First Five Begins Now

Chance riding for Velencia'sChance heads for home, but halfway there decides to take a detour. Something he has been wanting to do for a while, and it is high time he did it.

At a full gallop he rides for 10-12 minutes north, to the Temple of Finster’s entrance.

He jumps off of Toby and approaches two men, who appear to be guarding the Temple’s valley entrance. “Begone, we are not expecting visitors and…” the one man started to say, when his eyes bulged.

Chance has turned over to full Champion mode and is just standing there staring at them.

“M’Lord, come in,” they both say, over talking each other with wide eyes and bowing a bit.

Not a word was uttered by the quarter elf as he walked to the makeshift entrance of Velencia’s and made his trek down the long winding corridor.

What Rawek looked like in his hay dayWalking into the compound of Velencia, only to see Rawek standing in the crossways, looking over a scroll, leaning heavily on his staff.

“Rawek, my good man, it is nice to see you,” Chance says approaching the Kenku.

He starts a bit, and glances over to what the Champion can only imagine is a chuckle, in a bird voice.

“Gave me a fright, my Champion,” he says, giving the man a small bow, “I did not know you were coming.”

He smiles, “I am here on a whim, I would like to talk with Velencia,” Chance finishes giving the bird an odd look, seeing him not in the best of health.

Rawek nods his head, a bit confused, but beckons him on.

“Are you OK, Rawek?” the quarter elf asks, giving the bird-man a concerned look.

He smirks, as much as a bird can, “I’ve been better, have a lot on my plate, but I’ll survive…” the dark small figure says, trailing off.

The Kenku leads him to a different corridor and opens a set of double doors. It leads into this wildly decorated room, glass ceiling, tapestries, and overly expensive furniture. There sitting on a half couch is Velencia, sipping on what appears to be bean water, looking over multiple scrolls and parchments.

Velencia curious why the chump is hereShe glances up, and a scowl & surprised look comes across her face.

“Chump…” she starts out, putting her cup on the end table, “come here to ruin my day, already.”

Shaking his head Chance stops and softly smiles, “thank you Rawek, appreciate you leading me to her.”

The tone of the voice let the bird know to just leave. He nods, bows a bit and leaves the room; closing the double doors behind him, wondering if he will be cleaning up blood later on.

Velencia is in what appears to be a nightgown, somewhat see-through. She stands up giving the Champion a look over, realizing he is alone.

“I have come to ask a favor,” Chance says, stumbling a bit on the words.

The High Priestess clenches her jaw, stopping herself from jumping all over that, remembering Khamyra’s face when they were arguing the day before.

After a moment, “unlike your royals, I can’t mind read, out with it,” Valencia retorts, now an eyebrow raised.

Chance chuckles, “ironic you mention that,” he starts out with, “I will never reveal your location or anything else relating to it, but…”

The Priestesses eyes start to bulge again, now suddenly worried about her safety and privacy.

“As you mentioned some of the Royals do have mind reading capabilities, I was hoping you could create something to block that,” the Champion continues, “plus, it just really pisses me off.”

Velencia lets her shoulders down a little, relieved this was just a request and not a doomsday visit. She had little worry about the outcome of any battle with Camerondale, but uprooting, relocating, finding others to serve her… she did not have time for, hell she barely had time to eat anymore, let alone battle.

“That,” she says, starting to walk towards him, “is a damn good idea,” she finishes giving him a look.

She glances at his necklace, and sees he is wearing too many rings already, “I have been experimenting on a few things, some being tattoos, care to be a guinea pig for my experiments? or I should say we, Rawek has been instrumental with everything as of late.”

Nodding his head thinking that could work, permanently block from being read would be amazing.

“He wasn’t looking too great, though,” Chance says glancing at the Priestess who also looks a bit worn.

“Well, he is a father now, to a cackle of offspring,” she says with a slight muse to her tone, “I am sure you know that look, raising not just one child but multiple.”

Chance lets out a little laugh and then nods his head, “ahh, yes, yes. I guess I did recognize that look.”

“Give me a day or two and I will have something for you,” she says turning to give him another curious look, “anything else? Do we need to keep this secret from Khamyra?”

Letting Velencia know there are no secrets between him and KhamyraThe Champion turns and gives her an uncharacteristic smile, “nope, no secrets between me and my Warlock, that was all I came to ask for,” he says, starting to leave.

“Wait,” Velencia barks, “I think we need to be a little more mindful of Khamyra in our little sparring matches, when we get a bit annoyed with each other,” she says giving him a stern look.

Chance doesn’t say a word but emphatically nods his head.

“So, a truce on the bitch-fest front with Khamyra around?” she says opening one of the double doors.

“Truce,” the large man says, “Or I will make myself scarce, though with the Black Ward, that will not be hard to do…”

The dark haired, tattooed woman nods, sticks her head out the door, “Rayven!!”

Within a few seconds, the Velencia mini-me stumbles down the corridor, wiping her mouth from breakfast, “Yes, M’lady?”

“Show Chance out will you, and get me my breakfast…” Velencia says with a huff and a dramatic turn; she walks back to her half couch.

The large man is escorted out, to the tunnels where he dismisses the poor servant girl of Velencia’s. He makes his way back out, only to get approached by Hamza.

Hamza, worried for a second about Chance“My Champion,” Hamza says with a respectful bow, “where is…” he starts looking around, “Khamyra?”

The Champion snorts a bit and shakes his head slowly walking for his horse, “she is back home I guess, I just needed to talk with the Priestess.”

Hamza’s eyes get big and stops you, leans in and quietly asks, “is she still alive?”

Chance lets out a loud laugh as he stops walking and looks at the shorter man in front of him.

“Yes, yes, although we despise each other, she is part of this as much as I am,” Chance says repeating what Velencia said on his wedding night, “Finster would literally have my ass if I did anything to her.”

They exchange pleasantries and Chance heads back for home.

The Warlock always glad to see her hubbyKhamyra is finishing organizing her papers, scrolls and books. She lets out a deep sigh looking them over knowing just how much work there is still to be done.

The door opens, she glances over and an instant smile goes on her face seeing her husband.

“Mornin’, still, I suppose,” Chance says striding over to his wife, who stands up and embraces him.

Novalee sticks her head out of the bathroom, “still some porridge on the stove for you!” she belts out, dipping back into the room to finish cleaning herself up.

The Warlock sits with Chance as he gets ready to eat some breakfast, “so what did they say?” she asks in a quiet tone, very curious.

“Well the Royals are sending me out on a dig up in Magus Orion,” he says reluctantly knowing this is not going to sit well with her.

“Ohh,” she says somewhat shocked, her eyes big for a moment then looks down. “Well, that… sounds interesting,” she eeks out trying to sound supportive.

“And as expected, I got a paddle to my ass with the Black Ward already,” Chance says, starting in on the luke warm porridge.

Khamyra rubs his arm, giving him a look over noticing he doesn’t seem too upset right now.

“Got what they call a 90 day write up, if I keep my nose clean for 90 days they will throw that out,” he says, taking a few spoonfuls of the breakfast, “but needless to say, Cap was not happy with me.”

She smirks a bit, “well… you may not last long with them then, huh?” she was barely able to finish without giggling.

Shaking his head as he wipes his mouth, “yeah, laugh riot,” Chance says a bit annoyed.

