First Five Starts Now
The Champion in full glory is just standing there, pondering. He is half in shock, half in confusion. The man in full plate slowly looks up to him wondering what he, or it, is thinking. The fact they would even utter the name Immryllion is shocking to him considering all of Legon has forgotten her.
Chance just turns and walks out of the room. The guard at the door closes it after he leaves, Chance stops the man before he locks it.
“Please put a bag over their heads, I will wait,” he says ordering the henchmen.
He nods, grabs some sacks from Cullun’s lab, walks in, and covers their heads, much to their fright.
“mmph, mmph, what the hell!” is all that could be heard from under the sacks.
Chance walks in, and touches each one of the intruders, healing them. They went from frantically flexing and yanking on their bindings to a quiet soft panting of their breath. The henchman, after kneeling to the Champion, nods his head, walks in and starts to take off the coverings.
By then the glowing man was walking up the staircase, out of the shed while putting on his necklace.
As he strides across the backyard he is met by a henchmen. “No one sees them, I mean no one, only me. That includes anyone in the society, understood?”
The henchman nods in understanding and walks for the shed.
Chance walks into the house, Novalee is heating up water for tea and Cullun is sitting at the table, he looks up to the Champion. “M’Lord, or I apologize, Chance, I took it upon myself to look over the elf with the braided hair, and…” he scrunches his nose, “this weird dagger and a note in a language I have never seen was on her, not to mention the smell… smells like…”
“Sulfur and Ass, I know,” Chance says, interrupting the historian. “Not the first time. Can you translate that language?” he asks, slowly walking by the table, kind of anxious to get to Khamyra.
Cullun, a bit shocked that this did not surprise him, replies, “doubt it, I need some kind of reference point, hell even 1 or 2 words translated I could at least start, but I have nothing,” he says frowning.
The Champion nods at him, gives him a look and points up.
Cullen nods in understanding. He stands and grabs some mugs out of a cupboard behind him.
Chance makes his way to the loft, and quickly scans the area for his fiance, and no luck. He notices the balcony door ajar, so he walks to it and goes through. Khamyra is standing leaning on the railing looking over the backyard on a beautiful night, at least weather wise.
Khamyra jumps a little when she feels Chance put his arm around her waist. She looks down, shakes her head. The Onyx elf has been fighting tears since the moment she drove her blade into that elf.
“Is this what it feels like?” She asks suddenly, breathing somewhat heavy. “Killing in cold blood, without a choice, and ruining peoples lives?”
She stumbles on that thought and she dips her head a bit more. The tears started to well up, and she shook her head a bit.
The Champion pushes her hair away from the side of her face, leans over and gives her a kiss on her cheek. She shudders for a minute, and leans into the big man. He then wraps his arms around the shoulders, enveloping her.
For sometime, she just lays in his arms. In and out of crying, a few things are said, but Chance stays quiet through the whole thing, just letting her work through it on her own.
Eventually she gets under more control, she stands up straight and looks at her love, her fiance. Gives him a curious look, “don’t have anything to say?”
He stands up, puts his hands on her cheeks and looks deep into her eyes. “My love, our home is safe once again. No matter the cost, the sun will rise this morning, our kids will wake up, they will smile, they will giggle… and apparently make a hell of a mess.”
Tears streaming down her face, with a smile of understanding. She chuckles a bit with the last thing he says. She just buries herself into the Champion.
After a long embrace, hand in hand they make their way down to the table where Novalee has some hot tea for everyone. The blonde elf walks over to Khamyra and they hug for a long time. Afterwards, the group talks for a bit, finishes their tea and heads back to bed.
The morning comes far too quickly, the kids awake far too early and the night’s events are far too close in their memory.
Khamyra gets the kids ready for the day, and heads down to the bottom floor. The house is filled with an aroma of breakfast foods and bean water. She smiles, looks at Novalee and they exchange warm looks.
As Khamyra puts Krusty in her chair, the adorable onyx elf baby giggles for a moment and it hits the Warlock; what Chance said the night before and tears start to fall. She gives her daughter a kiss, then does the same with Crayon. The pain is still there for her, knowing she took that life but she knows that her children are safe, her family and her fiance as well.
Novalee notices and slowly walks over to the Onyx Elf. Their eyes meet. Instead of a sad moment, it was a subtle feeling of safety and contentment that was exchanged with a warm hug.
Cullen and Chance both smile wide and get the table ready for Breakfast. Crayon points at Cullun and the historian lets out a laugh, “No little one, I think the floor ate more food than you did the other day, I will leave it up to the professionals.” He finishes with a big smile to the giggling baby boy.
Everyone lets out a chuckle and the morning moves on with good talk, laughs, giggles and a little mess from the kiddo’s.
Khamyra goes up to the loft with the kids and sets up a blanket and some toys. She wants to be as far away from the prisoners as possible; plus she doesn’t want to let them know they have children. Novalee is doing dishes after whipping up some quick stew. Cullun just finished setting up the table outside with food and water.
The three prisoners are led out of the shed area, to the table filled with food and drink. The henchman takes off their bindings. They are looking around suspiciously, then back at Chance who is sitting at one end of the table, leaning forward on it.
“Sit, sit, you don’t need an invitation. Eat, drink I am sure you are hungry and thirsty,” the quarter elf says beckoning them to sit.
They cautiously sit, and just stare at Chance. You hear one of their stomachs growl and the guy who had the dual swords couldn’t resist and grabs the bowl of stew and a spoon and starts eating.
The woman, wide eyes, “stop, they probably poisoned it!” she says looking over.
The dual sword guy stops, looks at Chance. The Champion shakes his head, “why would we waste hundreds of gold poisoning you? If we wanted you dead, we would do what we normally do; take you out to the forest and cut your head off.”
They all just stare at Chance. He doesn’t flinch. They swallow hard and the other two, no longer able to resist, start to drink and eat.
“Even if we found the necklace you or your buyer wanted, we would no longer have it. You see we have a ‘buyer’ too, so to speak,” he says leaning back in his chair, “he would have collected weeks ago.” He finishes with a nod of his head and a sigh.
