The First Five Written Out
Khamyra frowns a bit, but has an underlying smirk, knowing this is so, Velencia.
“Vel, hun, we just got back. We want to spend time with the kiddo’s and relax a little,” the Onyx Elf says, almost pleadingly.
The Priestess dressed in some modest clothes, a simple dark green shirt, some tight leather pants and boots that went up to her knee. Her head down practically drooling over the scroll, glances over, “We don’t have to do this yesterday brown eyes, we can do it in a week or so when we know we will all be bored out of our skull,” she retorts.
Chance stands up, dressed to the nines really with his new ideals of wanting to look like he is meant to be there. He leans over and looks at the content of the scroll. He can’t help but be intrigued by this weapon. He has “silent fate,” and adding in a magical powerful dagger for his duel attacks would be great.
“Plus,” the dark Priestess continues, “I have to run about getting some things for some very exotic, very expensive potions that Cullun sold last week, we are a bit behind on that, with our long trip and all.”
“So who would wield this weapon?” the Champion says sitting back down, “just curious if we are going to go after it, who will be the owner?”
Khamyra, who is wearing a laced up light leather shirt that comes off the shoulders, with a pair of well crafted burlap type pants and boots to match. She nods her head, now more curious.
“I would not be without my dual kukri’s, they were designed for me and they work so well,” the Priestess starts, “I was thinking Khamyra, since all she has is that Assassin’s blade.”
The Onyx Elf’s eyes bulge a little, “uhh, me? I am pretty happy with my blade now, I also need one hand free for spells, so what about Rawek?”
The birdman, who is in a raggedy old cloaked outfit, has multiple crudely made necklaces around his neck and symbols drawn on his beak and face. He smirks as much as a bird can, shakes his head, “I have my staff, *squawk* and that is all I need. I am not the most fluid in battle and I fear trying to grab other things, *chirp* would only hinder me.”
The Priestess sits down heavily and looks at the two sitting there, “I guess then you Chump, you can use it in your dual wield. But it is called the moon dagger for a reason. Legend has it that it doubles its power at sunken-sun.”
He nods his head thinking of the few times he fought after sunken-sun, the Odius in the Princess’s room, the Owl Bears in Teeter… the Orcs and ogres a few times at the Farm House.
The Priestess then grabs a parchment in the scroll, looks at it. “That’s not all, there are about 15 or more artifacts listed, that I have some sort of information about. Some that are in the farthest reaches of the white lands to Thundrad Mountains and some deep in Straka forest.”
”Hard pass on the Straka Forest,” Khamyra says, shaking her head knowing damn well she would never venture there, “and I am in no hurry to get back to those Mountains either.”
The night goes by with unusually pleasant conversation and a few laughs.
Walking up to the table, the woman known as Rayven dressed in a dark flowing dress, laced to the top, her smaller breasts getting pushed up, stands there, “we are ready to escort you home,” she says, glancing back over with a small sneer to the woman they call River.
The Velencia wanna-bee, turns and walks away grabbing the arm of River, and they tussle a bit as they head for the exit of this lovely little open air room.
Khamyra has that look in her eye and Velencia sees it, “I know Warlock, give me a break, one day I woke up and there she was, all… looking like me. Isn’t that like the highest form of flattery or something?”
“Or mental illness,” Chance snaps back, then covers his mouth, trying not to laugh.
The Priestess standing, hand on hip, tilts her head giving you the resting bitch face, shaking her head. Khamyra does not laugh, though she wanted to.
The couple leaves and gets home after a nice late evening ride.
Chance and Khamyra chat with Griffin and Renata for a short bit and head up to bed. They look over their 2 sleeping beauties and then fall asleep shortly after.
Mondalay (Monday) 7:00 AM
“They say money talks! Mine says goodbye with my wife shopping all the damn time, get up slugs!” the town crier says, much to the groan of everyone.
It was a morning, much like all the others. Starts out with a few people, Griffin, Novalee, then the order starts to pile in as they wake up.
Sisse and Khamyra are playing with the happily fed kids who are yapping and giggling away much to the delight of everyone in the room.
“M’Lord, you have guests, Baroness Cassandra and some guy named Truett,” the underling says, the door half open.
The Champion sighs, looks at him and nods his head.
Cassie comes strolling in, tight beige, thin leather top, showing a tad of cleavage, falling off the shoulders, laced at the top, with matching leather pants, simple traveling boots and perfect jewelry accessories. With a big smile she walks over to Chance and gives him a hug. Chance wraps his big arms around her and returns the hug.
Khamyra and Cassie exchange hugs as well, then the Baroness spots the kiddo’s and she melts. She squats down and starts playing with them.
Truett, wearing a darker felt like vest, white shirt and simple pants, wide eyes, just staring at the three of them; hugging and carrying on like friends. “Oh so you know each other then?”
“Yes, Truett,” Chance snarks back, “when I said I consider her one of my best friends, as well as the Baroness, I kind of meant it.”
Sisse and Cassie exchange pleasantries, all while playing with the babies.
The Baroness asked everyone to leave the room for a short time so you can talk. Once everyone evacuated, they all sat down at the table.
“I feel that this little endeavor between us did not start out on the right foot,” Cassie starts to talk and then she smirks, even giggles, “much like the first time we met Chance…”
The Champion’s eyes bulge a little, and he chuckles. His face flushes remembering that crazy ordeal.
“We have decided to allow an exchange of information with you and your order,” the Baroness says, glancing at the two of them, “it is only fair and you are the Champion of the Court.”
Truett, again has wide eyes looking at the Baroness, “we are? Is that a good idea, M’Lady?”
She looks back at the well dressed, uppity man and nods her head, “yes. We trust Chance like he is one of our own, and you will treat him as such.”
Truett nods his head and looks down a little.
“So… any news?” The Baroness muses with a big smirk on her face, “especially you Khamyra, we will depend on you to keep an eye on how Magic is manifesting itself in the world.”
The well dressed man looks confused and a little off put. Cassie notices that.
The Baroness sighs, “Khamyra, want to tell him or maybe show him?” she muses, a bit more wide eyed.
Khamyra smiles, always willing to cast, and keep herself in practice. She grabs some dust on the table, rubs it together, traces a symbol and says “enfuego.”
Light pops out of her hand, as fire slowly erupts from her palm.
Truett’s eyes are popping out of his head as he backs up, standing up looking around amazed at no one else freaking out. “What, what? Is this safe?” he says in a shaky voice.
Khamyra smirks, closes her palm and the fire disappears in a puff of smoke. “I was the only magic user on Legon for sometime,” she says, wanting to brag more, but keeps it under wraps, “once word gets out, there will be many to follow.”
“A sorceress, ok, well, I was not expecting that,” Truett says, sitting back down in his chair.
Khamyra gives him a long look, “Warlock, I am a Warlock,” she says, making sure he knows that.
He gives her an odd look of not understanding what that meant.
“Her abilities come from her Patron, which is Finster. Since he is evil and that was the missing piece in the magic, she was able to safely cast spells,” Cassie says, giving Khamyra a warm smirk afterwards. “That defines her as a Warlock.”
Shell shocked, the uppity man nods his head in understanding.
The Baroness gets a shit eating grin on her face, “now to really blow your mind, Chance, My dear.” She gives the Champion a look that makes him think that she does not like this man very much.
Cassie gets up out of the chair, and steps a bit away making Truett even more nervous.
Chance has been practicing just making certain parts of his body glow or exude power. Truett looks and again jumps back, the chair tipping over seeing just the eyes of this tall quarter elf’s beam with light.