After a few large spoonfuls of porridge, almost spitting out his food remembering, “oh, yeah, I went to visit Velencia…”

Chance wipes his mouth again, glances over to Khamyra who is stunned, ridged and is looking at you with worrisome eyes.

The Champion chuckles, “it was all good, in fact we made a truce about being bitchy with each other,” he says looking straight to his wife, “I wanted her to find a way to block my mind from being read.”

A surprise look turned to a small smile, as well as a look of relief washing over Khamyra’s face. “So, is she going to help with that? Actually that is a great idea…”

Chance nods and smiles, finishes off his porridge and pushes the bowl forward.

“She said the same thing, I think she was as grateful as that bitch can be, knowing I am doing everything I can to keep her place a secret,” the quarter elf says in a semi-rant, “but I don’t think Camerondale would try anything with her, not with what Cassie and Bastian now know…”

Khamyra gives the man a hug, and a kiss on the cheek. The morning goes on as the couple spends some time with the Kids and Sisse.

“I am taking the kids to Cullun’s for the afternoon, I want you to go get some rest, ok?” Khamyra says as she is packing a sack full of baby gear.

Chance smiles at his wife, “Thank you love, I am getting pretty tired,” he responds.

The Warlock nods her head, “I can tell, now go get some sleep, the only one here will be Novalee for the afternoon.”

The Champion heads up to the loft and falls into the huge comfy bed. Within minutes he was fast asleep.

Novalee accidently dropping a pan“Clank!” comes from downstairs as the Champion rips out of bed, dagger drawn looking around, roughly 5 hours later.

All he could hear is, “well… shit,” coming from Novalee, in the Kitchen.

Chance calms down, sits on the edge of the bed and takes a deep breath, then slides the Knife back under his pillow. Stretching a bit, he can hear soft footsteps coming up the stairs.

“Oh, you are up?” Khamyra says peering over the railing.

The Champion gives her a goofy look, “yeah, you think? The bed post almost got a knife in the gullet too…”

She smiles, “It is almost 5:00PM, we couldn’t wait any longer to make dinner, especially for the kids and I know you have to get going soon.”

Cullun have dinner with everyoneHe could hear a baby giggle come from down in the kitchen, and the Champion gets a huge smile on his face, “OK, time to go snuggle some kiddo’s”

The couple heads downstairs once the Champion is dressed and they spend time with the Kids, with Novalee, Cullen and Dash as well as Sisse. Have a good dinner, and relax a bit.

Chance sighs, looks to Khamyra who is talking with Novalee, and giggling over some sort of comment they just exchanged. “I have to go, I have to get there a bit early and sign off on those papers, then we are going over the new plan for tonight…” the Champion says getting up.

They all nod to him, as he heads up stairs grabs his gear that he brought home and headed back down to the front door.

Khamyra is there to give him a hug, a long kiss and a parting slap on the ass for good measure.

Chance makes it to the City, on an overcast, muggy evening and more dark than it should be for this time of day. He pays his copper at the stable, heads inside and to the compound. Upon entering, the floor is swamped with agents, scribes, etc. Not totally unusual, but for almost 7 PM, it is a lot. Most likely due to the project going on.

Killian getting a little ribbing from ChanceHe makes his way through, only to get intercepted by the largest man in the room, “Hey Kid!” Killian bellows making his way to him.

The Champion turns to him, big smile, “Killian, nice to see you, enjoy your vacation?” he says with a bit of zing to it.

“Paw!” the big man gasps, “wish it was, it was long, tedious and boring…”

Cybil walking by giggles, “that’s what she said…”

Killian stops dead in his tracks, wide eyes, a smile forming on his face. “Cybil, why I never…” he says, giving her a playful glance.

She is just shaking her head, high tailing it back to her desk, in between the many people on the floor.

“Just wanted to welcome you back, I missed you,” the Goliath says with true sincerity, “time to mix things up!”

Chance already knowing he has done just that, does not want to give away anything, responds “Not exactly my intention you big lug, but I will do what I can!”

With a hearty slap on Chance’s back, the big man tromps off down the steps to the offices and the quarter elf finds his way to Valentines.

Before he could even peer in, Chance can hear, “come in, close the door. I think we could of heard Killian from Vermeer at least…” the Lead Assassin says with a bit of muse to her tone.

The quarter elf walks in, closes the door, and sits to where the Assassin points. “Hope you got some sleep, it’s going to be a long night,” she starts out talking.

Chance nods his head, and glances up to Valentine who is just looking at him. After a tense few moments.

“Did I forget something?” He comments, the Champion starts to say something else, but gets interrupted.

Dealing with her least favorite member, Chance“How is Velencia doing?” she says, not taking her eyes off of the young Ward agent, having a heavy tone with him.

Scoffing a bit, Chance looked down and shook his head.

Valentine, still staring, “well?”

“She is still a bitch,” Chance responds in a playful tone, but seeing the serious look on the Assassins face, he straightens up.

“I was floored to be approached by an agent asking about you and why you were at the Finster Temple,” she continues, “full well knowing there is some sort of entrance to her hide-out around there, and you were probably meeting her. I had to lie and say you were under-cover, or something.”

She then shakes her head, “how am I supposed to respond to those questions?” the Assassin says, and continues, “why is it ok for you to waltz into a compound that we have been scouting for over a half year, and not helping us bring her down? How is that going to look for me, hell, for all of us? We are actively pursuing the enemy, except Chance, he gets a pass with this one… oh and brunch privileges to boot.”

The Champion scowls more, knowing Velencia always seems to screw things up for him, but retorts, “because it is my religion, my belief and if I was to defy that, betray them? What kind of man would I be? A good Black Ward soldier that betrays his own religion he has helped create… for what, a bit of information that will lead thousands to their death? How would “that” look?” he finishes kind of loudly, not backing down, much to the surprise of Valentine.

Slamming her hand on the desk, “the position you put us in again, is unacceptable,” Valentine starts out, “how do you want us to react to this? I mean really?” she rants with a red face and a bit of disgust.

Chance stands, defiantly, much to the dismay of his direct boss, bringing in intimidation and with a bit of his eyes starting to light up, “you knew what you were getting into when you signed me back up, with all due respect, I suggest you learn to deal with it. I am not some run of the mill guard, I come with a lot of important information, important royal and religious connections and oh yeah, one hell of a punch.”

Valentine stands, leaning forward, hands on her desk and red faced, seething with anger, “I didn’t want you back Chance,” she says through her teeth, the heavy breath sifting through her cuspids, “I have been against it, even before you reapplied, you are far too young, frustratingly unpredictable and to be completely honest; untrained. The uncertainty you bring to every mission, every day, can be scary. But I was overruled because of the current circumstances this world is in, you have the inside slant on a ton of things we barely know anything about. Plus, Killian wants to mix things up, for some asinine reason.”

The tall quarter elf is a little taken aback by her revelation, he shakes his head and stands up straight not realizing he had some light shooting out of his eyes during that.

Valentine fed up with the ChampionShe has her hands on her hips and just shaking her head. “Any other agent I would have them written up and sent home for this little insubordination, but… I don’t dare do that, I will be singled out that I am trying to ‘get rid of you’ because I was so against it… but I will only take so much from you. Eventually you will have to get in line with our ideals or…” the Assassin gives the man a dark look to finish her thought.