“You said something about getting hit with a fake too? You mean there are two fakes?” the man in the platemail asks in between bites of stew that he was enjoying.
Chance chuckles and nods his head, “if our information is correct, there are probably 4 or 5 of these fakes. That left us back at square one, maybe even farther back, like square zero,” Chance says using his Charisma to persuade them to believe him.
It seemed to have worked.
The man with the dual swords is eating the big bowl up, “wow, this is really good stew, I would like the recipe.”
Both the woman and the other man shake their heads a bit and smirk, “you couldn’t roast a stick without setting a town on fire,” the platemail guy says in between bites and gulps, but fully agreed to how good this was.
Chance smiles wide, “our resident cutie elf, part of my family, is an amazing cook,” thinking of Novalee and getting warm fuzzies.
“Why are you doing this?” the man in full plate-mail asks, “I am sorry if I am being too forward, but I am confused.”
Chance sighs. Looks up at them with his haunting eyes. “Because I see a lot of me, and my group, in you guys,” he says, then continues “I too lost someone very close to me while out on a mission…” he trails off remembering and clenching his jaw.
“Yeah?” the woman says in between eating, “what happened?”
The platemail guy gives her a look like it wasn’t polite to ask, but she just shrugs her shoulders and continues to eat.
“He was my best friend. Grew up with him for as long as I can remember. We were clearing a compound of some undead, and, well, it didn’t go well,” Chance was able to spit out, memories flooding back in of that horrific night.
The dual sword guy, with a less than intelligent speaking voice, “how’d he buy it? Did he die… a hero?” he says with an honest look and expression.
The man in the platemail, just sighs really loud and shakes his head. He seems to be the one with the manners and intelligence of the group, at least who is left.
Chance smiles wide. “Yes, he did. In one of his last breaths, he fired an arrow right between the eyes of that damn dog, it was actually quite epic.” he says in deep thought remembering.
The same guy, drinking up the mug of water, looks at the Champion, “a dog? A dog was attacking you?”
Chance nods his head, “yes, the size of a small horse, two headed, red eyes, teeth that resembled short swords and from the bowels of the underearth,” he finishes wincing a bit. “Two of those fuckers, and did I mention their saliva was poisonous? We were so unprepared for that night, so unprepared,” he trails off again, in deep thought.
The three of them just staring at him, mouth wide, eyes pretty big. “Demon Dogs, you are shitting us,” the dual sword guy says, kind of shaking his head.
The Champion looks down, “I wish I was. I wish it was all a bad fucking dream, but it wasn’t. I had to come to terms with the reality of the situation. We fought side by side and I could not protect him, I could not help him,” and it finally hits him, with a shaky voice, “he died in my arms, his last words to me were ‘I am going to miss you too, buddy.’”
The party stops eating for a moment. Look over to this big man, who is starting to get a little emotional, and they all bow their head in either respect or remembrance of Finnea.
The big quarter elf, just puts his one hand on his forehead, trying to get his emotions under control.
The table is quiet for a moment, they are all but done eating and drinking.
Chance looks up, “so I am going to let you guys go. Your weapons and horses are at the edge of the sparse forest out back” he says while pointing in the direction the party came in last night. “Finnea’s body is on her horse, wrapped up.”
“You are just going to let us go?” the platemail guy says, a bit shocked.
Chance nods. “What are we going to do with you? We got the information we needed, you told us outright and I feel we both have been honest with each other. Anyways, what can we do to you worse than what happened last night? Let’s just part ways.”
They all look at each other and nod their head, sadness washing over them.
“Just a word of warning,” Chance says as both him and the group stand up. He makes it a point to look them each in the eye. “You never step foot in Grayshale again, ever. I will personally rip you limb from limb without hesitation. Understood?”
They look at him, understand that he probably could do that, and nod.
“Also, your ‘buyer’ is not someone to be trifled with, get your bearings, find a place and tuck away for a while. If she can do what I think she can, you will not live to see the leaves fall,” Chance finishes nodding his head.
“She?” Platemail guy says, “It’s a she,” he repeats himself looking at his two companions.
Chance nods, “a she, and let’s just say, what you witnessed last night from me, pales in comparison to this bitch.”
They seem a little alarmed and curious. The Platemail guy wanted to ask something, but stopped himself. He looks at Chance in his eyes. “Thank you for being so understanding, ” platemail says, “I would like to offer our…”
Chance puts his hands up, shakes his head. “Just go. Be careful and pray that we never cross paths again. At least not as enemies.”
They nod, turn and head for their horses. Chance watches them as they head out. They reach the edge, tears between the three of them and long hugs, seeing Finnea’s body on her horse. Chance holds in his emotions, but could have easily just balled watching this unfold, knowing just how horrific it can be.
Cullun walks out and stands next to the Champion who is watching them ride off. “Safe to use my lab again?” the Historian, make shift Alchemist asks, meaning the basement of the shed.
“All clear,” he says, picking up the bowls and mugs and bringing them inside. “Go make your poisons, go make us some coins.”
Chance spends the rest of the day with Khamyra, Novalee and the kids. It was a solemn day, but a good one. They were safe for now, and everyones healthy, and by the smell of the diapers, the kids are very, very healthy.
Turn Based Starts Here
FREYA (Friday) 7:00 AM
DMaster: You and Khamyra wake up. The lovely crier again.
CRY: I am always thankful for my penis, I always have one way to shut up my wife! GET UP you lazy slogs!
KHA: That was new, and confusing
You two can hear the babies rustling around but they are not wining or crying.
Chance: Chan: I don’t know whether to laugh at that or be afraid
chuckling as I look over at Khamyra. Climb out of bed and go check on the kiddos with a big smile on my face
DMaster: They are content, rolling around, but the smell is not “content.” pee-you! Stink stank! (Rolled a 3 on the shit savings throw)
Chance: pick them up and take them over to the bed making a face
DMaster: She shakes her head, Khamyra points to the changing table.
