening to Volca and the quicklings argue.
DMaster: Volca stops the group after about 3 hours.
VOL: We are close to their rivals quickling clan. we went up far enough to avoid them, but we could still hit a patrol.
everyone is exhausted, you think its been 12 hours since you left the entrance, with the fight and walking, everyone is getting cranky.
Chance: Chan: well lets stop and take a rest I think we all need it. We don’t need another fight at the moment. Let’s get something to eat, drink and you can show us how these Egg things work.
DMaster: Volca glances over.
VOL: sure, but it would be better if we were at the river.
Everyone pulls out a ration and drinks from their skins. Volca is sharing some food with the quicklings, chatting with them. You can see the shoulders and head of the quicklings, not much else, the weeds are that high.
Chance: Chan: Let’s try and get a little shut eye.
Grabbing for my bedroll. Sure someone will end up waking me up saying I sleep like the dead.
DMaster: DM: Todd rolls a 14 for sleep, not bad.
Lue wakes you up,
LUE: time to get moving
Chance: Nod my head and give her a small smile. Roll back up my bedroll and get ready again, shield on my arm and Silent Fate out.
DMaster: You get to the river, odd you don’t hear any rushing water or anything. Once you are there, it is sludgy liquid moving at a slower pace than you expected, it is pretty wide. The other bank is a good 35-40 feet away. It smells like, earth when it rained too much and with some mildew thrown in, not terrible but not exactly potpourri.
Chance: Follow the river hoping we find this bridge Volca was talking about.
DMaster: Volca stops the group at the river, as you are starting to walk North she clears her throat loudly. You stop, turn around and walk back. She grabs her egg: opens the small top portion of it, finds a safe place to get close to the sludge, puts it in there, waits. Pulls it out, then comes back to the group
VOL: The sludgy shit goes in this end.
Pointing at the opening. She closes it, then tips it upside down and starts violently shaking it. It looks like the egg is split in half, and connected. She then turns half the egg a little until there is a click. Then turns the egg back over, finishes the split of the egg. Thick multi colored goo dripping, she walks away begins to whipping it around letting the sludge fly out. Then returns, opens the other end, pours the bottom half into a makeshift cup. Looks to be about 4 ounces. She sniffs it, shrugs her shoulders and takes a sip. Shrugs her shoulders again and passes the cup around.
Chance: look at the cup as it is handed to me and look into it.
DMaster: it has a murky look, almost like oil on top of water, it doesn’t smell like anything. you take a sip. It’s heavy, a bit gritty but doesn’t taste like anything
Chance: Making sure we don’t need to use the second egg just yet, not really ready to drink this. Sigh a bit knowing eventually we are going to have to drink this anyways.
DMaster: You have 1/4th of a skin and a another full one left, as does most of the group. Volca is doing this a few times filling up another skin for herself. Then you can see a creature going down the river, as does most, like a fish of some sort.
VOL: Wonder what the hell that is, probably just the under earth’s fish, I guess
Chance: nod my head at Volca.
Chan: well let’s continue moving, shall we?
DMaster: The group heads along the river, another spire to the northwest is coming into view. A few more trees / weed things.
DM: Todd rolls a “2”, Encounter!
You are walking along and there seems to be some patches of a nicer area, even a flower or two of sorts. One of the quicklings starts to walk towards it, then jumps in the air yelping. Both of them dart off yelling. Volca grabs her long dagger and stops the party, pushing them back a bit.
Chance: Tighten my grip around silent fate looking around.
Battle Written Out
Out of the ground comes these creatures, you are not sure you can even describe it, tentacles, it walks using the multitude of tentacles and they are now currently blocking your path. Once there was a slight smell of mud and weirdness, now is a pungent smell of decay and death. Everyone covers their faces a bit from the dust that wafts towards them. They are about 8 feet wide, stand roughly 7 feet high. Are a 360 degree monster, no real front, no real back. 20 or more vine like tentacles, a brown, muddy, gory mess in the middle and it looks like a few creatures are stuck in its underbelly, some being Quicklings.
TOP OF ROUND ONE
Two Sludge Mounds, Chance has to use most of his turn to change over with Luella. He also puts the bark on.
Chance and Luella connect. (Todd rolls a 15) and the quarter elf changes into the Champion in perfect fashion. He almost pushes Luella away as he rushes the closest Sludge Mound. The tentacles all flailing, in a somewhat organized fashion, one you might think is a way of communicating with other mounds. The smell hits him and he grimaces a bit. As he swings Silent Fate, he realizes he does not know where to strike at it. Watching the tentacles he rips through two of them. One severs all together, the other only cuts it about halfway (11hp of damage). A green weird puss flies out.
Luella recovering from the Champions push, fumbles around her pouch, grabs a rope and puts it around her neck. Her body glows for a short time giving her added protection. She also backs up a good 15 paces, keeping herself in magic range, but out of an immediate attack.
Volca is just standing still, her mind racing. Not sure whether to attack with her plethora of daggers and short swords along with a crossbow, or take a round to get her reaper blade set. Looking over the size of the creatures and the tentacles that could be a bother if you got to close she decides to disengage, and back up 10 feet to put her blade together.