The Champion, stunned at what happened and his knee jerk reaction. He is frantically trying to figure out how to save this conversation, if it is at all possible with someone who doesn’t even want him here.

After a few awkward moments, with a cold powerful tone, the Assassin leader asks, “Why were you at the Temple? Or her compound? Chance, I deserve to know that, at least.”

Chance shrugs his shoulders, “I needed to ask a favor of her,” he says, somewhat distant, looking down and trying to stay focused on the conversation.

Valentine looks over, eyes bigger, and her eyebrow raised, “Oh, do tell.”

“I asked for the ability to block people from reading my mind, I do not like it and I find it very intrusive,” he says, then making sure he is rubbing it in, continues, “since I am the Champion of the Court of Camerondale, and deal with the Queen and the Baroness frequently, I thought it wise to try and block them, so they do not learn something they shouldn’t.”

Pausing a moment then utters reluctantly, “well, it is not a bad idea at least,” Valentine says, “but you are going to have to be much more subtle visiting her anymore, or hey I don’t know… quit working with one of our major enemies?” Finishing with a heavy sarcastic tone.

He shakes his head, doing everything in his power not to snap back, pauses a moment to think, “I am not going to apologize for visiting the High Priestess of my religion that I am a figure head of, whether or not she is a cancerous louse of a bitch or not.”

Valentine is trying to calm down and doesn’t know what else to say. She just pushes a paper to the tall man, her face still flushed, exhaustion apparent, and points at the quill and ink well.

Chance grabs the quill, who is also trying to calm down, quickly signs his name and then straightens up. He now realizes why Valentine has been cold and confrontational since he rejoined.

Still shaking her head, the Assassin grabs the paper, rolls it up, “get to the floor, asap.”

“Should I gear up first?” he says, turning towards the door.

With a loud and annoyed tone, “did I say to gear up? No. Floor. Now.” is the only response he gets from Valentine, still shaking a bit from her anger.

Chance leaves, then sighs loudly as he makes his way to the floor that is now much more organized. It reminded him of when the royals were in town. He has so much on his mind now, and serious doubts about his future in the Ward; Still reeling from Valentines announcement that she did not want him back.

Valentine and Garret make their way past Chance and to the floor where Captain Harlow is on a chair with Killian by her side. Looks like the Announcements are going to start.

“Day 6 people. They hit a high end brownstone in the northern section, so needless to say we did not get much from last night,” the busty woman says, looking down at her notes, “but one of our outside agents, Miss Harper, came up with an idea and we think we have it fleshed out enough to make it work.”

Outside agent, Harper with an ideaHarper makes her way to the chair and Killian helps her up, she gets dragged down a second and you can here the Captain tell her to “not to be all pretty or some shit.” The room giggles knowing full well her powers.

“Hi” she says with a cute smile, “I just pitched the idea of disguises. We wanted to make sure we had all the eyes dotted and tee’s crossed, as they say, to implement this. So, instead of sitting in one spot all night hoping they come along, we can roam the city and especially the high risk areas, dressed as your average farmer, or a peasant, or a jeweler, or a…”

Harlow nudges her a bit and she stops, looks down and smirks.

“So we have disguises for 12 agents, please go to Bastians office to pick them up, Cybil will help out, that includes Garrett…” she starts to ramble off names and Harper ends with “…and, oh, Chance? He is back? Where is that tall, dark and muscular man?”

The blonde woman looking about the floor as most eyes make it to the quarter elf.

Standing with his arms crossed, blushing, leaning against the wall, Chance ends up nodding to Harper in respect in hopes to end this little embarrassing fandango quickly.

Harlow sighs loudly, glances at Killian who is about to burst out laughing.

The Captain, grabs Harper off the chair, steps up in her place, “when you pick up your outfit, you will get a map and that will be your primary route, so do not stray from this route unless you have a damn good reason. We designed it to be the most expansive we could, to try and keep an eye on the most real estate we can. Carry as many concealed weapons as you can, and if you can find a way to have your primary do it, but, authenticity is vital, not being strapped for war is not.”

Bastian keeping pace with the meetingBastian hands the Captain a note, she glances at it and nods.

“Again, there will be the mini crossbow with the flare bolt, with a whistle, if you see them, and you better be damn sure, fire both of them up and head on in. Agents will be right behind you in a moments time,” the woman says who looks very stressed.

The floor disperses and there is a surge for Bastian’s office. Chance waits patiently and finally reaches the table with the disguises on. Cybil is there looking things over.

“Chance, you are a farmer,” the stout blonde manager says, grabbing a wad of clothing and handing it to the Champion.

Cybil glances up, “sorry for the smell, we have to be authentic.” A smell of horse, cowshit and sweat wafts into Chances nose and he coughs a bit.

“As if my day couldn’t get any better, smelling ass,” the Champion says grabbing it and then the map, “might as well put me in Killian’s bathroom for the night.”

Without hesitation and expression, Cybil responds, “oh no, you would be dead.”

The table erupts with laughter, as the manager tries to calm them down, giggling herself. “Take your main weapon and then anything you can conceal. Keep that sword from dangling, making noise or even being seen. Don’t care how you do it, just do it.”

Nodding his head, Chance grabs the map and makes it to his office, takes another quick sniff and gags a little.

“What the fuck am I doing, I mean really?” he starts to think to himself, “back in the Ward, unwanted by my boss, screwing things up for them, wearing shit stained clothing and for what?”

Reluctantly he changes and gears up for what looks to be a long night of walking.

Turn Based Starts Here

DMaster: You are walking out of the compound, with people looking at you funny… because you smell like unwashed buttcheeks. Doesn’t seem like a terrible night to be out and about in regards to weather. You have your sword, awkwardly strapped to your leg, a boot dagger and another one hidden. You could run with the sword attached, but doing complex moves could be an issue with it. In one hand though, you have what looks to be a bag of produce, some lettuce coming out; in it is the small crossbow and the flare arrow and the whistle. There are also some rations. Along with the hidden weapons you have the “cuffs” which are hand cuffs made with tough leather and thick rope.

Chance: Making sure the weapons I take with me can’t be seen. Then I will head for the route I will be taking, trying not to smell myself. Still, with the thoughts going around in my head over my little talk with Valentine.

DMaster: You start in on your route.
8:00PM. (Todd rolls a 5) You are walking through the streets, a few people take notice of you from the smell, but otherwise nothing.
9:00PM. (DM roll) Nothing, you have made it around once, and starting in on your second round.

Chance: keep walking along as I scan the area, trying to do it in a way as to not be obvious

DMaster: Continuing on.
10:00PM. (Todd rolls a 5) Still nothing. There are fewer and fewer people walking around. Oddly you have seen the guard patrol but they seem to be avoiding you, you think that is for everyone so there is no confusion. At least you hope. Or they are avoiding you because you smell
11:00PM. (DM roll – nothing) You take a drink, a few bites and piss in an alleyway.

Chance: Shaking my head knowing damn well it has to be from my stench, I keep moving

Wedmak High Moon (Wednesday)

DMaster: Moving…
High Moon. (Todd rolls a 10) Nothing. walking along, your legs are starting to feel it, and they said you could sit for a minute now and again.

Chance: I will take a minute or two to find a spot to sit and give my legs a break. Still scanning the area make it seem like I am a farmer or some shit.