KHA: Change them Champion,
She wrinkles her nose
KHA: Oh boy. You might have to take off your necklace for protection to do it though
She chuckles, wondering what the hell did she feed them yesterday.
Chance: Chan: I think we could bottle this smell up. Our foes would run in fear of the smell alone
chuckling a bit looking at her
DMaster: She giggles and nods. Khamyra is grabbing fresh diapers, some clothes and powder. DM: Moving this along. The two of them change and clean the kids, head downstairs, feed the kids and have a good breakfast. They do notice Cullun looking tired and worn out though. Between Novie and Cullun, mum’s the word.
Chance: after everyone has eaten, I will get the kiddo’s blanket out and set it on the floor. So that they can play. Then grab my change of clothes and go get myself cleaned up.
DMaster: As you are just about done, the door opens, a henchmen sticks his head in
HEN: M’Lord, you have…
He gets interrupted and pushed out of the way. In walks Cassie and Affinity.
AFF: I think we are safe to enter… don’t you think?
She has a big smirk on her face, as the two gorgeous women make their way in. It was much to the disagreement of Camerondale Guards outside, though.
Chance: A big smile goes across my face seeing Cassie and Affinity walking in. I walk over to them and give them both a big hug almost forgetting my strength
DMaster: They give you a dual hug, both smell incredible. Their eyes bulge seeing the kiddos. Both of them “oohhhhhhhh!” Then they race over to the kids, squatting down, playing with them a little. As they walked past there was a woman who followed them in, standing at the front door as it was closing. Dressed very well, a proper blouse, simple but nice pants, matching shoes. She has really cute, mid-range blonde hair and a wonderful smile.
Chance: Chan: well what do I owe this visit?
DMaster: Khamyra walks out of the bathroom and skitters to a halt
KHA: Welcome! I did not hear you come in!
Cassie stands up, looks and smiles. Khamyra walks over and they exchange hugs.
CASS: It was high time that we got to see these little ones
Chance: an even bigger smile comes across my face but trying to keep my thoughts focused even though they smell incredible. Sproink.
DMaster: Affinity stands up and smiles and then without warning, she gets a big hug from Khamyra
KHA: Thank you for the guards (she says softly)
Affinity giggles a little hugs back, nodding her head.
CASS: We come bearing gifts, so to speak
Chance: Chan: oh really? Do tell Cassie. and yes Affinity, thank you again for the guards
look over at Affinity and smile
DMaster: Affinity smiles back. Cassie waves over this woman
CASS: This is Sisse. (pronounced SISSY)
They exchange glances.
AFF: Yeah, weeks ago you came to us looking for a nanny of sorts and we almost forgot. Well, Mom, almost did, anyways.
Cassie’s eyes light up a bit, smirk on her face giving her daughter a playful dirty look. The woman coughs a little.
CASS: She just arrived from Magus Orion with her husband and is looking for work, she is a governess
Affinity giggles,
AFF: That is what reminded her that you were looking for one
Cassie nudges her daughter, and they playfully nudge each other back. The woman slowly walks over to the kids, looks down and has a mix of surprise and “awww” on her face.
Chance: Chan: should warn you these two little ones here have a very powerful weapon at their disposal
waving my hand in front of my nose, chuckling
DMaster: Affinity looks over, eyes big and she burst out laughing. Cassie leans and says something and they both giggle and nod their heads
SIS: I am not accustomed to this age of children, but they are precious and would love a chance to get to know them.
Chance: Chan: I can’t speak for Khamyra, but we would welcome having some help
giving Khamyra a look
DMaster: Cassie grabs you both and affinity follows, you two walk to the other side of the room close to the back door. Sisse squats down and is playing with the kids
CASS: Consider it a gift to you, it’s paid for, at least for the next year or so.
Chance: Chan: uhhhh…what?
eyes getting really big
DMaster: AFF: Her husband moved here to replace Obyren. He is leaving for Magus Orion. Her hubby will be very busy and away a lot, so…
CASS: You might have to get a room for her, or something. I am sure she will stay with you guys for days on end rather than traveling all the time.
KHA: And she is not a psychotic killer?
Chance: Chan: well, my love, I am sure with the way both Cassie and Affinity are they would have known right away if she was or not
smirking looking at these three ladies who I have come to care about a lot
DMaster: Affinity chuckles,
AFF: She is proficient with a sword too
Cassie smirks and nods. Khamyra’s eyes bulge a little, taken back by that thought.
Chance: Chan: so they will be well taken care of and protected. All in one, I for one am all for it. But as I said I can’t speak for my fiance.
DMaster: Thinking for a moment, Khamyra looks at you
KHA: Test her
she looks back at the large cabinet you put the wooden swords in. Cassie smirks. You go and grab the wooden swords out of the cabinet. The woman stands up and glances over
Chance: Walking over to her.
Chan: So I hear you know how to handle a sword? Perhaps you would like to show me?
holding out one of the wooden swords for her to grab, as I gesture to the back yard.
DMaster: She does not go to the backyard, there is plenty of room in the living room. She nods, grabs the sword
SIS: My husband has trained me on and off for some time now. I can hold my own
DM: Todd rolls a 4 for himself, she gets a 12. Proving herself to him.
With a few simple thrusts and parries, you can tell she is precise and quick. Definitely holding her own.
Chance: nodding my head and smiling at her. Give her an approving nod. Take the sword back.
DMaster: She seemed to enjoy it too, had a smile on her face
Chance: when we are done, put the swords away, look over towards Khamyra and just give her a nod.
DMaster: Khamyra smiles already knowing your answer the second you heard she could handle the sword. You make your way back over, the woman then sits on the ground and is playing with the kids. They are giggling and yapping away.
AFF: Well, we might want her back
Khamyra nods her head, already suspicious.
KHA: How far along are you?
Cassie smiles real big
AFF: 3 months I think? How did you know?
Khamyra giggles
KHA: To begin with, you are glowing. The looks on our children, whispering and smiling at some events that will unfold for you, get some clothes pins, and the look on Cassies face. Proud.
She responds with a big smile on her face, almost starting to cry. Cassie nods and smiles as well.