The Champion chuckles, then his entire body changes over, and it’s like a light show in the room. Khamyra being so close, her eyes flicker a bit too. She has a proud smirk on her face.
“Champion… of Finster,” he utters, as Truett then looks at Cassie who is tilting her head, eyes reflecting his power.
She nods, then scoffs a little, “OK, sorry, it is fun to see the powers at work, but we need to get down to business,” Cassie finishes.
The group sits, Truett a bit unnerved. Cassie pulls out a scroll and opens it, smooths it out. “So here are the things happening right now…”
– Towns closest to the Teeter Wind Plains have been getting attacked. The King has decided to beef up security, but he also wants to clear the plains of anything evil, the best they can. This will include a large road from Camerondale to Clovendale that will have guard posts, patrols and even possibly a village town. We plan on teaming up with Magus Orion, Thoraxe and Vermeer since they all share some sort of border with the plains. We might even try and get Clovendale into it.
-The wild elf war is coming to a close. Gual has won and the rest of the resistant forces have, for the most part, laid down their arms. The land is in ruin and still divided. Camerondale wants to send some aid to them in hopes for a diplomatic connection.
– Magic has returned to Legon. Uh duh. We will be relying on some people to keep us up to date with how it is manifesting itself, etc.
– Weston Gate is now under a true Baron’s rule and it is already noticeable. Some towns that were struggling are now getting aid they need. Breakwater Wharf is getting rebuilt and the Capital City of the area, Weston Gate is now protected three fold. We don’t want the place to be run by a ghoul again.
– The Lich has proven difficult to pinpoint. When we think they have found a clue, the trail ends up growing cold. The past month, there have been no reports whatsoever. That worries Cassie and the royal party.
For now that is all that Cassie had. She rolls up the scroll and puts it in her bag. Truett is sitting there quietly, kind of looking down.
“So any word on magic returning? Anything you have noticed?” Cassie says looking back over to Khamyra.
The Onyx Elf shakes her head, “I am not sure what I am looking for, to be honest,” she says with a bit of frustration, “if anything comes up I will contact you immediately about it.”
The Baroness smiles, glances over to the babies on the floor and smiles.
“I can’t wait, it’s still a good 6 months off, but I am counting the days until the prince arrives,” the beautiful blonde woman says.
Chance smiles and nods, “you are going to be a grandma!”
Cassie’s head snaps to the Champion and that makes him jump a bit. “Yeah, I know. If there is one thing I am not looking forward to, it’s being called… grandma,” she finishes with a chuckle.
The four of them exchange pleasantries and the two Camerondale people leave.
“I don’t know what to tell them about magic,” Khamyra says once she closes the door, turning to Chance, “I don’t know what I am looking for, or what to report?”
The Champion shrugs his shoulders, “I understand, I mean if the twins poop doesn’t stink, is that a work of magic?” He says playfully.
Sisse looks up and shakes her head, “no, that would be a miracle.”
The engaged couple both let out a hearty laugh and went about the day’s business.
2 Days, half a night Pass (Tuesday & Wednesday, going into Thursday)
It was a nice stretch of days with the Kids, Khamyra and the Order. The first few days were drizzly and rainy, but it was cozy, sleeping in, snuggling and enjoying the fact, there was nothing to do.
Thuralay 2:00 AM
Chance wakes up, feels a slight breeze through the room. He glances over to see Khamyra is out of bed. It is not unusual with the kids and all, but from what he can tell the babies were still sleeping in their bed.
The Champion slowly gets out of bed, looks around and figures it is about 2:00 am. He walks to the Balcony door that was half open and the source of the breeze.
Peering out he can see Khamyra just sitting in a chair, knees to chest, staring out across the backyard and sparse forest. She doesn’t seem to notice the big man creeping up on her.
The large moon is all but full, one of the smaller moons passing over it, giving it a look like a hole is punched through it. A few clouds that he can see and it is a bit on the cooler side for this time of year, maybe around 60-65 degrees.
Chance thought of giving her a scare, then thought twice, knowing better in the middle of the night.
“Hun,” he says softly, only giving her a little jerk of the head.
She looks over to him and he steps back a bit, her eyes flickering with power.
“Sorry, I couldn’t sleep,” she says, as though she doesn’t even know, “decided to get some fresh air.”
“Uh, babe, your eyes are flickering with power,” the big man says walking up to her, then squatting down to her level.
She gives him a weird look, “they are what?” and by the time she finishes that sentence, she realizes they are.
By now Khamyra has sat up straight in the chair, rubbing her eyes and trying to figure out what the hell is going on.
“I feel a presence, far off, far away. But it has been growing the past few days. It was almost as though someone was talking to me in my sleep. I am not sure what to make of it, even more so now with my eyes getting all funky,” Khamyra finishes, shuddering a little from the wind.
Chance engulfs her in his big arms and she welcomes it. After a moment both of them jump a little hearing a scream. It was pretty far away, and it did not seem like someone in distress.
“What the hell was that?” Chance says, shaking his head looking out over the backyard.
Khamyra sighs, shakes her head, “I am not sure, but I don’t think it is anything good.”
The two of them sit there, a bit tense listening. But for the next half hour, they only heard crickets, a bird or two and the occasional cough of one of their underlings.
The morning came too soon, the kids getting cranky and fidgeting. Chance gets up and allows Khamyra to roll around and stretch in bed for a short time. After the usual morning rituals he heads downstairs, a kid in each hand.
By now the order is up and Sisse takes the kids with a smile on her face. She gets them ready for breakfast.
Griffin seems to have taken over breakfast duties, probably to give Novalee a break and he doesn’t seem to mind. The meal is served, it is good and everyone gulps it down with some tea.
Khamyra rolled over and fell back asleep. Once she woke, she headed down the stairs, half smirk on her face seeing everyone all but done with Breakfast. Then the front door opened.
“Rayven and River here to speak with you M’Lord,” the underling says, then getting pushed out of the way.
“By Finsters hammer, Come on now, you know us,” the Velencia wanna bee walks in much to the displeasure of the guard. She is in a dark flowing dress, boobs pushed up looking like Elvira or more to the lore; mimicking the Priestess.
River follows in, skimpy vest, her breasts barely in the clothing, tummy showing with some dark leather pants and boots. It is obvious she is dressing for someone. Then with a furried eyebrow, “Finster didn’t have a hammer you dumb slut, he had a morning star,” the beautiful woman retorts somewhat quietly.
Khamyra, finishing the walk down the stairs says,”he is going to have your asses both in the void if you don’t stop going at each other, take it from us.”
It scares both the girls, they jump. Both of them look like they did not get much sleep.
“Our High Priestess would like to speak with Khamyra, we can take her to the rendezvous spot,” Rayven says, looking behind her and bowing to the Warlock.
“Don’t bow to me girl, the only one you should be addressing that way is our Lord God, Finster,” Khamyra says, giving them a look.
River smirks a bit and nods to the Onyx Elf, “I understand Warlock.”
The dark haired messenger gives the girl a growl and look.
Chance looks to Khamyra and they exchange glances. “Probably about last night,” he says somewhat in a mumble, not really meant to be heard.
Khamyra nods her head, turns heel and heads up the stairs, “I will be down forthwith, I must change real quick,” she says getting to the top of the loft.
Griffin hears that and looks over, “what about last night?” he asks, curious.
Meanwhile Dash, who was in his training gear, plain white shirt, leather straps across him, quiver on his back, brown leather pants, boots and a bow in hand has made his way to the two girls. It seems like River and the quick ranger are having a good conversation.
Luella looks at them with annoyance, while Trinity kicks the invoker under the table lightly. Making the two exchange glances.