DMaster: You get up and keep moving.
1:00AM. (My roll a 3) You are walking along closer to the City inner walls and you can hear a scuffle. It is down an alleyway that you pass by.

Chance: Knowing full well I am not to deviate from the path, I will keep going and move on but peek down the alleyway it is happening in.

DMaster: You see two men fighting, they seem a bit tipsy… but guards are coming from the other direction, so it’s taken care of.

Chance: Smirk and keep moving along the route.

DMaster: You are about the fifth or sixth time on the route, you are losing track.
2:00AM. (Todd rolls a 13) It’s a decent night. Cloudy, the mugginess is fading away a little.

Chance: Still letting things go over in my head, with the resounding “she didn’t want me back” replaying over and over. Getting a little angry.

DMaster: DM: Rolls a 1. Then as you round a corner for the 10th time it seems, it has to be about 3:30am. “WHEEE!” is heard, that being the whistle and you see a flare go up, looks to be about 5 blocks from you.

Chance: Seeing the flare, my eyes get big and I make my way towards where it went up.

DMaster: You hightail it towards the flare.

Chase Written Out

Chance makes his way down an alleyway, running at a pretty good clip. Thoughts of running into people or even getting a little lost, is in the back of his mind.

Chance heads down an alleywayWhat he feels is about 3 blocks away, he dips down another alleyway only to see a hooded figure running full throttle towards him. The alleyway is completely clear, about 12 feet wide and the walls go up about 20 feet. The lanterns on the main roadway shine in a bit at the entrance of the open corridor, giving the Champion a bit of confusion with his dark vision.

Under the hood of this individual there seems to be some sort of colorful paint? “That’s not one of us…” he mumbles, getting himself ready to grapple this person.

Taking out the dagger he has, Chance starts to run towards the person. They notice him right away and in a complete surprise move, the hooded figure jumps 2-3 feet up against the left wall, pushes off and springs to the right wall and that catapults them over the very surprised quarter elf.

The height of Chance made the person over extend and the landing was rough, even stumbled a bit. A female gasp is heard from the hood as the Black Ward member turns to look back.

“Oh my god, take a bath you smelly douche farmer,” the female figure says moving on, only glancing a second to look back.

(DM Todd rolls a 1 – Spitting, laughing cursing ensues)

An idea of what the hooded girl looks likeChance turns to grab this woman and he feels instant pain shoot up his leg as his foot got caught and did not turn with the rest of his leg. The sword not helping at all with the move.

The figure races off down the alleyway he just came from, all the while Chance cursing grabbing his leg.

“Fuck this,” he utters to himself and turns into the Champion, removes the bind to his sword. Light emanates from his eyes, and under his stinky cloak. The Alleyway walls start to reflect the light making weird shadows dance around. The second he turns, the leg is all but healed.

The woman has made it to the entrance down another pathway, but the Champion has turned heel and caught up really quick. She turns and you can see a tuft of light brown hair falling from her hood. Her eyes tell you she is shocked to see you, in champion form and that you are already on top of her.

Chance gives her a toothy grin, and his eyes turn to slits. She doesn’t have a clue as to what is chasing her in this huge city, could be anything. But she knows she is getting close to the market area, and they have some places they can hide there. “I have to get there, just a few more blocks,” she tells herself.

She plants her one foot to start down the alleyway only to get tackled and driven into the wall of that corridor instead. A bit of pain shoots through her shoulder getting tangled with this big and very smelly man.

“Ouch, what are you doing? Get off me you sewer rat!” she yells, wrinkling her nose and trying to break free. But the way she is being straddled by this man, her arms are pinned and even hurt a bit. Still not realizing this is not some thug with weirdo eyes, but a Black Ward member.

Chance, with his dagger in hand, he puts it up to the throat of the girl, her eyes now huge and her expression is of complete fear. She can feel a prick, and a bit of blood start to trickle down her neck.

Looking at her, she looks to be a very pretty girl, lighter brown hair, big eyes and what looks like a painted hand dragged across her face. A smeared hand print of what looks to be a pink color over her nose.

The Champion then growls, a deep guttural growl sensing someone heading his way. Only being 5 feet in from the entrance to this alleyway he knows someone is now creeping up. “Keep moving stranger…” is all the huge glowing man says.

This person did not, and you hear, “Hallie, is that you?” It was quiet and it sounded like a kid said it.

A tad confused, but still threatened, Chance turns his head just a bit to allow his eyes to light up and scare whoever is there.

“Run you idiot, run!” this girl, apparently named Hallie, yells and does it loudly.

Chance tilting his head a bit, the dagger digs in a bit deeper to this pinned girl and she yelps a bit. This triggers the boy behind him to run up and take a swipe.

Barely even looking, the Champion swings his hand across blocking the clumsy swing of what appears to be a short sword. With lightning fast reflexes, Chance grabs his boot dagger and jams it into this mans leg, and it went deep (7hp of damage).

The boy screams in pain, and falls back a bit. Then swings again for this thing on top of Hallie. By now the glowing mans face goes completely dark, just his eyes can be seen under the hood his skin turning to bark. The sword bounces off Chance, doing no damage because of the bark that formed.

Ripping out his dagger, Chance goes after the boy again, but the pain was too much for the young one and he falls on his ass, grasping at his leg, yelling a bit. The boy wheels around and tries to attack again only to go face to face with this, thing.

Blood all around the girls neck areaThe Champion staring the poor kid down, also sees what looks to be a hand print of paint smeared across his face, his color seemed to be green.

“If you want, Hallie, to live, just sit there like a good little boy and shut up,” Chance says, almost not realizing he is saying that. He grabs hold of the girls throat and presses.

By now sounds of footsteps and yelling can be heard.

Hallie’s eyes bulge out of her head and she is trying to get the hand off her throat. She is now thrashing around, making a gurgling sound. The boy is stunned and completely intimidated by Chance.

“I think I heard a yell down here, wait, over there!” you hear a voice and more footsteps and commotion.

Valentine skitters to a halt and her eyes bulge, “Chance! Stand down… NOW!” she yells seeing the scene in front of her. Her mind going a million different directions.

Valentine worried that Chance killed the girlThe Champion gives the Assassin a little growl, then releases the girl from his grip. With guards coming down the other side of the alley he stands and begins to turn back to his normal state. The girl turns to the side and begins to cough and convulse a little. Blood all over her neck.

“Were you going to kill them?” Valentine says, giving the Champion a stern look shaking her head.

Only giving her a look from the corner of his eye, “If need be, it took you long enough to get here…” Chance says.

Clenching her fist, she stares for a moment then realizes she needs to get this scene organized, “to the compound, now, Chance, and for fucks sake, take a goddamn bath.”

A few people giggle after she says that, as the Champion turns and heads down the alleyway.

Back To Turn Based

Chance: taking a whiff of myself, gag a bit and smirk. Then make my way to the compound, mumbling “put me in a stinky outfit, huh?” Getting the idea she did it on purpose. Getting closer to the compound I will make sure to be ready to flash the ring, so I can get inside.