Chance: eyes bulge, hearing that and smile real big
DMaster: Khamyra again walks over and hugs her
KHA: Congratulations!
Chance: Give Cassie a hug then waiting my turn to hug Affinity
Chan: well I must say congratulations to you as well
DMaster: You hug. Cullun and Novalee come in from the back door, surprised to see people here. Pleasantries all around, Sisse walks over to your group.
SIS: So am I satisfactory?
She says with a playful grin
Chance: Nod my head.
Chan: you are more than satisfactory
DMaster: SIS: I can start tomorrow if you wish
Khamyra nods her head
KHA: OK, It might be a bit before we can find you some room, but we will make it work
Chance: Chan: we will make it work as we have always, I can’t thank you both enough for this gift.
Making it a point to hug Cassie and Affinity
DMaster: They hug, Khamyra invites them to sit and chat. Everyone sits, Novie pours some water and ale for those who want it. Good conversation and laughs. After about a half hour, the back door opens and in walks Velencia. You thank Finster she is in her disguise. The now blonde woman stops, eyes get big, makes a motion with her foot and all you hear is
RAW: Squawk!!
Then behind her some feathers fly. She quickly closes the door.
Chance: Make my way over to her and give her eyes to go outside, before Cassie and Affinity pick up her nastiness. Even with her disguise, they can read her mind.
Chan: If you will excuse me for a moment, I need to speak with our rude guest.
DMaster: Khamyra’s eyes are big, Cullun is looking around and Novie cringes. You and Velencia walk out awkwardly to the backyard. The door closes. Rawek is on the ground holding his stomach, in pain.
RAW: Squawk! (cough) chirp, Squawk!
He’s not happy getting kicked in the mid section by Velencia. Unfortunately when you grab her hand, your skin touches each other, sparks fly and a surge of power rushes between the both of you. You pray they did not see that.
Chance: Take off my necklace quickly, still glaring at Velencia, heal Rawek.
Chan: damn it you bitch, must you show up unannounced and with royals here nonetheless…
Saying this in a hiss, lower tones.
DMaster: After she straightens herself out from the surge
VEL: Oh is that who they are?
she chuckles, gets an evil grin. Rawek is standing up much better.
VEL: Sorry Raw, people in there that can’t know who we are
RAW: Son of a… squawk
She cringes a little knowing it probably hurt.
Chance: Put necklace back on.
Chan: Damn it, this is no laughing matter. You are public enemy number one for them. And as powerful as you think you are, Cassie and Affinity have powers that could crush your little fucking walnut rattling around in there
Point at her head.
DMaster: She looks impressed at your rant, and healing of the bird. The multi-task. Rawek is looking around.
RAW: Thank you Champion.
Chance: Chan: Can you come back later, or maybe die in a ditch somewhere?
gritting my teeth
DMaster: She frowns at you. Rawek stops, pauses, then darts behind the well as quickly as you have ever seen him move. The back door opens up and Cassie walks out, a curious look on her face. Khamyra tried to stop her and failed.
VEL: They can read minds can’t they?
she says softly, leaning into you
Chance: Sigh, nodding my head in response
DMaster: She closes her eyes a moment, then opens them, her eyes flutter with power.
Chance: Give her a look, like don’t even start something.
DMaster: she walks past you, straight for Cassie
VEL: Good morning, I am sorry we dropped in unannounced.
Puts her hand out, and Cassie shakes it looking at her funny. The Baroness glances down and sees a few feathers laying around the backdoor entrance.
Chance: straighten up and go back to thinking of this gift Cassie and Affinity have given to me and Khamyra. Masking any thoughts of queen twat waffle.
DMaster: Cassie looks around
CASS: We?
VEL: Oh yes, by we, I meant me.
She smiles, a big fake smile.
VEL: My name is Clara. I am here to meet Cullun, if he is free, of course. We have an appointment, and on such a lovely day, don’t you think? Oh I am sorry who are you?
Cassie is just staring at this bigger than life woman, who is rambling on.
CASS: uhh.. the Baroness
VEL: Oh, my! Of Grayshale? Of this province?
Cassie looks genuinely confused. Mind you “Clara” is in skin tight leather pants, a blouse, with her boobs practically falling out, and you kind of already know Cassie likes women too. Too what extent you are not sure.
Chance: making a coughing noise and look at Clara
DMaster: CASS: Camerondale.
Cullun bolts out the back door
CULL: Oh, umm.
Chance: Giving him a look.
Chan: Cullun you have a visitor. you remember Clara, right?
DMaster: CULL: Oh yes yes, Clara, uh huh
CLA: We need to go look at the real estate prospect this morning, it is only a 3 minute walk, by a really nice shop owned by… oh well no mind. You are a silly old man, always forgetting, why just the other day…
CULL: AHEM, yes.
He walks to her, grabs her hand and heads for the shed
Chance: Eyes big, seeing Velencia turn into someone completely different. Shaking my head a bit and smile at Cassie
DMaster: Cassie is looking around like she is getting punked
CASS: What. Was. that?
Chance: Shake head.
Chan: It never ends Cassie, something and someone new all the time. I was going to say there was something I wanted to show you.
DMaster: She nods her head as the door opens again and Khamyra sticks her head out, eyes big
KHA: Everything, ok?
Chance: nod my head and give her a look. I walk over to Cassie and put my arm around her shoulder
Chan: Come, come, let’s go inside. I promise not to get too excited showing you this. i just have to promise not to touch it.
DMaster: Cassie chokes a second, and gives you a look. Khamyra’s eyes bulge, look of surprise. Then she burst out laughing
KHA: That escalated quickly
Cassie chuckles and walks in the house with the three of you.
Chance: Stop a moment, blush a little, and be a little proud of myself defusing Velencia’s display.
Chan: Oh sorry, that came out wrong, so very wrong.
Smirking a bit and I run upstairs and bring down the sword I just got.
DMaster: Sisse is now done playing with the kids, they were giggling and yapping away with her.