“Nothing really,” Chance says replying to Griffin, “we were out on the balcony and we heard a far off scream, like an angry scream…” he says trailing off, walking to the wall where he put Silent Fate this morning.
Khamyra heads back down wearing a deep green top, that goes across and hangs off her shoulders, laced in the middle. Some dark green leather pants with straps and a few pockets. She is fitting her bracers on as she walks. She looks over the group, “I’ll be back shortly, I actually do need to talk with Velencia.”
Chance put on his sword, and is heading for the door to accompany his fiance but gets stopped cold, “no, only Khamyra,” the Rayven woman says, not distracted by Dash.
The Champion’s eyes turn to slits and on cue, they beam with a little bit of light. Both girls notice and back up, wide eyed.
“It’s ok hun, I’ll be back soon, if anyone can handle herself, it’s Velencia, so I will be perfectly safe,” she says walking out the door with the two girls.
Griffin approaches you, raised eyebrow, “a scream? I did not hear this,” he said rubbing his chin.
Chance puts his sword back against the wall, and sits heavily into the chair. “Yes, it was not a scream of pain but… of something else.”
Everyone exchanges glances and shrugs their shoulders.
“Maybe someone was tired of Velencia’s foul mouth,” Dash says.
Everyone lets out a laugh and the day moves on.
Turn Based Starts Here
Chance: while I am waiting for Khamyra to get back from seeing Velencia, I will spend some time with the kiddo’s. Getting down on the floor playing with them, as some of my thoughts go back to seeing them all grown up.
DMaster: After about an hour, door opens. Khamyra comes in.
Chance: Seeing her coming in the door I get up and walk over to her and just wrap my big arms around her in a hug
Chan: So what did Velencia want or have to say?
DMaster: She returns the hug, but not without a little glance.
KHA: A lot. We have to go see Cassie…
She says giving you a frown
Chance: Chan: oh let me guess, it has to do with what we heard last night?
Look down at her seeing the frown on her face.
DMaster: She nods her head.
KHA: Kind of, I’ll let you know along the way
Griffin and Dash are out back, Novalee is putting together teabags, and that is all you know; who is where. Besides Sisse with the babies.
Chance: Chan: let me go get dressed, then we shall be on our way. I am sure I am not going to like what I will hear on the way, am I?
DMaster: She shrugs her shoulders, squats down and is playing with the kids
Chance: I make my way upstairs and change into my better clothes. I grab silent fate when I get back downstairs.
DMaster: She is waiting for you, you both jump on horses and head to Camerondale. It is a heavy overcast day, even hit a patch of drizzle. Very humid and almost 85 degrees. You can tell it annoys Khamyra.
Chance: Chan: you can tell me all that was said, maybe?
giving her a smirk
DMaster: She nods, and as hard as it is to hear, while riding, she says something about Harpies and the like.
Chance: Grabbing hold of her hand.
DMaster: You are reaching for her hand and she gives you a confused, frustrated look. No way you can grab hands while riding horses.
KHA: According to Vel, they were all around the area last night, why I do not know.
You get to the stables, hold hands, which does not spark anymore
Chance: Chan: Hmm, harpies. Interesting.
DMaster: KHA: Yeah, think of Velencia, with wings and clawed feet, best way I can describe them.
She says, not keeping a straight face
Chance: Lean into her. Chuckling a bit.
Chan: I know what they are, Cullun was pretty thorough with teaching me, but… I don’t know…
DMaster: Khamyra nods, she is on a mission to get this done and get back to the kids, interrupting you. You are at the entrance, a guard gets Cassie who comes out to greet you two. She popped out of the throne room, a few parchments in hand. Hair is down, flowing around her head, blue eyes beaming with her wonderful smile. In a lighter white long dress with a light blue vest clasped in the middle with a cute leaf trinket. Look to have shit kickers underneath.
CASS: Miss me already?
A smirk on her face.
Chance: Smile at her.
Chan: I would say yes, but we came to see you for other reasons. You told us to report anything that was magic related.
DMaster: Cassies eyes bulge looking around the room with a few people in it. Khamyra nudges you.
CASS: Chance, might as well climb the castle and yell it across the city…?
Khamyra is shaking her head chuckling, Cassie gives you a warm smile.
CASS: Somethings never change.
Chance: Chan: sorry, sorry, cut me a break would you. Can we go somewhere and Khamyra can tell you
DMaster: She is starting to walk with you, guiding you and then glances back
CASS: No, let’s got to the Kings bathroom and talk there while he drops a deuce
Khamyra is giggling
KHA: You two are like siblings almost.
Chance: Scrunch nose.
Chan: eww of all places I wouldn’t want to be. It’s bad enough when I go to the bathroom myself.
DMaster: they shake their head. She guides you into the kitchen area, then down the hallway where you used to get to your old room
but stops at one of the doors, opens it. Its dark. She curses under her breath, goes and gets a light, lights the lanterns, sits you two down. Its a 15×25 deep room. Big table in the middle, bunch of chairs, a few lanterns and what appears to be maps of the city and realm on either wall.
CASS: Have a seat, I’ll be right back
Chance: Sit.
Chan: sure, okay, we will just be right here waiting
DMaster: Cassie shakes her head, walks out.
KHA: Hun, your not going to be in one of those weird moods again are you? Repeating everything, saying weird things?
Chance: Frown and look down.
Chan: No. When they come back I am letting you do the talking
DMaster: Eventually Cassie walks back in, Ronnald is with her. He is in a very stiff white shirt with a stiff collar, buttoned all the way up. Simple brown leather pants and dark boots. His eyes just beaming those baby blues. You exchange pleasantries. They have scrolls, books and some parchment. Cassie sits, as does Ronald, book open, quill at the ready.
CASS: Ok, I am guessing… magic?
Chance: looking over at Khamyra, just smile and wait for her to begin talking
DMaster: KHA: Well…
She explains what happened with you two on the balcony. Cassie is nodding her head, Ronnald is taking notes down.
KHA: So I went and I, spoke with someone knowledgeable about these things…
The Warlock fidgets in her seat, Cassie looks at her, gives her a “who” type of look.
CASS: Who could you… oh, OH… ok, go on
The Baroness shakes her head a bit, continues to listen.
Chance: I stay quiet as I watch the conversation and just keep listening
DMaster: KHA: To be honest, not a lot has been happening, but I also do not want to overlook something that you might find interesting. So the reason we are here. This um, informant, said there have been harpies about the area, at least around Greyshale and north of the town. For the past few days.
Cassie scrunches her nose.
CASS: Harpies?
Ronnald finishes writing and nods his head.
Chance: trying not to laugh with the image Khamyra put in my head of harpies
DMaster: RON: Half woman, half, I suppose vulture. They run in packs and shun populated areas…
Looks up to Khamyra
RON: Are you sure it was harpies?
Khamyra nods her head,
KHA: Not sure what else it would be. We heard the screams and my informant says they heard and even saw one too
RON: I thought they sung songs or something, not scream
Chance: Chan: That is half true. They can sing and charm any man, and sometimes women too. The song is particular, for an individual per say. If you are not that person all you hear is a scream of sorts.
Looking his way
Chan: They have a pack mentality, tend to shun populated areas and like to live in a hill or mountainous area.
DMaster: The room is looking at you. Smiles on their faces.
Chance: Chan: Hey, I sometimes can be useful.
DMaster: They all giggle and smile. Khamyra has a little proud smirk on her face.
CASS: So screaming aside, why would they be around?
KHA: Good question. When was the last time you saw a harpy? Check that, when was the last time “anyone” saw a harpy?