Captain Harlow happy with the resultsDMaster: You get to the Compound which is as busy as you have ever seen it. Extra lanterns, guards, agents, people coming and going. you go through the doors. In the middle of the main room is Captain Harlow, with a smile on her face dressed a bit different, in more civilian clothes than anything. You imagine she just threw on whatever to get to the Compound. She is talking with a few people, getting swamped but still taking the time to hand out “thanks.”
HAR: Good job people, good job!
She is shaking a few peoples hands, patting them on the back. Papers getting handed to her.

Chance: Just try and avoid her, move along the wall to get to my office.

DMaster: HAR: (sniff sniff) Chance? I smell you.
Looks up and over to you.

Chance: Stop and smile, tilt head and point at my clothes.
Chan: Cap, I smell something fierce, let me get out of these things, ok?

DMaster: She nods her head, then is getting information from a runner.

Chance: Head down and get changed. Grab the clothes, head for… well… I can’t keep them in here. Put them in a bag, walk to Valentines office.

DMaster: The door is slightly ajar, looks like she left in a hurry.

Chance: Put the bag of dirty clothes on the chair in front of her desk, open it up just a wee-bit. Put a quick note, “didn’t know where to put the disguise, sorry, Signed Champion of the Court of Camerondale.”
Chan: She wants to saddle me with this, this smell, she can deal with the laundry.
Walk back out to the floor.

DMaster: You still smell but it isn’t bad. Harlow is now looking to be leaving the compound with who you remember as Remi, the Captain of the guards.

Chance: I will make my way over to the Captain

DMaster: She is just about out the door, then sees you, smiles.
HAR: Yes, Chance, good job tonight!
Then looks at you again with your expression.
HAR: (sigh) what is it? Make it quick, we have to get the prisoners organized.

Chance: Chan: We need to have a meeting soon Captain, with the department heads. I have some thoughts I need to get out
looking over and straighten up

DMaster: Remi glances back, eyes bulge a little and has a “oh shit” look on his face. Harlow gives you an odd look of confusion.
HAR: We will talk later, get with Valentine for your orders when she gets back.

Chance: Chan: yes, Captain
Sigh a bit and find Valentine realizing if she somehow made it to her office already, she is going to light me on fire.

DMaster: Luckily, she is just coming in, passing Harlow on her way out. She is talking with Garret and Thanos. For a moment, you think to go over but she seems to be really busy.

Chance: Wait her out.

DMaster: Thanos grabs a chair, wheels it to the middle, then Valentine steps on the chair
VAL: Good job everyone, we can now try and get back to a normal life, a normal schedule. Overnighters the past few days, you are off tomorrow, be back here, Freya 8:00AM – tell all who are not here yet.
She pauses looks around the room and sees you.
VAL: Except you, Chance. Be here at noon.
She jumps down and heads for Bastians lab with Cybil hot on her trail.

Chance: Following behind her

DMaster: (sniff sniff)
VAL: Chance, you have your orders, what else do you want? A pat on your bottom?
She whirls around to meet your gaze. Bags under her eyes, they are bloodshot and glossy. It is very clear she is beyond exhausted. Garret almost running into her, backs off quickly.

Chance: glare at her and shake my head.
Chan: Nevermind.
Turn and head for the door.

DMaster: VAL: Yeah. Good idea. Go home. Bathe.
She turns and walks into Bastian’s lab. Garrett wide eyes looking at the both of you, shrugs his shoulders and follows the assassin. it’s about 5:30AM.

Chance: Mumbling.
Chan: Enjoy my disguise…
I will make my way out of the compound and head for the stables, giggling a little.

DMaster: You get to Toby; even he gives you a little grunt smelling you. You head for home, get home about 5:45. Just a hint of pink on the dark horizon as you put Toby in the pen.

Chance: Quietly make my way into the house, going straight to the bathroom. Stripping down and putting gear just outside the door. Take a long bath with lots of sweet smelly things that Novie likes to pick out back.

Novalee talking with the ChampionDMaster: You are done, smelling good again. Novalee is in the Kitchen when you get out. She is in her usual long shirt, hair up and she seems to always be bopping around in a good mood. It makes you smile a bit.
NOV: Mornin’, Smelly clothes I see. I threw them out back. Rolling around with some cows are we?
She says musefully and quietly.

Chance: Chan: I guess it is morning, Novie.
Giving her a small smile, and sit in a chair at the table.

DMaster: She slides you some tea

Chance: Chan: have you ever wanted to be somewhere, but didn’t feel very welcomed when you were there?

DMaster: She nods her head
NOV: Yes, before I met you, quite often actually
Novalee sits across from you, listening.

Chance: Just looking at the cup.
Chan: well that is the way I am feeling right now, I thought the Ward would be more welcoming than this. I wanted to go back to them to make this world and Camerondale a safer place. (sigh) Maybe I went back to them for all the wrong reasons, I don’t know

DMaster: NOV: I have known you for how long now? Nothing… I mean nothing is easy when it comes to you. This “issue” is no different. Plus, if it was easy and simple, would it even be worth doing?

Chance: Chan: I do have a way of making things much more confusing and difficult than they need to be.
Looking at her and smiling

DMaster: Novalee smirks and nods
NOV: You thrive, you grow on difficulties and adversity. Guess it’s time to pull up the bootstraps, yet again my Champion
She smiles takes a quick sip.

Talking with Novie is always a good ideaChance: Chan: just do the job, I guess. Deal with the shit that is going to be thrown at me, as it comes… is what you are saying Novie? But how do I deal with a boss that doesn’t even want me there? She said so herself.

DMaster: A sly grin crosses her face.
NOV: Make her regret those words, prove her wrong every step.
She smirks, it looks like she is reliving something in her head

Chance: Nod head, take a gulp.
Chan: I guess I am just going to make her eat her words then

DMaster: A big smile goes across her face
NOV: Exactly

Chance: I get up from my chair and walk over and give her a big hug

DMaster: She hugs back

Chance: Chan: thank you for listening to me. I guess you see things from a different perspective, and I always need to hear that.

DMaster: NOV: Hey it’s what I do!
Then you hear outside.
CRY: Get up you slags, todd’s a big flaming bag of poo… it’s 7:00am

Chance: I give her one more hug and make my way upstairs

Twins getting older, starting to talk and shitDMaster: Khamyra is getting the kids up, you two kiss and Sisse comes up to help.
KHA: Get some sleep, hun.

Chance: Look at her and nod my head. Plop down on the bed letting my conversation with Novie run through my mind. Then just close my eyes.

DMaster: You wake up with a fright, you were supposed to be at the compound at noon.

Chance: Get up, stretch and change clothes. Then grab my gear rather quickly.

DMaster: You glance out the window, it looks to be about 1130-ish

Chance: Make my way downstairs, give wife, kids a kiss, grab the sword and few daggers I had. Get to Toby and ride fast to Camerondale.

DMaster: Heavy clouds, feels like it might rain. Unseasonably warm, like 90 degrees right now. You get there and it is about 11:45AM. It is jam packed, people all over the place. DM: Condensing a little. Chance goes and looks for his orders. He is making his way through scribes, and workers, very few agents since they had the day off. Nothing in his office, Valentines office is locked, (wonder why?) so he makes his way to the Captains office.

Chance: Knock on the Captain’s door.