Inasatra ripping out her sword, wide eyes and furring her brow at the smell is taken by surprise by the first mound with an extra long tentacle that slaps her. Each tentacles has 4-5 inch fleshy vines that have poison in and on them. Hits her across the shoulder / neck area with such a force it almost twirls her around. Her eyes huge at the pain and suddeness of the hit (17hp of damage, failed CON save). With her experience and senses now full throttle she rolls as another tentacle zings over head. A small cloud of dust forms around them. Always keeping an eye on the creature she lost sight of all the tentacles with the dust and another one slams on top of her head, making her see stars (13hp of damage failed CON save).
A little pissed off, Inasatra twirls her blade, slams her hand against the hilt and it erupts in a green electric snap. With speed that was hard to see, she slashes three times at the mound; the first one rips through the largest tentacle making the creature shutter a bit, green puss flying (14hp of damage), Another that rips through some of the underbelly, a bone or two falls out along with a mound of dirt (11hp of damage) and the last slash somehow misses the creatures tentacles as it desperately tries to protect itself.
Sincere winds his great war hammer up and slams it into the mound, but unfortunately the creature is made to withstand a lot of bludgeoning attacks. It makes some dirt shake loose, maybe a skull dropped out (5hp of damage).
Twirling her dual bladed battle staff, to help protect her from any wandering tentacle, she gets close enough to the second one and begins to rip into the tentacles, a few fly off the creature (8hp) and she ends with a surged thrust, like Helkyr taught her into the main part of the creature making it dip a bit losing focus on the tentacles holding it up (5hp of damage).
The Witchblade backs off enough for the creature to go after Chance. With the bark, Chance stands tall, only to get a large tentacle right into the face. He expected a little push but unfortunately it pierced the bark, making him wince and scowl (taking 13hp of damage, made his CON save). With a reactionary move he blocks another tentacle with his shield, the creature the snaps another hitting him square in the chest only sending him back a step and nothing more.
Demi, who is very confused as to what she is looking at gets close enough to take a few slashes with her battle axe and she hit. Once in the edge of the body (6hp of damage) and another tentacle bites the dust, sending it flying along with stinky green ooze (7hp of damage).
TOP OF ROUND TWO
Two Sludge Mounds, Chance has one more round of bark, Luella has 6 more rounds of additional AC.
Chance eyeing the closest one up lunges for it, hits a bone on the ground from the mound that it expelled and he slides, he catches himself, rights his ship but his turn just sails on by. Smooth move shit stain (rolls a 1 – lost turn). The Champion keeps his eyes on the tentacles, and gets into a defensive stance, but not before a loud exasperated sigh comes from the Odius.
Luella, raises her hand, some component following her hand up, she write a symbol with her other hand and she says “eldritch.” An arcane energy emerges from her hand and slams into the closest mound (4hp of damage).
Volca, now ready is racing for the second one, putting the final touches on her reaper and she slices through a few tentacles and bit of its body (13hp of damage) then twirls again hitting it again (11hp of damage).
The mound continues it’s assault on the champion. Hitting him from all sides but not getting through the bark. It almost senses that it is not hurting the thing in front of it, and it surges a little and that was a mistake. The Champion took advantage and slashes through a good portion of the body making it recoil and make an odd muffled sound (11hp of damage).
Inasatra, unfamiliar with the creature figures to stay with what works and slashes at the first mound. One of the tentacles blocked her attack and that took her by surprise, she stumbles back a bit and regains her focus on these smelly things.
Sincere raises his hands up, gripping his Animax symbol tight. A faint glow rips through the orange like hue, to Sincere and he redirects it, standing firm as it pushes him back a little. It strikes the second creature making it repel back, tentacles now flailing more wild (32hp of radiant damage).
Like Tentacle porn, Talia is fending off an some random ones that are trying to get after her. Though she misses her attack her superior die helps her get her feetwork right and ready for any further attacks.
The mound makes an unpredictable move and gets close enough to Sincere after he gave it a radiant ass beating. One of the tentacles slaps off the Cleric another he parries with a hammer but could not stop it from getting one across the neck, piercing his skin (24hp of damage failed CON save). The War Cleric mumbles something about being smelly and should burn in the hottest of animaxes fire.
Red faced and worried that these things could do anything, Demis surges and pulls out her extra attack. She gets right into the frey, (1hp to Demi, CON save made) slicing and slashing the one creature making it stutter with its tentacle movement and dip a few times from its stance. Dirt, bones, weird green puss and who knows what else flying out (15,12,5 and 10HP of damage). “And… that is how it’s done!” Volca yells, wide smile.
TOP OF ROUND THREE
Two Sludge Mounds, not doing so hot. Chance loses his bark, Luella has 5 more rounds of additional AC.
In a sudden shutter and odd resounding groan… the two mounds together drop to the ground and a massive cloud of green spew, mist like substance explodes out of them.
Hit points of damage: Chance took 13, Demi takes 11, Inasatra takes 13, Luella gets 21 points of damage and is prone next round, Sincere takes 19 and is prone next round, Talia takes 15 and Volca takes 11.