They look at each other and back to you guys, shaking their head.
Chance: Chan: Never.
Shrugging shoulder.
DMaster: KHA: They are not inherently magic, been around before the ascension. But we found it very odd that they left their habitat, to start hanging around Grayshale.
Everyone nods, Ronnald finishes writing.
KHA: Well, on a more personal level, I am getting weird dreams; like I am talking with someone in my sleep. Could not tell you what is being said, and I am pretty sure it’s a man. Chance said my eyes went all power wonk-a-donk last night
Cassie stops her, smile forming.
CASS: ummm, wonk-a-donk?
RON: Can you spell, wonk-a-, what was that, donk?
Chance: Chan: You know, wonk-a-donk.
Shrug shoulders shake my head, smile then continue.
Chan: yes, it was like when she is close to me in Champion form. Or, she gets a little too riled up.
DMaster: Cassie nods her head understanding it better
CASS: Sure this wasn’t Chance just trying to get in your knickers?
Ronald shakes his head looks down, Cassie shit eating grin on her face and Khamyra a little surprised at the museful question.
KHA: No. (chuckle) I usually get a poke in the back before… well…
She glances at Ronnald who now is blushing a bit, still shaking his head. Cassie giggling. You realize it is really nice to have friends when doing these types of things.
Chance: Blushing a little as Khamyra says that
DMaster: Khamyra opens a pouch and places a crumpled flower on the table. It is somewhat puffy looking, white with a tinge of red.
KHA: According to, well, the person and Cullun, this is a Zigamon Tripetal
Ronnald takes and looks at it, raises an eyebrow.
KHA: One of these have not been seen in forever, thought it was extinct, as far as we knew. Now, there is a patches of it a half hour away. Rumored to have magical properties.
Chance: Chan: well what wasn’t allowed to flourish is now starting to flourish again
looking over towards Ronnald holding the flower
DMaster: RON: Can we keep this?
Khamyra nods
KHA: Of course
Chance: Chan: I am sure this is only the beginning with magic returning. Things that weren’t seen will begin to be seen again, like that flower and harpies what else is to come?
DMaster: Cassie looks at you, a smile on her face.
CASS: Oh Chance, never change ok?
Khamyra leans into you a little, then looks at the two of them.
KHA: That about wraps it up. You have been nothing but forthcoming and trusting with us. I want us to reciprocate this new venture we are starting.
She smiles big, nods reaches over and grabs Khamyra’s hand. They exchange a warm look. Then she looks down and takes a big sigh, Cassie actually looks a little nervous right now.
Chance: Surprised by Cassies look.
DMaster: CASS: So, we have been hard at work since you told us about, you know, doing, you know.
She stands up, starts to pace a little
CASS: For a while now, long before the ascension was a twinkle in anyones eyes, except maybe Finster, we had plans to build a new structure, off the existing castle walls. In fact these plans have been in motion for at least a decade…
Ronnald clears his throat, seeing she is rambling.
Chance: Smirk, thinking, “see it is not only me.”
DMaster: She smirks, chuckles.
CASS: Well… it was going to be a new academy, a university of sorts, to rival that of Clovendale and Iranxacan. It started taking off last year with the influx of capitol, the King wants to put the money back into the Kingdom.
KHA: Very nice, good idea.
Cassie nods
CASS: As the money rolled in and situations presented itself, the original idea of this academy, changed focus.
The Baroness locks eyes with the Warlock.
KHA: Arcane arts?
The Baroness smiles, nods.
CASS: It is going to be part of it. At first a bit smaller, for obvious reasons. But as things become more… magic-e, it will expand.
Ronnald furries his brow.
RON: Magic-e?
KHA: Not a bad idea, but I am confused as to why you would be so hesitant to tell us? Or look nervous for that matter.
Chance: Look over at Cassie trying to read her body language
DMaster: She is fidgety and then you see, like something triggered with her.
CASS: Well, let’s go visit some of the people who will make this happen, shall we?
Chance: Give her a look and raise an eyebrow. Looking over to Khamyra and smile.
DMaster: She looks intrigued. Khamyra nods her head. You all get up and head out, walk the way it was to your room, but you don’t go down the stairs. You head out to the garden / training area. Once you get out, you notice the flowers, bushes and trees making a hell of a comeback, budding and flowering after the drought
Chance: Smile knowing I had a hand in ending the drought and thinking of Finster ascending.
DMaster: You head out, instantly you see Talia and Helkyr standing by one of the training tents, going over some paper. It looks like Talia is drenched in sweat, holding her specialized weapon. That same other guy, training with her before, is looking over their shoulders
Chance: Smile real big, even chuckle. Excuse myself for a moment and head over to them.
DMaster: Cassie glances back and smiles real big, keeps walking with Khamyra. DM: Condensing. Helkyr looks over to you, “Hey no prissy boys back here!” laughing. With Talia instantly knowing who that was, turns and says “where is short tips?” They exchange pleasantries and talk about visiting each other. After a few more hugs and friendly barbs, chance heads towards the pavilion. As you leave;
HEL: Let’s get back to work, you need all the help you can get.
TAL: Excuse me, you rat bearded troll snot!
You hear Helkyrs belly laugh echo through the area and it gives you a huge smile.
Chance: Keep walking, chuckling to myself.
DMaster: You catch up with them, Cassie and Khamyra are talking, looking at flowers. Must of got sidetracked. You briefly hear them talking about how you proposed and the wedding plans. They see you and they continue to the pavilion. It hits you a little. Looking around and the memories flood back in.
Remembering: The training sessions just outside of the gardens with Talia and Helkyr. The pavilion where you were to tell Affinity that it has to end… the embrace you and Cassie had after the death of Rosalinda. It makes you stop, take a deep breath. Cassie stops a moment and glances back to you, a bit of sadness in her eyes, then continues.
Chance: Fighting back some tears as I remember. Catch up and follow them. Shake it off.
DMaster: As you turn to the Pavilion; The first person you see is Bastian, butt on the railing, foot on a table, chewing on a jerky. In his usual drab brown outfit, comfortable boots, hair a bit of a mess. The second, you see Genesis, with books, papers, quill and ink. She is in her “outfit” that is assigned to her, a darker robe, hood down. The third, you see Zolo. The beautiful older woman, with some papers in front of her. She is in this colorful top, laced in front, her breasts a bit too popped out, but she is proud of them; lighter simple dress, some dark red boots along with jewelry. The final person you see is Esmershard. In a robe like out fit, smoking pipe in hand, leaning back in his chair.
Chance: My eyes light up seeing Esmershard and Bastian. A big smile goes to my face
DMaster: The group all stops their discussions and look up to see the three of you.
CASS: Good morning! I think you all know Chance?
She looks over to you
Chance: Smile and wave.
DMaster: CASS: This is Khamyra.
Cassie, turns to her and smiles. Khamyra a bit embarrassed seeing these people, the brains and talent of most of the Realm just looking at her. Zolo gives her a look, then like she recognizes her.
ZOLO: I thought I knew that name… You are Whitlocks old beau.
The Onyx Elf sighs and nods her head.
KHA: Yes, and it’s good to see you again Zolo.
Bastian twitches and gives her a playful nod. Esmershard gets up and introduces himself. They shake hands.
ESM: That is Genesis in the back there
Chuckles and points, and she waves.
ESM: So this is who you want to be the Paragon for this division? I am befuddled.
He says, confused, and it looks like Zolo is also confused.
Chance: grumble a bit hearing Whitlock’s name mentioned but remaining calm
DMaster: Khamyra’s head slowly turns to Cassie, eyes big
KHA: I am sorry, what now?