DMaster: It’s open, glancing in you see Cassie is leaning against the wall chatting with Harlow. The Captain has her feet up, mug in hand, smiling
HAR: Oh come in Chance

Chance: Smile, focus my thoughts knowing how easy I am to read and go in

Baroness Cassandra in Harlows officeDMaster: Cassie gives you a big smile. She is in what you see her in all the time. A nice blouse, a few buttons open, a nice necklace. Her hair flowing around her face, beaming those beautiful blue eyes. Tight leather pants and some shit kicking boots.
CASS: Good job last night, looks like they were all caught. All reports say eight, and we have eight in custody.
HAR: Yeah, and you got two, good job.
Says with a bigger smile and a sip of whatever is in her mug.

Chance: Chan: sorry Captain, I didn’t mean to interrupt or anything, was just looking for Valentine to get my assignment

DMaster: She takes a long look at you.
HAR: You might not want to talk with her anytime soon. I am not sure what you did but she was none too pleased.

Chance: Grit my teeth, look down. Fidget, try not to giggle. I don’t shield that from Cassie, let her read what I did.

DMaster: Harlow glances over to Cassie who is in the process of trying to read you.
HAR: Chance? Want to tell us why she is mad? Did it happen out in the field, or back here or..
Then suddenly Cassie lets out a quick laugh, cupping her mouth.

Chance: Chan: Well, I didn’t know where to put my disguise, so I…
Distort my mouth, look to the side, and not at Cassie…
Chan: Left it in Valentines office.

DMaster: With a quick glance back over to Cassie who is a little red faced with the giggles, then back to Chance she shrugs her shoulders.
HAR: Umm, I guess I am at a loss here. Why is this funny or awkward?

Chance: Look right at the Captain.
Chan: The disguise was… well, authentic.

DMaster: Cassie smiles wide and shakes her head just staring at you.
HAR: Authentic, wait, what.. oh… OH. Chance!
She says, and even she is giving you a half playful, half stern look. She is at a loss for words.

Chance: Slowly nodding my head, looking slowly around the room.
Chan: I honestly did not know where to put it, so that much I can’t be blamed for.

DMaster: Harlow sighs, looks down at her mug.
HAR: Not her office Chance, not her office.
After a minute of getting themselves back in order, a few glances, a few quiet giggles.
HAR: I got your orders right here.
She slides the paper to you, then gives you another look, eyebrow raised.
HAR: What did you want to talk to me about? A department meeting, that important?
Harlow motions you to close the door

Harlow a bit more relaxed, though not happy with ChanceChance: I close the door and stand straight
Chan: well Captain, I know me coming back wasn’t going to be easy, I still have to prove I belong here.
Clench my jaw.
Chan: but, someone has made it rather clear she didn’t want me back

DMaster: Cassie smirks a bit,
CASS: Let me guess…
Harlow nods.
HAR: Valentine, yes.

Chance: Chan: I mean, how can I work with someone who is my boss when she doesn’t even want me. I am not one to back down from a challenge, but she is making it rather hard for me to be in her division. I mean I do tend to draw attention and I know that is not how the rogue division is suppose to work, umm…

DMaster: Cassie and Harlow exchange smirks
CASS: Same ol’ Chance. Rambling on and all over the place.
HAR: To start off, you wanted a division meeting about this?
Her eyebrow raised, shaking her head.

Chance: Chan: well until I had a little chat with Novie, I was thinking I was going to give this back. (tap ring) Then just tell you all I was walking away of my own accord.

DMaster: Harlow furries her brow.
HAR: Who is Novie, and what the hell, Chance?
Cassie is giving you an almost angry look, Harlow is now shaking her head.

Chance: Chan: But I realized that is not who I am. I don’t walk away from things when they start getting rough.

DMaster: CASS: Chance, what the fuck. I would of never questioned that thought, until now…
Shakes her head, stops leaning.
CASS: Do you think people wanted me to be Baroness? After my… well, history? Even after being the “hero of the realm” there were many against my advancement. I had to prove them wrong, hell I think I still am proving them wrong.

Chance: Chan: well, I am going to prove that I was meant to be here, I am not giving up on this.

DMaster: HAR: I hope not, the Champion of Finster, Champion of the Court… runs and hides because someone doesn’t like him.
She chuckles
HAR: Sometimes I look for that kind of friction, it brings the best out of people, or the worst.
CASS: I got to be honest, I am floored to hear you say anything like this.

Chance: Chan: Well, I think it was more of a “talk things out” situation. Like you said Cassie, people doubt you, question you… and to say you never had a little urge to say fuck it. I just needed the pick me up.

DMaster: HAR: Pick me up…
She looks to Cassie.

Chance: Chan: Plus, I wasn’t sure I could work for a woman who had an office that smelled that bad…
Plug my nose, look down, shake my head. Then giving them a small smirk looking up to them.

Cassie surprised and entertained by the ChampionDMaster: Cassie burst out laughing and Harlow chuckles, shaking her head.
CASS: Chance, you do you.

Chance: Nod my head, give her a look and a smile.

DMaster: Harlow stands and gets a serious look.
HAR: I have already heard about the choking incident on the poor girl you had pinned, you also dug into her throat?

Chance: Chan: well, I won’t apologize for that Captain. it ended up in a two on one in the alleyway, and I wasn’t letting them get away. I used one, to make the other submit.

DMaster: HAR: Well, no one knew they were 13-15 year olds running around.
Cassie smirks a bit
CASS: Yeah Chance, Choked a 13 year old girl
You can tell she is being playful, puts two thumbs up.

Chance: Give her a playful scolding look.
Chan: I didn’t know, hoods up and all. Plus you made it clear this was important, no way I was messing this up.

DMaster: She nods
HAR: So your orders
Pushes a paper to you again.
HAR: You are to take the prisoners to a central location. Should be two to a guard house, we split them up just in case. Be about four trips.

Chance: Reading the paper as she is saying this
Chan: I will see that it is done, Captain

DMaster: HAR: Gear up. After you are done, head home. Be back tomorrow at noon.

Chance: Chan: as you say.

DMaster: Cassie walks to you, puts her hand on your arm.
CASS: The King will want to speak with you Saturday about the Dig in Magus Orion and good ol’ Azatina. So I am not sure how Harlow wants to handle that.
Glancing over to the Captain.
HAR: Yeah, if I am not here tomorrow just report to me Saturday AM. Or valentine, if you can handle talking to her. Please make sure you take a bath before hand.
She gives you a raised eyebrow, teasing look.

Chance: Flush a bit, smile.
Chan: I will suck it up and deal with it.

DMaster: HAR: Tomorrow, I want the report OK? Gear up, get going

Chance: Nod my head
Chan: as you say Captain
I will make my way to the door and open it
Chan: and thank you for that little pep talk Cassie

DMaster: She smiles and nods her head, giving you a small wave. You gear up and head to the main guard house in the center of the city.

Chance: Head to the guard house and make my way inside. Making sure to have the orders in hand and ready to flash the ring when I get there.

Kind of what the guard house looks likeDMaster: You get inside, a guard walks up. Sees your outfit, glances your ring.
GUA: Yes What can we do for the Black Ward?
Just then a large burly man walks up dressed like he is ready to go into a huge battle. Half plate, swords, daggers, and boots that look to kick the crap out of an ogre.
MAN: Yes, right on time, good, I got this.
Excusing the guard who welcomed you.