Everyone coughing and waving their hands in the air… when a large glowing quarter elf rips through the dust slashing with precision and skill. His eyes on the center of the mound that is now lower to the ground his sword digs so deep and rips through with such force, a skeleton, a shit load of dirt and green spew goes flying (rolled a crit, 13hp of damage). Without Chance even knowing the sword swings itself, ripping through a few tentacles, now that he found himself deep into the creatures maw (10hp of damage). Then swinging around he smashes through what he thinks is the innards of the mound, making the one side of it tilt and stammer (8hp of damage). With the last thrust, and with speed the group was amazed by he drives his sword deeper than it should, almost up to his elbow. The creature just stops moving and falls lifeless to the ground (killing blow 10hp of damage). Ripping his sword and arm out, he turns to look for the other one with a deep guttural growl.
Before he could focus on anything Inasatra has already pegged the last creature with an arrow sending it backwards and upside down, killing it (8hp of damage).
Turn Based Picks Back Up Here
Chance: knowing full well my champ form will be ending soon I will heal those that I can me included.
DMaster: You don’t have a lot in the tank, you used your healing within 24 hours; after the last battle.
Chance: well, I heal what I can.
DMaster: You heal yourself good, that’s it. Sincere heals up what he can with his limited power.
Chance: I am sure right after I heal up I go back to normal feeling the drain. Checking on the rest of the group afterwards.
DMaster: VOL: Lets find a place, we need to rest.
Chance: Chan: I couldn’t agree more.
DMaster: You guys move in from the river, find some high weeds and grab some drink, food, bedrolls being put out.
Chance: Set up a watch in intervals for those that are in better shape.
DMaster: Sleep was not easy to come by, noises and the Quicklings had a little skirmish with a rival gang.
Chance: grumbling when I wake up, about the damn Quicklings.
DMaster: VOL: Guess we are moving on.
Most people are close to their max hp now. You do have healing potions Khamyra gave you, remember.
Chance: I will use them sparingly when needed.
Chan: let’s try to find this damn bridge.
DMaster: VOL: Well,
DM: Condensing. They go over the options, and to make it quick. It did not go well. So we ended the session early because of it. Below is the few things that came out of the last 45 minutes of issues.
Chance: Chan: okay, maybe get away from the river, but follow its path that leads to the bridge. I don’t want to encounter anymore of whatever the hell those things were.
DMaster: The group moves even farther a ways from the river. Starts moving North. The spire behind them slowly moving away, a new one to the North West, just barely visible. The fields are still mostly of wheat and weird brown weeds. You move far enough until Inasatra stops the party.
INA: I can see the bridge.
Everyone squinting and trying to see.
VOL: Damn, good eyes…
INA: Hmmm, looks to be inhabited. Things are there. Humanoids, can’t tell what, probably couldn’t tell you if I was face to face. Guarding the bridge perhaps? Armed with halberds, pole arms at least, Wearing hoods, walking funny.
VOL: Shit
The Odius turn to the Quicklings who rejoined, they have some conversation. Volca turns to the party.
VOL: The Helix has the bridge, at least that’s what the lil’ shits say.
Chance: Chan: Volca do you think we could use something from these weird trees to go down the river and use the quicklings if they were willing to help distract the Helix?
DMaster: Volca and the party just gives you big eyes and a look of disbelief.
VOL:float down the river? ummm. I am just going to say… no.
Chance: Chan: I mean why not, they wouldn’t expect that would they?
DMaster: Talia tugs on your sleeve a bit, trying to get you to shut up. When you glancing down she is shaking her head.
VOL: They would see us right away, with the speed of the river it would take forever to get there an I have no idea if they will float. I would never try to cross the river away from the bridge, its like quicksand.
Chance: Chan: well then we take a small detour and try to remain hidden and move back towards the town you said you think the Helix is in control of and then head directly north but not getting near the town.
DMaster: VOL: That is the smartest thing you’ve said all day, even though it was one hell of a run on sentence.
She looks to you and the group, moves you back a ways. Inasatra helping guide the group to stay out of visual range of the bridge and the humanoids called the helix. It seemed to have worked
VOL: Now what Champ, head north?
Chance: Chan: yes we head North, now that we are now out of their line of sight
as we continue North I will remain rather quiet going over everything in my head that has happened up to this point
DMaster: You get to the road way and it is all clear, you cross it and continue to head north. You have been walking, fairly quickly for about 5-6 hours from moving east, to moving north.
Chance: Chan: Volca is there somewhere up ahead from what you can recall that will give us some cover so we can stop and rest?
DMaster: The group looks tired
VOL: Maybe another 3 hours to get to the base of the hills. Think we can make it?
Chance: Chan: I think we should, take a long rest in better cover then… group?
Glance back to them.
DMaster: The group gets together and nods their head.
TAL: I think we will be fine. Lets get to the base of the hills, I could go for a long nap.
Chance: nod head, sigh and get Volca to move us onward.
DMaster: you make it to the base of the hills, and find a good place to camp. Good protection from most angles.
Chance: get everyone Situated and let them set up so they can rest and eat and then go over a watch rotation, so as to make sure everyone can get in full amount of sleep.