They all look over. Bastian smiles and nods.
CASS: Yes, and it would of been nice if I actually asked her first!
Esmershard’s eyes bulge a bit, smirks.
ESM: Oops.
Cassie leans over to Khamyra, with everyone, but Bastian looking at her, not exactly impressed.
CASS: Did you just want to tell them, or maybe show them?
Your beautiful fiance sighs. nods
CASS: Ok, this should explain why I chose Khamyra as the Paragon.
Chance: I stand back watching this happening, let Khamyra have her moment
DMaster: She looks over her pouches, grabs what looks to be a small chicken feather. Zolo’s eyes bulge a little stands up, guessing it was a component. She is a bit weirded out
ZOLO: Uh, Cassie, I…
Cassie shakes her head and puts her hand up to tell her to calm down. Esmershard has a huge smile on his face, he also stands up. Bastian just smirks, twitches once and continues to chew. Khamyra closes her eyes, writes a symbol in the air, clenches her fist, and says “Volare.” Then the Warlock brings her arms up from her side, holding them outright. Slowly she starts to float, a foot in height at first, then 3 feet then 5 feet. By then, everyone has wide eyes, Genesis even a bit freaked out too. Khamyra then looks down at the group, her eyes flickering with power. She gracefully brings herself down, lands perfectly. Then puts the feather back in her pocket. Looks at everyone, now she is a little embarrassed, and shrugs her shoulders.
ESM: I’ll be damned, She is Finsters Warlock, isn’t she?
Bastian laughs
BAS: You got it, old man. Knew you would get it.
Zolo’s eyes are huge, looking around
ZOLO: Umm, ok. We want the Warlock of an evil patron to run this division? Really?
Chance: Chuckle a bit as Esmershard says that, then frown at Zolo.
DMaster: Esmershard giggles a little glances at Bastian. The Baroness walks to Khamyra and smiles. Puts her arm around her.
CASS: There is nothing evil about Khamyra, unless you piss her off. But, who better to lead a division about Arcane Arts than the only magic user on Legon right now?
Everyone sits back down, Zolo, less than convinced.
ZOLO: Well. This may change things…
Put her head down in deep thought.
KHA: Zolo, I thought you were in Clovendale anyways?
Looks up to Khamyra.
ZOLO: I was, but Camerondale is allowing me to build this from the ground up, my way…
Chance: Frown at Zolo again. Head over to Bastian.
DMaster: CASS: We don’t even have the classes set yet. We have kicked around Magic Use, I think you could be the one for that. For potion making, Zolo is practically over qualified. Bastian thinks a class about witchcraft would work, since not everyone will want to be a full on magic user. Our dear Esmershard can be the history of all things related to the arcane arts.
Chance: Stand by Bastian, give him a hand shake.
DMaster: He smiles big, shakes your hand, twitchs.
CASS: OK. Officially, I am asking you, would you be the Paragon for this division Khamyra? We would like to get this going as soon as possible, even start before the construction is done. But Winter in Camerondale is never friendly. So we were thinking Spring of next year as the start, very small classes and the like. By then the word will be out and the interest peaked.
The Onyx Elf is completely floored, wide eyes. She turns away a moment, head down, rubbing her chin.
CASS: Oh, you do not have to answer now, in fact, don’t. Go home, talk it over with your fiance and order.
ESM: Oh, a fiance?! Who is the lucky man?
The old man says, keeping the Onyx Elf engaged.
She giggles a little, turns and points to you.
KHA: This sad sack.
Cassie lets out a laugh.
Chance: Looks around sheepishly, wave again.
Chan: Hi, everyone, Sad sack here.
Walk over to her, wrap my arm around her waist and lean into her
DMaster: She briefly smiles, then makes a movement telling you, “not now.”
Chance: I will let go, back up a bit. Regain composure.
DMaster: Khamyra is in a state of shock with this information. It is hard to get any idea what she is thinking about. DM: Condensing. The conversation goes on for a good 30 minutes. Some plans of the new structure is rolled out and looked at. Cassie points out a smaller room that could be a nursery, nudging Khamyra who rolls her eyes. It is a huge compound, 20 or so classrooms of sorts, 4 larger rooms for lectures, experiments, and one giant one for announcements, plays, arts, etc. (Looks to be 20-25,000 square feet, three floors with a large professors tower, leading to the walled area of Camerondale). Eventually they even bring out some food, and drink. Zolo excuses herself. They group talks quickly and briefly about her, thinking she might back out. She does not understand who Khamyra is and what she stands for. Culluns name gets tossed into the mix by Khamyra and Chance for a possibility. Chance and Bastian talk and he explains to you that he is going inbetween for now, then when it is situated he has to make a decision to stay and teach or head back to the Ward.
Chance: Continuing talking with Bastian.
Chan: unless you fall asleep and talk about weird things
Giving him my usual smirk
DMaster: He laughs out loud and everyone looks over
BAS:oops
He is red faced giving you a playful shove. Zolo returned and after about another half hour, the meeting winds down.
Chance: look over at Khamyra, as we are leaving. Sure she has a lot going on in her head
Chan: hun. I know its a lot to take in, but if you ask me they couldn’t have asked for anyone better.
DMaster: She nods her head and smiles at you, then you two head back. Get on the horses and ride back. Its early afternoon now, still a bit dark with heavy clouds, humid as ever. You know that is contributing to her quietness. You get home, put the horses to the pen head inside.
Chance: I am sure Khamyra still is in deep thought, so I will give her some space.
DMaster: Walking into the house, Rayven is there, you can see River farther in the room. Talking with Dash. Khamyra visibly annoyed, slumps her shoulders.
KHA: You guys again? Are you moving in with us or something?
Chance: Eyes bulge a little shake my head. Looking to Dash who probably would love that.
DMaster: RAY: Oh… you have been…
The Warlock with a death stare, interrupts her.
KHA: Asked to see that damn needy bitch again, I got it. It’s friggen Velencia, quit making it so formal, me and Velencia have been causing shit for over a decade.
she says with a playful, but annoyed tone. The girl’s eyes bulge a little, nodding her head.
Chance: Chan: Is it another secret encounter with Priestess and Warlock or can other “little” people go?
DMaster: Rayven looked confused at that, goes to say something, but Khamyra stopped her.
KHA: Come on hun, lets go. Get it over with and maybe, just maybe we can find a few minutes to spend with our children.
Rayven is all flustered now, watching you two walk out the door.
RAY: River, get over here… we have to… wait, oh hell, River!
Chance: sigh and look over to where River and Dash are.
DMaster: River glances over and smirks. She has a pretty tight dress on, large belt, plunging neckline that Dash was drooling over and some dangling jewelry. She touches Dashes chest, gives him a look and heads for the door. Khamyra is already back in the pen, on her horse
Chance: shake my head, make my way to the pen and lead Toby out
DMaster: You guys ride, the two girls eventually catch up. You slow down seeing a servent with a large baasket cross the path. Both of you look out to the fields, and you see Velencia a good 100 feet from the area, squatting down looking over a few things.
Chance: Thinking to myself it went from a good day to a shitty day having to see Velencia
DMaster: Khamyra jumps off her horse. Throws you the reigns.
KHA: What now you needy bitch!
She says tongue in cheek, walking with purpose. Velencia is shaking her head and you see her chuckle after hearing that.
Chance: dismount from Toby and find a place to tie him and Khamyra’s horse up. Then walk to where they are.
DMaster: If it wasnt for the heavy overcast, this would be a picture perfect place. High grass with flowers all about. The same one that Khamyra gave velencia. It makes it looks stunning as you look across the horizon. The Priestess is looking at one of the flowers.