Chance: Nod my head at him

DMaster: DM: Condensing a bit. The man looks familiar and you think he was at your wedding. It dawns on Chance that this is Sisse’s husband, the new Captain of the Guard. Chance tells him he is here to help facilitate the transfer of the prisoners. Remi then reveals they are not the prisoners, but decoys. Mumbles something about possible break out attempts and such. “Apparently the guards can’t handle eight snot nosed little kids,” Remi says to Chance a bit perturbed. After a few exchanged glances.
REM: Pardon, I know you from somewhere, do I not?

Chance: Chan: you should, your wife is my governess and you were at my wedding.
look over and smirk
Chan: for my children

DMaster: His eyes bulge a bit, remembering you.
REM: Ahhh the wedding, wow that was a nice wedding, good food.
He smiles

Chance: Nod my head and smile
Chan: well I better see this done so I can fill out paperwork. I am glad you enjoyed the wedding

DMaster: Pats you on the back, then you head out and there is two 4 star guards waiting for you outside.

Chance: Nod to the guards

DMaster: They double take seeing how young you are but nod back after they glance at each other. They lead on through the city. They seem to be almost making a spectacle of the walk. You are walking quietly behind them, hood drawn, and they are marching like it is Camerondale Day.

Chance: Think to myself, what the hell? walking with guards I make sure my hood is all drawn over. Keep walking to the location

DMaster: Many people get out of the way, point and whisper
(Todd rolls like the 4th “1” for the day. Uncanny how many times he rolls it – it is a plot changer)
You arrive at the first guard house, you can hear yelling and scuffling and the like.

Chase Written Out

Entrance to the Guard HouseChance starts to pick up the pace a bit, glancing at the guards, “come on, we better see what’s going on.”

Getting about 40-50 feet from the front doors of the guard house, two shorter figures emerge quickly and start off down the northern road at a pretty quick clip. The Champion recognizes both of them, the ones he grabbed the night before.

“Guards, go make sure the guard house is secured, I will go after these two,” the big man says, his voice slowly turning to a growl.

Both guards pause momentarily, a bit confused but just nod their head and make haste to the front doors of the guard house.

By now Chance is in full blown Champion mode, and the surrounding roadway has been yelling scared and pointing; between the two young people running and now a glowing Black Ward figure giving pursuit.

He has them in his eyesight when they clasp hands for a second and “zoinks” they go different directions. One heads west the other heads east.

Making a quick decision, Chance heads for the girl again hoping she will be easier to capture. He is running full speed and most everyone is now out of the way.

The girl from the break, ducks down an alley roughly 3-400 feet from the guard house. Chance hot on her trail.

Chance floored to see the alleyway emptySkittering to a halt and starting down the alleyway Chance stops suddenly and is taken back, it is empty except for two barrel by a secured door. “great, did she go in a door, in a window… hell down a grate?” he is mumbling to himself now.

Slowly walking, hand now grasping a dagger, the Champion is looking along the bricked pathway for footsteps but realizes he sees roughly 10-15 sets going all different directions. He grunts loudly realizing he won’t be able to track her this way. Then he hears just the slightest sound and gets a feeling to turn around. He does and there is the escapee on a window ledge about 20 feet up the wall. It looks like she is going to try and jump for the roof ledge. She is in what appears to be standard criminal clothing; a simple shirt and pant combo, and some plain shoes.

Chance watches as a set of guards sprint past the alleyway, and the roadway seems to now be on alert from the jailbreak.

“Hallie, or whatever your name is, you do not want to go through this cat and mouse again do you?” he yells at the girl who is focusing on the rooftop, “come down now, girl.”

The quarter elf tries to scale the wall, a foot on a sill, then sliding almost instantly back down; he curses under his breath knowing this is going to be impossible to climb the wall in the alleyway.

“You again, dammit you freak,” she says looking over to the rooftop again, it is a bit of a jump, “go stalk someone else.”

Hallie leaps for it, and with one hand she grabs on the roof’s edge. She slams into the wall and it makes her gasp and yell a little. She is hanging there, swaying, as she mumbles “shit, shit…”

“Enough already, you know I am not going to stop chasing you,” Chance says getting underneath her, now about 15 feet from the main road he came from. Yelling and people running can be heard even more now. “Damn it girl, let go, I will catch you.”

She finally gets both hands on the roof’s edge, “Uh, how about… nope,” Hallie says right before she pushes her feet off the wall and she does almost a 180 flip, and from what you can see a perfect landing.

“Dammit!” Chance says slapping the wall, he heads out to the main road that is mostly clear now with guards going in and out of alleyways, and others patrolling. His eyes along the roof and he spots the top of her head running along the buildings. But that didn’t stop a small merchant man, looking to the roof like Chance, not paying attention and the huge glowing man levels the merchant.

The man slams to the ground, his head cracking on the road, “oww!” he yells. Chance barely flinching, “sorry, get out of the way next time,” he barks still focused.

As the Champion is following her, and the guards take notice and look up too. She is running pretty good and then leaps across another alleyway, making it with ease. But about 50 feet into her sprint on the next rooftop, she turns and she disappears.

Chance points at the two guards and then points at the adjacent alleyways, in a motion telling them to go down them. They do not question and they split and each one goes down one of them.

“Here goes nothing,” Chance says as he races for the Brownstones that she was running on the roofs of, and after a few tries he finally makes his way to the roof.

Luckily he can see her squatting by a chimney at the opposite end of the building next to him. She looks to be scouting the area out.

Chance touches his necklace and mutters “nividen” and he turns all but invisible. He jumps across the alleyway gap with ease, quickly and quietly walks up to the unsuspecting girl.

The large man then grabs the girl, in a bear hug and then bringing his knees down on her legs so she can’t move. She yells in pain, “what the hell!” she yells looking around seeing nothing grabbing her, “…a ghost?!”

Chance begins to laugh a bit, seeing her reaction. “I told you… I’d never stop chasing you, and I would get you,” he responds, still a bit of laughter in his voice.

The Black Ward member, practically crushing the girl now, grabs his “cuffs” and slips them on and tightens them up. All the while she is grunting, groaning and even what you can tell; crying.

Chance steps back, out of the sight of the guards and eventually becomes visible by then he is all but holding her up by the cuffs. She is in obvious pain, tears streaming down her face.

The guards on the bottom looking up, completely and utterly confused as to what was happening. They were yelling “where did she go? Where did the Black Ward guy go?”

Walking back to the edge now visible, “got her, where do I get down from here?”

One of the guards yells, “there should be a roof hatch, we will alert the occupants and you can walk through…”

She is now frantically squirming but he has her tight. “Quit squirming, you are only making it harder on yourself.”

“Fuck off you goddamn freak,” she yells, in between grunts of pain.

Chance chuckles, “now now, language, do you kiss your mother with that mouth…”

“I don’t have a mom you asshole,” she manages to eek out as she is getting dragged to the hatch.

Back To Turn Based

DMaster: You find the hatch that leads into someone’s home. It is a nice home too. Appears to be a servant with broom in hand, wide eyes watching you walk by. You go down a flight of stairs, walk out, turn the corner, walk 100 feet and in the guard house she goes.

Chance: Making sure she is secure back in the guard house before getting back with the guards that were with me.

DMaster: They are no where to be found. Then Remi shows up.
REM: What the hell happened?
He is looking at you, and the girl in cuffs now behind the main area heading for a cell.