Chance: Chan: so I recently bought this from a rather odd character who runs Mystmura’s Curios
looking over at Cassie as I show her the sword
DMaster: Still a little confused by “Clara” she glances over to it and then squints. Then like she realized what it was. She steps back almost backing into her daughter.
CASS: Uhhh Chance, where did you get that?
Her eyes are big. Affinity looks on with a little bit of worry. Khamyra just rolls her eyes.
Chance: Chan: uhhh, like I said Mystmura’s right here in the ‘shale.
DMaster: KHA: He is like a kid with a new toy
chuckles, smiling at you.
CASS: That is Devon’s weapon. It is pure Evil Chance.
Affinity is now looking the sword over, eyes grown bigger.
Chance: Chan: well not in my hands. It is probably made for me.
DMaster: She is thinking
CASS: yes. I remember now, Helkyr said we shouldn’t sell it, and we should destroy it. But this woman paid hundreds of gold for it. At the time we needed the money, badly, marching out thousands of troops, and the battle was not cheap… and…
She stops, smirks.
CASS: Now I sound like that Clara character.
Chance: Chan: Not at all, but that woman was rather fascinating to me. As was the other sword she had on the wall.
I go on to begin to describe the sword Mystmura had on the wall
DMaster: Affinity realizes what you are saying and she is shaking her head at you, trying to get your attention. Khamyra picks up on it, realizing you are either in your usual freak mode or trying to cover something up.
KHA: Well, yes, thank you so much for everything!
She proceeds to hug Cassie.
Chance: my eyes snap to Affinity right away and I stop. Shaking my head and looking down a bit.
Chan: Sorry.
DMaster: You all exchange pleasantries and they leave. Sisse said she will be here at 8am and be off on Starday. Then back on Monalay, staying for 3 days or longer. They headed out, they had a carriage and an entourage of guards. They seemed very relieved they came out in one piece.
KHA: You are as subtle as blowing ass in the middle of an opera
Novlee bursts out laughing as she cleans up the table. Khamyra is looking at you, blank stare, shaking her head.
Chance: Chan: hey trying to cover stuff up from them two! Hell, give me a fight, I’ll crush some skulls, but cloak and dagger and… oh hell
He chuckles.
Chan: (quietly) I sound like Clara…
DMaster: They both nod at you, wide eyes. The back door opens and in walks Clara and Cullun.
CULL: They didn’t suspect anything did they?
KHA: Other than Chance is a dingleberry, no I don’t think so
NOV: Dingle-berry?
Chance: Chan: you know if I didn’t love you so much I would take that as an insult
walking over and smack her on the ass
DMaster: She shakes her head.
VEL: Wait there chump, we would like for all of you to take a walk on the town. It is a beautiful day out anyways.
CULL: Yeah, I guess it’s time.
DM: Next section condensed.
The group gears up with the kids and walk through grayshale, ending up at a shop front called Cullun’s. The alchemist was not happy about the name. The High Priestess gives them the entire tour. (find the map to see the entire store). She also shows some reinforced doors, in case of an attack. Metal reinforced with a large bar. They meet a worker / follower named Alonzo. Velencia wants a bard for the opening… you finish out the tour. Khamyra is looking over all the books.
VEL: The grand opening is going to be Monday. I am thinking of some music, maybe a bard or something.
Cullun sighs at hearing that Monday is the grand opening.
Chance: Chan: oh, I know of a very talented bard
DMaster: Velencia looks over to you, eyebrow raises, smirk.
VEL: Not a guy who ate a bowl of bad beans and an empty jug?
Everyone in the room laughs, and Alonzo almost spills his ingredients.
Chance: Chan: no actually he is rather talented. no jugs. no beans. no gas. Unless that is your style.
Scrunch my nose.
Chan: If so, eww?
DMaster: Again, resting bitch face staring at you as Novie giggles.
VEL: Can you see if he can work this Monday then? That would mean being useful. I guess miracles do happen.
Khamyra shoots her a look, trying not to smirk.
Chance: Chan: I will have to see if I can track him down. It has been awhile since we last talked.
Chan: Velen… or I mean Clara, might I suggest you keep that look up? Just in case. Especially after that little spectacle with the Baroness. I mean really, who were you?
Just shaking my head
DMaster: She gives you an “uh durr” look, then laughs
VEL: I love mind readers, I fuck with them every time. She probably thinks I am a grandmother of Hill Giants that sells housing for goblins and orcs. So easy to mask your thoughts. No problem for you Chump, huh?
Chance: Kind of shake my head.
Chan: no, I haven’t mastered that.
DMaster: Khamyra went to interject seeing where this was going, but was too late.
VEL: I mean, there is really nothing to mask up in there anyways, huh?
she stops and laughs, as does the rest of the room.
Chance: Blankly stares at her. Shaking my head and rub my temples.
DMaster: You, Khamyra and Novie head back to the house with the kids. Making sure you have your purse, head out to Mystmura’s in hopes that she got some things in. Unfortunately she did not.
DMaster: NEA: It’s been like week hun, I depend on people bringing me stuff really.
she chuckles
Chance: Chan: I am sorry just having a hard time finding Armor, and I cant be fighting monsters bare-assed. Unless I want to scare someone at the sight of that
chuckling a bit
DMaster: She shakes her head and smiles.
NEA: The forge down the road, a few doors down, can do custom fittings, just go order it
Chance: Chan: thank you. I suppose I shouldn’t keep you from how busy you are
looking around and chuckling again
DMaster: Just then three people walk in, one is dressed to the nines. The other two in cloaks and hoods. They walk right to the sword on the wall
MAN: How much for that sword?
She sighs
NAE: Not for sale
Chance: smirk, nod my head at her and make a quick exit and head to the forge
DMaster: You see some people working around the forge, they greet you. As you walk in, right in front of you is a basic looking hard leather studded armor. It’s big too. It won’t turn too many heads, but it just might save yours in battle.
Chance: eyes get real big looking the armor over.
Chan: So how much for this armor right here?
DMaster: Chance talks to a blacksmith, and ends up paying 60gp for it with free fitting. They take his measurements and tell him to be back tomorrow.