VEL: Beautiful. Useful to boot.
Khamyra slows down and smiles
KHA: Yeah sure, real pretty, despite it being humid as fuck
Then like it hits Velencia, she glances over to the Onyx Elf.
VEL: That’s why you are cranky, humidity… now it makes sense
She stands to look at the both of you
Chance: Look around, then back at her.
Chan: If you brought us here to smell a flower, I am going to shove a flower so far up your ass, it will sprout next spring.
DMaster: Both Velencia and Khamyra turn, both with a smirk and a surprised look on their face. The Priestess shakes it off.
VEL: Ok chump. Watch closely, it is something I have wanted to do for over a decade now…
Khamyra looks over to you and back to her.
Chance: crossing arms just standing there watching
DMaster: She walks up to Khamyra, takes her cheeks and leans and gives her one hell of a kiss. It lasts for at least 30 seconds, tongue and all
Chance: My arms fall to my side as a look of shock watching this happen
DMaster: Velencia backs up looks over to you, smirking.
VEL: Damn Chump, now I know why you asked her to marry you.
Chance: Get my flopper under control.
DMaster: Khamyra backs up, her body starts to glow a bit, she lets out a groan, her eyes just burst with light
VEL: No worries brown eyes, it will be over soon
The Onyx elf has her hands outstretched, you see symbols and light just floating around
KHA: I am… numb, I feel I don’t know, stronger
then Khamyra snaps her head to you and smirks.
Chance: Chan: Oh, a Finster’s special. Why the hell did you wait for it now? You couldn’t do it this morning?
Raising an eyebrow, then crossing my arms again.
DMaster: Velencia scoffs, gives you a disgusted look.
VEL: If you must know, I had to make the decision on what weapon she could have. Knowing that, I lifted her Assassins blade, and stylized from that.
She smirks, looking at Khamyra now.
VEL: Your sword is in the stronghold, babe.
Khamyra shakes her head, thinking… “why did I not know this? Why was I without my weapon?”
Then the Onyx Elf gags a bit, puts her hand in her mouth and pulls out something. She holds it in two fingers and squints. It looks to be a ball bearing, a fairly large one.
KHA: WTF?
Velencia giggles,
VEL: I am glad you didn’t swallow it, not sure where it would manifest.
KHA: Vel, hun, what the hell is going on? Why am I pulling out ball bearings from my mouth?
The tall woman, dressed in a surprising blue outfit with some gold trim, boobs popping out of course, some jewelry. Walks to the Warlock, takes the ball bearing out and puts it in her right hand, closes it
she leans in and whispers something. Khamyra furries her brow and looks back to the Priestess. Velencia nods and smiles. Then Khamyra Traces a symbol, says “espada.” Her hand instantly starts to create this mist, sparks and a medium sized sword erupts from her hand, Took maybe a second. She is now wide-eyed, with this mystic sword in her hand.
VEL: Magic is full throttle love, only took a week or so, but it’s here. No more restrictions.
Chance: Eyes get big seeing the sword in her hand not quite know what to say
Chan: Fully manifested?
DMaster: Velencia looks over
VEL: That is what I said, shit in your ears?
Your fiance is slashing it around big smile
KHA: Oh it feels amazing! Chance come here, let me try this out!
Chance: Grumble at Velencia, not in the mood.
Chan: oh sure why not? I mean what could possibly happen? Why not give me a kick to the jigglers and call it a day
DMaster: Velencia’s eyes perk up and nods
VEL: I’m game, I got my shit kickers on too.
Khamyra shakes her head, walking towards you.
KHA: Draw your sword you lunatic
Just then the Priestess grabs Khamyra by the arm.
VEL: Hold up, hold up. Hear that?
DMaster: It is ever so faint, but you can hear those screams again. After a minute or two, they get louder and you can see a band of “things” a good distance off. It seems like they know you are there, heading in your direction.
Chance: Chan: oh just grand, they know we are here.
shaking my head
DMaster: VEL: Harpies… it has to be, what else can scream and fly? Why I do not know. Glad I grabbed my Kuk’s. Lets go get them.
fire starting in her eyes, drooling almost.
Chance: Shake head.
Chan: So we are now actively seeking out things to kill? Really?
DMaster: Velencia looks at you.
VEL: Yeah? Don’t like it, make yourself useful and go, I don’t know, wash some clothes.
Chance: Chan: You go wash some…
DMaster: VEL: You said something?
Chance: Grumble.
Chan: This is not the way I wanted to spend the day. Khamyra, you can use that sword on them, instead of me.
DMaster: The Warlock getting ever annoyed with your bickering, just starts to storm off to the flock of harpies.
Chance: looking at Khamyra, then follow.
DMaster: You three approach, but they seem to back off a bit, keeping distance.
Chance: as we are approaching I have pulled silent fate and changed over to my champion form
DMaster: Velencia puts her hand up.
VEL: Hold up, feel like they are trying to draw us closer… let’s stand pat.
Chance: Nod my head, grip silent fate tighter, and stay put
Battle Written Out
The Champion starts to hear a song, it is beautiful, hypnotic almost.
Velencia wheels around, hand on necklace and says something. She tugs her ear and suddenly Chance stumbles back a bit. The world is now in a void of sorts, at least when it came to sound. It is like he stepped into a vacuum. He regains his composure and looks out.
A humanoid creature is slowly emerging from the tall grass and flowers, hands outright, mouth open. The women wince a bit hearing the screeching. The Champion is just glancing at her with his eyebrow raised not hearing a sound. This woman has green hair, fair skin, is in coordinating rags of clothing. Once she is upright she looks, probably expecting to see someone charmed, only to find two angry women and a tall confused man.
The Siren stops, looks around and over to the Champion.
“Yeah, I plugged his ears, no charming that guy,” Velencia says thumbing towards the Champion. “What are you doing way out here anyways?”
The green haired woman is looking at the two women, obviously vexed. She takes a deep breath and tries to sing again. This time it sounded really nice to the women. Both of them pass their WIS throws with flying colors. They glance at each other.
Velencia steps up and that distracts the creature from singing and she stops. By now the harpy’s have flown in close, within 60 feet. Their screams and cackles can be heard now too. “Well? What are you doing here loud mouth?” The Priestess barbs to the now fearful creature.
TOP OF ROUND ONE
Watching as the harpy’s start to descend upon them, Velencia makes a decision, “Sorry bitch, no mood for a serenade,” and she grabs the Siren by it’s throat and a flash of light, oddity in vision emanates. The High Priestess has sucked the soul right out of it. It tumbles to the ground lifeless (Velencia now gets +1 to CHR, and 15 extra hit points).
Seeing this, the harpy’s start to frenzy and fly in for the attack.
Khamyra has the component already in her hand. She smiles wide seeing the Harpies coming in. Plus she can try out this new mystic weapon Finster has granted her, in this battle.
Chance surveys the options, they are out of range for now. But will not be in a few seconds. Seeing they are all heading for Velencia, he races to her side, and sets up his attack stance. By now his body is covered in a bark like coating. Only his eyes beaming with power.
Khymara opens her palm, lets some wood cinders float, she traces a symbol and yells “plamen.” Surprised at the force the fire erupted she yells, eyes getting wider, then bracing herself. She is used to the thunder attack that erupts, but this was the most powerful fire spell she has ever cast. The stream of Arcane flame races above the ground and within a seconds time to the band of Harpy’s. Four of them were out of range or avoided it. Eight of the others were hit directly. Fire erupts in the middle of this flock, six of them, most of their bodies were on fire they flail around screaming (28hp of damage). Two of them turn and dove down, only getting singed pretty badly, but not engulfed (14hp of damage). The smell of burnt flesh and feathers wafts around in the light breeze. Khamyra back peddles a little, eyes wide looking at her hands smoking like a briquette off the grill.