Chance: Chan: showed up and there was a ruckus going on
I explain everything up till the point of me going invisible.

DMaster: He nods his head, in deep thought. For some reason he does not seem to be too angry about it. You can hear some yelling, like someone getting reamed out. But it seems odd, almost rehearsed if that is possible.

Chance: I also explain to Remi that one did get away
Chan: I had to make a quick choice it was either let one or both get away and I wasn’t taking that chance

DMaster: He curses
REM: This is going to go over like jizz in a cake warehouse.

Chance: Give him an odd look. wait, what?

DMaster: He nods his head.
REM: Head back to the Compound, tell Harlow whats going on. One captured, another got away.

Chance: Nod my head and make my way to the compound.

DMaster: You get there, Harlow is at the top steps talking with a guard, looking around then she sees you
HAR: Chance! What the hell happened?

Chance: I look at her and explain what happened, leaving out certain details

DMaster: She shakes her head.
HAR: What the hell is going on?
A few guards are returning, telling her the other guard houses are secure.

Chance: Chan: sorry, the other one got away on me.

DMaster: She glances at you with an odd look of pride and disappointment.
HAR: You did get one, can’t be in two places at once now…
She stops a moment, thinks, then looks back to you.
HAR: You can’t be in two places at once, can you?

Chance: Chuckle and shake my head.
Chan: No. I put the girl back in the same guard house where she was

DMaster: Nods her head, smiles a bit.
HAR: Stay here we are going to do a major search. A few Ivies will be out to help.
(Ivies are the nickname to the men and woman who do the hardcore investigating for the Black Ward)
A few of them come out, a 5 star shows up and you help sweep the north east section of the City.

Chance: Keep an eye out for movement or anything.

DMaster: Oddly enough, it seemed like a half assed sweep and search operation but you are getting tired and you are losing interest. The 5 star excuses everyone to head back to their perspective berth, and get further orders.

Chance: Head back to the Compound. Grumbling a bit as I head back, over the one little shite that got away.

DMaster: You head inside, but Cybil cuts you off
CYB: Cap wants you in her office

Chance: Chan: thank you Cybil
Smile and make my way to the Captain’s office

DMaster: Captain is in there with Killian. The huge man is in his usual dark outfit, but no weapons you can see of.

Chance: knock on the door regardless
Chan: you wanted to see me Captain?

DMaster: HAR: Yeah, come in real quick, close the door.
KIL: Hey kid, good job corralling the little girl
He smirks, shaking his head. Giving off a weird vibe.

Chance: Shaking head and smirk as well. Walk in and close the door.

DMaster: She shakes her head, chuckling under her breath.
HAR: Good job today. Actually, too good of a job.
Killian snickers a bit and gives you an odd look. Then she gets a bit quieter, looks up to you, wider eyes fake smile.
HAR: We wanted them to escape…
Killian gives the cap an odd look, then back to you.
KILL: Guess we are talking to him about it then huh?

Chance: Giving both of them an odd look.

DMaster: HAR: It is a calculated risk we are taking, it was approved by Remi and even the Baroness. Tracking them to where ever they are, or were they were hiding out.
Killian nods, walks to a wall, leans against it, crosses his arms.
KILL: Bastian, that scoundrel, has a tracking device of sorts sewed into their clothing.
He rifles through his pocket and pulls out this weird block, with what appears to be a broken crystal inside.
KILL: This will start to glow when we are near. About 3 to 400 feet.

Chance: Nod head, impressed.

DMaster: HAR: We know where the other one is, but we are certain it is not the “hideout,” so we are hoping for him to move out. We have guard patrols now keeping an eye on it.
She then looks down and sighs.
HAR: Chance… why did you tell the guards to go secure a… guard house?

Chance: Surprised by the question.
Chan: Well, there was a ruckus and it needed to be secured, right?

DMaster: Killian chuckles a bit.
KILL: Kid, two fugitives fled the scene, there is one of you. You had to know you were only going to get one… plus, why would you send guards to a guard house filled with… I don’t know…
HAR: Guards!
She flashes you a look.

Chance: Chan: oh, didn’t think of that.
Look down and sigh.

DMaster: HAR: Two criminals, you and two guards. The decision is, you pick one to pursue, tell your guards to pursue the other, ok? I made sure the report did not reflect that little snafu, Valentine would have a field day with it after your little stunt.
Killian looks over curious. Harlow answers the look, shaking her head.
HAR: He put the smelly disguise in her office, open with a note claiming he didn’t know where to put it and signed it…

Chance: Chan: …Champion of the Court of Camerondale.
Look down, suppress any giggle.

DMaster: A loud hearty laugh erupts from Killian.
KILL: Is that why she was in a foul mood yesterday, awww Kid, I am so glad you are back.
HAR: Killian, lets not encourage this.
He finishes laughing and nods his head.
HAR: Report to us 8AM Saturday, write your report, then I am sure the King will want to see you straight away.

Chance: Chan: yes Captain, I will make sure all the I’s and T’s are dotted on the report

DMaster: She nods.
KIL: Enjoy your day off, part timer
He smirks giving you a wink

Chance: Smirk and give him a pat on the shoulder
Chan: See you Saturlay then.
Goto my office, ungear and then work on the report.

DMaster: Before you know it, it is done. It’s about 8:00PM

Chance: look it over to see that it looks good and put it in the Captain’s box. I make my way out of the compound, get Toby and head for home.

DMaster: You get home, put Toby in the pen, head inside. It’s quiet, Cullun sipping on some tea on the couch reading a large book. Novalee doing the same on the other side of the couch
NOV: Oh, there’s some stew left on the stove for you, you can probably heat it up

Chance: Chan: thank you Novie, is Khamyra asleep?

DMaster: She shrugs her shoulders
NOV: I think she went out back, not sure she came back in, she was in a mood today with the heat

Chance: nod my head and make my way out back
Chan: not surprised.

DMaster: Khamyra is by the shed, talking with someone

Chance: Make my way closer to see who she is talking to

DMaster: You see Velencia look over, raise an eyebrow. Khamyra turns around, smiles, she walks over to you and gives you a big hug

Chance: Give her a big hug and a smile

DMaster: KHA: All done for the day?

Chance: Chan: Yeah rather eventful, you could say
making sure I nod my head in Velencia’s direction

High Priestess of Finster talking with the WarlockDMaster: She nods and walks over.
VEL: Chump, if you have free time tomorrow, I have a tattoo for you. Hamza has done a few tats in his time, he can put it on you

Chance: Chan: I am off tomorrow, so you tell me when to be there Priestess and I will be there. Care to come with me love?
Looking at Khamyra.

DMaster: She shakes her head
KHA: I have to meet the new dean and assistant dean. They finally decided on one. Should take all morning… so you two, Behave yourselves ok?
Giving both of you worried looks.

Chance: Chan: of course
smiling as I look at Khamyra

DMaster: Velencia smirks a bit, gives you a look, like yeah we know, and then pats the Warlock on her shoulders.
VEL: I will leave you two be, see you tomorrow, Chump
she meanders off

Chance: Chan: well, let’s spend a little time together before you have to go to sleep. Since you have a busy day ahead of you tomorrow

DMaster: You two head up to the loft, quietly undress and fuck each other like wild animals.