Chance: smile as I put the parchment in my belt and head out head back to home
DMaster: as you walk out, you watch as someone gets thrown out of Mystyries place. Looks to have a weapon.
Chance: I will make my way towards Mystmura’s and this person that just got thrown out
DMaster: He lands on his butt, scrambles to get back up and starts back in. Looks to be the rich looking man that walked in before. You are really the only one around except a few people a long way off down the road.
Chance: Curse under my breath, knowing all I have is one of those black daggers. I pull out the black dagger as my hand goes near the necklace. Then go in behind the rich looking person.
Battle Written Out
Naerva is in a battle with the three people who walked in earlier. Her store is 6-7 store fronts down from your potion shop. It is just as deep but only half as wide as Cullun’s. One of the hooded people has an odd look to them, but is somewhat behind the half dwarf. There is another hooded person directly in front fighting, and the rich looking man directly in front of the Champion.
The half dwarf is balancing on a teetering chair, swinging her sword that looks as sharp as it could possibly be. She is yelling, hooting and hollering. Think of a fantastical pirate movie fight scene. It seems to be distracting and confounding the attackers.
Chance enters the shop, quietly behind the man dressed in nice clothes. He takes off his necklace and instantly thinks of bark. Instead of his usual beams of light from the transformation, the bark covers it instantly. This allowed the attackers to stay focused on the half-dwarf and not the quiet Champion.
Naerva, still balancing, dips her weight and chair falls forward. With that, the attacker tries to move out of the way but can’t. The chair landed on his foot, and the sword drove deep into his chest, piercing his heart, killing him instantly (8hp + 6hp of poison). He staggers back, foot released from the fallen chair, he hits the counter, then slides down and his butt hits the ground, head slumps forward; dead.
Chance is in range and lifts his dagger up. He drives it deep into the man’s neck. He can feel it hit the spine, busting through bone and muscle (Rolled a 20 on a sneak attack). He then rips it upwards as he takes it out, slicing as much of the head in half as he could. (28hp of damage) The guy just lurches forward, bangs his head off the counter and crumples to the floor.
The half dwarf sees Chance, and smiles. “Welcome to my little rodeo!” she yells, then turns to face the last opponent. Both Naerva and Chance’s smile fades away as the woman pulls her hood down unveiling light orangish eyes, reddish skin and large dark red horns. “Fuck, an Odius, man I hate them,” Chance says without even thinking.
As there was a pause in the action, Naerva with a bit more dexterity than Chance thought she had, jumps over the counter and grabs a shiny bastard sword off the wall. Unsheathes it and throws it to Chance. The big man catches it and approaches the Odius.
The female Odius’s tail sways around violently, knocking some items off a table. Her eyes flicker back between the man and woman now slowly creepin’ into her position. She smiles softly to herself, it is what she wanted.
The half dwarf did not like the look of that tail. So she grabbed a few daggers, jumped the counter, really quickly wiped them down with a substance and launched them at the red skinned creature. The first one gets swatted away by the nimble tail, making a clanking sound hitting the ground behind a counter. The second one the Odius wasn’t quick enough. The creature has plate armor on, and the half dwarf found a seam where it connects (3hp). A weird hiss comes out her mouth, she grabs the dagger and throws it to the floor, grinning a little (immune to poison).
The Odius looks at you, but uses her tail to swat at Naerva. The half dwarf was ready for it, jumped over it like a jump rope and even gave it a little swat (rolled natty).
Then it reaches into its cloak, grabs a whip made of metal and spikes and snaps it in full at Naerva. Chance ducks almost getting hit. It slams into her and violently wraps itself around The half dwarf. The shop owner’s eyes are bulging, completely taken by surprise. The whip is around her completely and the tail end wraps itself around her thigh, digging in deep (6hp). She is now grappled by a metal whip. Any struggle will dig the spikes in deeper. The creature then locks it into her belt, freeing her hand.
Chance lunges forward and slices, trying for the thin space between the armor and the thick skull of the odius. Fully expecting to hit, Chance is set off balance because the creature just leaned a little and he missed. In frustration he swings back again, to the same spot and the creature does the same thing. “What the actual fuck!?” he yells, jumping back away from the creatures reach.
Naerva tries to twirl and unravel herself, and it fails miserably. The spikes dig in deeper (4hp), she yells a little, now getting a little worried, she has never been grappled like this before. With that failure, the long tailed woman popped out a dagger from her wrist (a retractable blade) and drove it into Naerva’s shoulder, missing more vital organs by the shop owner squirming.
The odius looks to see Chance or this ‘thing’ no longer with a layer of whatever on him; he is just glowing, eyes flickering with fire and power. She grabs something on her belt from inside the cloak and flings a potion at Chance. With skill, he swats it and it bounces off a table and smashes on the floor (made a dexterity save). It sparks and smokes (1hp) and with his bigger sword he fans the smoke a few times to get it away from him (made a constitution save). Chance double takes and remembers Bastian had something like this too, during their battle at his home when Thorn Gate attacked.
With Naerva grappled, the Odius just plunges its dagger into her chest area twice, making the poor half dwarf gasp (3 +4hp). Blood spurts out a little, her shirt starting to fill with blood.
Seeing that he instinctively jumps in range and again aims for her neck. Clink! is all that can be heard, the blade ricochets off the plate mail pauldron. “Did you drink before coming back?” the half dwarf muses despite being stuck.
While that was happening, Naerva frees her arm, her arm streaming blood from the spikes, she raises her arm to slash at the creature. Practically without looking, the tail rears up and slams it against the hand and sword. Again, Naerva was completely surprised by this and lost grip of the sword. Between sweat and blood, it flies out of her hands, clanking down next to her on the floor. Her eyes were really big, stunned at the turn of events.
Still with its eyes on Chance, her tail curls up around the half dwarf’s neck and squeezes hard. Naerva’s face starts to turn colors, eyes bulging, mouth open but with nothing coming out (failed her constitution throw).