Velencia gets a huge smile and mumbles, “thats my girl!” She then begins her attack, which in turn disrupts her concentration spell on Chance. The quarter elf, winces feeling the sound rush in, but triple-so with the screams and screechs of the Harpies. (Failed constitution savings throw) – he is prone for this round, with this overwhelm of the senses.
The Priestess eyes turn blank, grabbing her necklace she utters a few words. Within a few seconds time, black wispy smoke shoots for the half burning flock of Harpies. The six closest get hit and engulfed in this phenomena, and gag, flail while some still on fire. They plunge to the ground (36hp of necrotic damage). For her extra attack, she leans forward, puts a hand to her ear and says “I am sorry, you were saying something?”
The Onyx Elf rolls her eyes at Velencia, then she looks about seeing a lot of them falling. “Keep one alive!” she yells very loud.
The first three Harpies that made it to Velencia, attack Chance instead. The quarter elf, dodges, parries and even just takes a damageless hit. The three were ill prepared for the Champion, and half their attacks missed.
Two others dive bomb Velencia. She dodges an attack from one, only to have their claws rip through her shoulder (4hp of damage). The dress is flapping in the breeze now. “I just bought this dress you assface!” she yells, looking very annoyed, the High Priestess avoids another attack from a second Harpy, only to have its leg grabbed (rolled a “1”) and Velencia’s Kukri’s jammed into its leg twice (19hp of damage). The unsuspecting winged creature pulls away. causing more damage, tumble backwards and land hard on the ground. It groans and rolls around for a second and then lays lifeless in the tall grass and flowers.
One that avoided all the attacks so far goes streaking towards Khamyra who just had time to look up and see the slam into her, land on her with both claws digging deep (24hp of damage, rolled a natty). The Onyx elf yells a little in pain as her head snaps a bit and hits the ground hard.
Another Harpy dives on Velencia and the make shift club it wielded sails by the Priestess’s head but the claws rip through the otherside of the dress and shoulder (15hp of damage). “Dammit, go attack someone else in less expensive clothing!” She stammers wincing a bit from the hit.
The final living harpy heads towards Khamyra seeing her down on the ground. It slices a few times with her claws getting some damage off her arm and leg (4hp – rolled a 1 for damage twice).
Finally ready to fight back, Chance takes Silent fate, lines up the closest creature and rips it up, as to gut the thing. He did just that, digging deep into the creatures groin area, and all the way up to its oddly shaped titties (14hp of damage). The insides just tumble out, blood flying everywhere. It just instantly stops and falls to the ground lifeless. Chance then steps forward a foot or two and slashes at the closest creature, hitting, not as hard as he would of liked, but it connects (7hp of damage). It screeches and flaps a bit to get a little higher away from him.
With Khamyra on the ground, your eye catches this purple flash of light. She jams out both arms, arcane energy connects directly with the Harpy on top and sends it sailing 12-15 feet in the air, feathers all over (15hp of damage) and the energy connects with the other winged creature as well, not sending it anywhere but causing serious damage (15hp of damage). It screams in pain, does a barrel roll and lands hard to the ground, lifeless. With an extra surge of energy, she fidgets, and a sword erupts out of her hand, glowing with energy. It reminds everyone of the assassins blade she carries with her.
TOP OF ROUND TWO
Two harpies flying way to low, get their legs grabbed by Velencia, who utters some words and this black arcane transfer of energy just jolts them. One completely disintegrates, the other shrivels up and falls to the ground (72hp and 55hp of necrotic damage). The High priestess uses both hands in a cleaning motion and smirks.
Seeing only one other survivor in her party, the one Harpy flies up, and starts to high tail to the west.
The other is furious with Khamyra and dive bombs her. The unsuspecting Onyx elf was just admiring her sword for a half second and it was a half second to long. It connects, both clws, one across the shoulder and back the other along the face (11hp and 8hp of damage). “Arg!” she yells grabbing for her face, then getting much angrier.
Chance goes to race for the creature, but Velencia stops him. “Hold up, hold up, let Khamyra do her thing…” she says smirking a bit watching the Warlock seethe with frustration.
Khamyra already had a hand in a pouch, the component, which now just floats above her hand (not thrown) she traces a symbol and says “lamme” and the creature suddenly stiffens up. It stops flapping and it falls awkwardly to the ground. The Warlock puts the blade up to the creatures throat, eyes bursting with energy, blood dripping off of her. “Who. Sent. You? Why. Are. You. Here?” she says in a growl.
Velencia walks over, fidgeting with her now ruined dress, “hun, they can’t talk when they are held. Have chump here hold it, while you interrogate it.”
Grumbling the Champion, still in champion mode, walks over, grabs it and holds it. Khamyra breaks the spell, goes to say something and it wiggles free, jumping off of Chances shoulders, starting to flap its wings.
More mumbling behind the two, the bird like creature again, stiffens up, and goes sailing to the ground with a thud (3hp of fall damage).
Velencia, wide eyes of disgust, “you are as useful as a pimple on a trolls ass, do you know this? Does your fiance know this?” she walks over to the bird, “guess I will have to do this myself. You know what, go fold some laundry will you?”
Khamyra gives her a look, “Velencia, enough,” she says walking towards the two. Chance glaring at the Priestess, feeling anger build up.
The creature was grappled and interrogated. After a good 30 minutes, they figured it was not going to give anything away. When Khamyra looked like she had enough she got ready to cut the creatures head off. It’s eyes bulged and right before it lost its noggin, it utters the word “Corellon.” The Harpies head falls to the ground, Velencia with a look of disgust on her face as blood poured on her.
Khamyra and Chance both look at each other, confused. Velencia lets the creature go with a thud. She looks over her outfit and sighs heavily, wiping blood and guts off it.
Turn Based Starts Here
Chance: Chan: What the hell is Corellon? A name? Anyone? Since the shaved head skank is more worried about her dress than the fact we just got attacked.
Shaking my head.
DMaster: Gives you an evil annoyed look.
VEL: You would too chump, if you knew how much it cost!
Khamyra, goes to one knee, her sword dissipates in her hand. She gasps a bit.
VEL: As usual you have to be guided around like a 5 year old. Go heal your fiance.
Chance: Anger builds up more.
Chan: fuck yourself already.
Walk over to Khamyra and wrap my arms around her, and heal her
DMaster: You both glow a bit, and she then sighs
KHA: Bad mood hun?
Turns and gives you a kiss on the cheek
Chance: Lean into Khamyra and whisper in her ear
Chan: she is really pushing the wrong buttons, I am…
DMaster: Before she lets go, interrupting, says somewhat quiet.
KHA: Of course, it’s Velencia. Hello!
Velencia walks up and is standing next to you, hands out
VEL: Heal me
Chance: Stand, let out a laugh.
Chan: Heal yourself nasty bitch. My power can be used for better things.
Eyes turning to slits
DMaster: Her eyes also turn to slits
VEL: I know you are an idiot, but can you not understand common? Heal me now.
Khamyra stands up looking at her outfit, sighing, seeing it is ruined.
KHA: Guys, can we be a little civil…
Chance: Anger boils over.
Chan: Get bent, bitch!
Grab her by the throat and throw her as far and as hard as I can.
DMaster: Your power surges, a flash of light erupts from you. Khamyra backs up wide eyes, mouth open. Velencia’s eyes, flickering with power from your surge, almost pop out of her head and she flails around getting launched 10 feet from you. She momentarily lands on her feet, but it sent her tumbling back. She has uncanny dexterity, and she does a little tumble, ending up on one knee, eyes ablaze, daggers getting ripped out.
VEL: I am ready for you this time, Chump!
As you get ready to take her on, a massive line of fire erupts in between the two of you. Khamyra, eyes on fire, beyond angry. Her hands just has smoke billowing from them after she cast the spell.
KHA: FUCK! Goddamit, you two, just stop, just fucking stop! I just can’t take it anymore!
She stands looking at you two, visibly shaking. As her eyes calm down, the light that was; is replaced with tears.
Chance: Put silent fate away. Keep an eye on Velencia, but look over to Khamyra too.
DMaster: Velencia frowns and looks down. Khamyra turns and slowly stars to walk for the horses. Velencia points.
VEL: Go to her.
Chance: Chan: Choke on a dick.
Walk after her.
DMaster: You make it to the horses. She is just staring out, wiping a few tears from her face. Still a little shaken, probably way overwhelmed with everything that happened today.
Chance: Chan: Hun, I am…
DMaster: KHA: Save it.
She says avoiding eye contact.
KHA: I have to talk to Velencia before I go and get my sword.
She sees the Priestess walking towards her “place,” and she walks over to her. They have a quick conversation. You glance and see the Priestess yelling for a few people,
Chance: Doing everything in my power to calm down patting Toby. Get on, wait.
DMaster: Khamyra comes back and jumps on her horse.
KHA: Let’s go.
You glance back and a few people are walking out with large bags. The Priestess barking out orders.
Chance: Shaking my head not saying much, then look over to Khamyra
Chan: can we please just get as far away from here as possible?
DMaster: She just gives you a short blank stare and starts to ride.
Chance: Sigh and ride away.
DMaster: You are riding at a pretty good clip, it’s about 4:30-ish
clouds are parting a bit, some blue sky and a few peaks of sun. You get back, put your horses away an head inside.
Everyone looks at you when you get home, they see that Khamyra’s outfit is torn to shreds. Cullen, Novalee, Griffin, Dash and Trinity’s eyes perk up, frown.
Chance: Put Silent fate against the wall.
Chan: Cullun have you ever heard of someone named Corellon?
DMaster: He frowns, rolls a 11 for History.
CUL: No, can’t say I do. Why do you ask?
Khamyra is heading up the stairs, the kids just got up from their nap. You can hear them chatting away.
Chance: Go on to explain what happened with the harpies
DMaster: Everyone is listening, eyes a bit wide, curious. Khamyra is walking down with Krusty in her hands, Sisse has Crayon.
CUL: Who or what was this green haired thing you spoke of?
Not breaking stride or looking.
KHA: I think it was an Earth Siren, it seemed to control the Harpy’s.
She puts the kid in the chair, the little girl is smiling away.
CUL: A spriggan of sorts? Wow… well, I guess Magic has returned
Griffin chuckles, nodding.
GRI: Doesn’t take long does it?
Cullun and Griffin exchange glances
Chance: Chan: well according to Velencia, it only took what a week?
DMaster: Novalee looks over and sees tension in you and Khamyra. She walks over to Khamyra,
NOV: Hun, is everything ok?
She shakes her head, and is helping feed the kids. The Lazzier elf looks at you,
NOV: What did you do?
She says teasingly.
Chance: Chan: Let’s just say me and Velencia had a disagreement.
Turn and head for the loft, put the weapon away.
DMaster: GRIF: So just the average Freya then.
The room giggles but abruptly stops when they see Khamyra give them an odd, angry look. Trinity breaks the tense silence after a minute.
TRIN: If this was a year from now, I wouldn’t question it too much, but 1 week does not make a Earth Siren or a singing Spriggen
Again Cullun and Griffin exchange glances
Chance: Head back downstairs, seeing the googly eyeing each other, again.
Chan: okay, Griffin, Cullun. Whats with the looks?
DMaster: Cullun chuckles
CUL: An Earth Siren, is not evil, in fact it is good. The fact you even saw one is amazing. Before magic returned, it would have been impossible.
TRIN: Yeah that also vexed me. They are secluded and would never, ever team up with Harpy’s of all things.
Griffin looks at Cullun
GRI: Magic isn’t distorting things, is it?
Cullun shakes his head.
Chance: Chan: I think with the days events I just need some air
DMaster: Everyone nods, they continue to chat about it
Chance: making my way towards the door I need a break from all this magic talk and go for a long walk. Beginning to head towards where the stump is
DMaster: You sit on the stump, waiting and hoping. You sit there…thumb, up the, butt. The most useful Chance has been in a while.
Chance: Shaking my head figuring Finster must be doing who knows what in the god plane. I will begin to make my way back to the house.
DMaster: DM: Condensing. Chance heads back in. The Kids are on the ground playing. Reneta and Luella brought some chowder from a local vendor and Novalee is heating it up. Dinner is served, and it is good. The evening goes on, Khamyra spending time with the kids mostly. She is still quiet, Chance is still worried he is in the doghouse. You head to bed, Khamyra is already there with a light sheet over her, turned away.
Chance: Chan: Hun, I wanted to…
DMaster: KHA: Chance. Just let it be for the night ok? It was a long day and I just want to go to sleep right now.
She said pulling the sheet a little tighter, despite it being humid.
Chance: shaking my head. Lean over and give her a soft kiss on the cheek.
Chan: Love you. (quietly)
DMaster: She whirls around grabs your arm as you go to get up. She looks in your eyes, gives you a kiss. You two have foreheads together, she rubs her hand down your cheek.
KHA: I love you too. (quietly)
She drops back into the bed, turning to the side and adjusting her head on the pillow.
Chance: begin to undress. Silent fate within reaching distance. Close my eyes, fall asleep.
A Week of Time
Chance and his family have a good week of time to themselves mostly. The couple steals away a few times to make love or have tender moments. Mostly it was of them playing with the children. Khamyra visits with Velencia again in the middle of the following week. But, the Varrow issue is slowly dwindling down, Khamyra is not getting weird dreams and her eyes are all flip-a-floppering.
This ranges 7 days later, the couple goes to bed on that following Thuralay and wake up…
Freya (friday) 7:00 AM
DMaster: After a decent sleep, you get up after hearing:
“I’m tired. Of pumping your mom. Get up!” from the cryer.
Chance: Covering my mouth not to break out laughing look over to see if Khamyra is still asleep
DMaster: She is not in the bed. You glance over and the kids are still fast asleep. DM: Condensing. Chance goes looking for Khamyra and she is not in the house. Chance and Griffin have a little chat about yesterdays events. Sisse comes in and has the Kids awoke. The Champion wants to do the morning stuff, take a more active role in their life. He does, changing them, feeding them and then starting to play with them. By mid morning, eventually Khamyra comes in from the back door, everyone looks over.
KHA: Just went for a run.
She has sweat beading down her head, sweat drenching her. Not only from that but it is starting to rain.
Chance: I look over as well when she comes walking in. I walk over to her and take her hand in mine
Chan: you had me worried hun, when I woke up and you were not there
DMaster: She gives you a look.
KHA: Needed time to think, and wanted to chat with Cassie.
Chance: Chan: oh?
DMaster: She smiles softly, just then the front door opens
UNDERLING: M’Lord someone is here, they do not want…
Getting interrupted, someone tries to burst in the room, the underling tries to stop her. Within a second she had him pinned on the ground making him groan and eat dirt. Khamyra looks up, eyes wide…
KHA: Mom?