Fourth time’s a charm, Chance thinks. Again aimed at the Odius’s neck, and again, misses. She barely moved to one side and the blade just zings by. Naerva gives a WTF look, struggling hard trying to breathe. He then jumps back again, keeping out of the range. The glowing man curses under his breath, seeing that the tail that is strangling Naerva, is on the opposite side of her.
When Chance resets himself, the Odius then flings dust at him. The range was pretty far, and it was at a disadvantage. The Champion ducks it, and swings away, airing out the area from the blinding dust. In frustration she just jams her dagger twice into the half dwarf (4hp + 6hp).
In a surprise move, that the Odius was not ready for, Chance with extraordinary skill runs and leaps over the creature, twisting himself. He lands kind of hard against the counter, turns enough towards the creature and brings his sword down striking the tail that has Naerva strangled (5hp). It was just enough to release the half dwarf from the grip.
It hisses, and a weird ticking sound can be heard by Chance now. Her eyes turn to slits and her clawed hand grabs the Champion by the shirt, digging in a little to his skin and she drives her retractable dagger into his chest. In his Champion form, any damage less than 6 does not even make him flinch (5hp).
Chance tries to disengage, but the blood on the ground is making him slip and her grip is far too tight. She makes a battle yell cry and smashes her head flat against the quarter elf’s face. That made him yell and wince, even cough. He sees stars (12hp damage), blood now pouring out his nose (failed constitution save) and he is disorientated, too much he loses his next turn (prone).
Naerva is slowly coming too. But is not quite alert enough.
The Odius, flings more dust into Chance’s eyes, with his disorientation it goes right in and he is now blinded too (failed constitution check). He coughs, eyes tearing up, “What the actual fuck?” She drives her dagger into the Champion again (5hp) blood spurts out a little.
The half dwarf is now alert enough and decided, pain or not, she has to free herself. She has to do it now, before it is too late. She yanks and twirls in the opposite direction the whip wrapped her up in and it breaks free. Her thigh is torn to shreds, spikes in and out and she yells loud in pain (7hp). She stumbles back, still twirling a bit.
This took the creature by surprise. It reaches for the handle that is latched to her belt. The metal whip chains fall to the ground, blood splatters everywhere. The Odius gets the whip set up again quickly and prepares itself for any retaliation.
Meanwhile Chance heals himself (but rolls shit again, 4hp) but the side effect is he is no longer blinded. He tries to stand straight, getting angry and yelling. She still grips him tighter, prone.
Naerva, leans down, grabs her weapon on the ground, rushes the Odius with her rush move. The creature quickly moves to the side and the injured half dwarf flies on by. But not before she skitters to a halt, turns and swings down slicing a bit along her tail and neck (5hp).
With a surge of strength, the Odius grabs the Champion and twirls him so he is now leaning up against the creature. One arm is around him, the other has her dagger pressed up against his neck. With Chance prone, there is not much he can do. The Odius backs up across the narrow shop, and pins herself up against the counter directly below the sword hanging on the wall.
The Champion wants to make a move, but her dagger digs in deeper, and now he can feel her clawed hand digging into his shoulder. Suddenly the tail wraps itself around the man, and squeezes his neck.
When she breathes, there is a weird ticking sound, almost like a cat purring.
Chance can just barely breathe, but he pretends he can’t. The grip on his neck is consistent as he is getting dragged around.
Naerva yells, “Duck!” The half dwarf grabs some daggers on a table in front of her and flings them. The first one misses completely slipping out of her hand and landing 20 feet in the wall. The other, Chance tried to duck. He ended up getting more dagger from the Odius (2hp) and the worst part is Naerva’s dagger lands in his ear, trying to give him an earring (3hp). “Duck? How the hell am I supposed to duck? Ow? Really?” he yells. She looks at him innocently and shrugs her shoulders.
In a quick reaction, the Creature’s tail, with a great force essentially throws Chance forward. With so much force it sends him stumbling forward knocking over a table, bringing him to his knee, coughing and grabbing for his neck. She jumps on the counter, rips the sword off the wall.
Naerva in frustration throws her sword hitting the creature in the shoulder as it turns around. It made the Odius stutter a bit and hiss (5hp). The creature jumps on the floor and skitters for the entrance. It bursts out the door, turns left and starts racing down the road.
The half dwarf could have done something more, but she was just relieved that the creature was leaving.
Turn based starts here
Chance: trying to catch my breath as I look up to Mystmura
DMaster: She is bleeding real good, Wincing a bit she is walking over to you, grabs a towel and is trying to get some of the bleeding to stop.
NAE: Thank you Champ, not sure I could handled that “twat” on my own
She pauses.
NAE: hell, together we didn’t handle that “twat!”
You can see guards rushing past the door, they must of spotted the woman
GUAR: Hey you, there, stop!!
Chance: once I catch my breath I will heal myself up. Grumbling about how much I hate them
Chan: that could have went so much better I think
DMaster: Watches as more guards seem to be congregating in front of her store. Naerva leans over, throws the towel she had over your head, trying to keep your champion form hidden, at least a little bit. She is wincing in pain as the guards rush in.
GUA: Naerva! You ok? What happened?
NAU: Oh, you know, the usual.
She points at the dead ones
NAU: Some rich dick and some Odius wanted the Vulcuran blade
Chance: keeping my head down as she is talking to the guards so as not alert them
DMaster: He grabs the attention of a guard outside,
GUA: Go get a monk or cleric for Naerva.
The guard looks back, then up at the wall with the missing weapon. He snickers as he looks at the half dwarf.
GUA: Wonder how long it will take them to figure it out?
You see her shrug her shoulders, smile softly. Grabbing her leg which was torn up from the battle.
NAU: Each fake gets better and better, they may always think it’s the real one.
GUA: Is he ok?
Points at you.
NAU: Oh, the cha… the charlie guy, yeah he’s fine
she stumbles over her words, taking labored breaths. A guard comes in, whispers something. He nods at her, turns and walks out for a moment.
Chance: Chan: I know I wasn’t of much help in that fight but allow me to do something else.
reach for her hand and take it in mine and close my eyes and heal her
DMaster: She giggles for a minute. You glow a bit, luckily no one saw it (made his stealth check).
DMaster: the guards don’t see you. Her eyes get big and then she breathes better. She looks down, her neck clears up, the wounds are all but gone. Just blood and ripped, torn clothing.
NAE: do whatever you do to change back or whatever
Glancing up, afraid the guards will come back in.
Chance: make sure I am healed up and put the necklace back on and then take the towel off my head
DMaster: By that time you can hear some knocking coming from the back room of the shop. She gives you an odd look and grabs a weapon off her table, heads back.
Chance: I grab the sword that she threw at me and follow behind her. Make sure she has some added help
DMaster: The backroom is a mess, boxes all over, junk here and there. It looks like she lives here as well. A cot with sheets on it, food here and there, debris scattered about. She gets to the door, after climbing over stuff. She opens it. Velencia stands there.
VEL: Are you missing anything?
Naerva is trying to open the door more but the garbage is in the way.
NAE: Yes, well missing being relative. A nasty bitch of an, red faced little, long tailed… oh hell. An Odius.
Velencia, looking like Clara, nods her head. She grabs with both hands and throws a lifeless Odius on the floor of the back room with a big thud. A few boxes go skittering across the floor and debris gets worked up. Naerva’s eyes are big
Chance: my eyes goes wide as I see Velencia and what she did.
DMaster: Velencia looks in and HER eyes go wide, mouth opens.
VEL: Chance, jebus on a fucking cracker, I should of known you had something to do with this!
Chance: Chan: well, hey! It’s what I do.
DMaster: Naerva is looking between the two of you. Velencia walks in, she has a gash on the side of her face, blood trickling down. It is most likely from the Odius.
VEL: Heal me, will you?
Pointing at the injury on her face. Naerva can hear the guards again and she heads out to the floor to intercept. You heal her, and it sends you for a loop. Both of you. It is stronger than Khamyra’s now.
VEL: Fuck, that’s good. Dammit.
She is shaking her head a little, a smile on her face as she traces where the injury once was, only to find blood and no wound.
Chance: Shake head.
Chan: It’s the worst. Such an amazing feeling, then I see you and I go flaccid.
Look back over to Velencia, smirk and put the necklace back on.
DMaster: She looks at you oddly, then angrily. She purses her mouth and almost chuckles, shaking her head. She grabs one of the many rags laying around. She smells it, shrugs her shoulders and wipes the blood off.
VEL: I heard the commotion, glanced out. Was going to walk down but I saw guards coming. Then an Odius came barreling out of this place. Quick thinking, I waved it in. I have quite a few of them working for me all around Legon. Figured maybe I could get her to work for me, if I saved her. So I was waving it in, I tricked it to come into Culluns. It took a grand total of 15 seconds for her to give me a dirty look, and slice me with that goddamn tail. So, I grabbed her, and ate her fucking soul.
She coughs, scrunches her nose
VEL: It was nasty too. Bitter as fuck.
She frowns
Chance: Chan: Man I hate those things, ever since you sent one after the Princess.
Grab the necklace and put it back on and change back
DMaster: VEL: Her tail was pretty long, I don’t remember their tails ever being that long… Bitch gave me a good wack.
she is thinking, shaking her head.
VEL: I am going to head back. Can you not cause anymore shit for the day? Oh and hire that bard will you? I am sure you haven’t done it yet.
She huffs a little and out the back door she goes, climbing over some garbage.
Chance: shrug my shoulders and just give her a dopey grin
Chan: Can’t promise anything, and I am on my way now. Impatient much?
Shaking my head and waiting for Mystmura to come back. Take off the retractable dagger, look it over.
DMaster: after a few, the half dwarf heads back.
NAE: OK, they are gone, for now.
She looks at the body, the fake Vulcuran sword is in the belt of the Odius. She smiles
NAE: Ok, cool. But my favorite other sword, damn. Who was that lady? I have to thank her, maybe pay her some money. How did she kill it I wonder. She did not look like she could kill much of anything. Though she was a bit big.
she has all these questions
Chance: Shake head.
Chan: Honestly, it’s best if you don’t know. Let’s just leave it at that.
DMaster: She smiles a bit. She tells Chance that she usually likes a good tussle, but this was brutal. Chance was given the Bluesteel Bastard sword (75 gp) and a retractable dagger that fits on your wrist (15 gp). You guys part ways. Your shirt is really bloody, has a few holes in it where the dagger went in. blood splatters from the stab and your bloody nose. A few people eye you on the way home.
Chance: This is going to go over like a wet fart in silk panties, thinking to myself as I walk in the house.
DMaster: Cullun is at the table talking with Khamyra and Novalee, recounting the tale of watching Velencia “eat a soul.” They look over, Khamyra’s eyes bulge.
KHA: What the hell happened?
she says somewhat quietly as the kids are asleep, it’s about 1:00 pm.
Chance: I will quietly recall the tale to them as I look down at the shirt
DMaster: Shaking his head.
CULL: That was you making that racket?
He chuckles
CULL: That Odius ran in, Velencia went to talk to it. I think it recognized her or something and it scowled. Slashed her with its tail then it was like a big blur. Velencia is scary; scary and powerful. Weird, it fought her for a minute but our Priestess is way too powerful. Oddly, the room got a little cold too. The creature just fell to the floor, lifeless.
Chance: Chan: hey Mystmura was outnumbered 3 to 1. I had to help! I mean it wasn’t my intent to get into a battle today. All I wanted to do was get some armor maybe and head to Camerondale and hire a damn bard.
DMaster: Khamyra is checking you out
KHA: Our hero. You want to save the damn world.
Pokes her finger through a hole or two.
KHA: Hmmm, stabbed here and here and here, and bloody nose?
Chance: Shake head.
DMaster: You get a clean shirt, clean up. Khamyra likes the Bastard sword you brought home, but more the retractable dagger. Eventually you ride Toby to Camerondale and head into the Castle. As you walk into the castle, they recognize you. The entranceway is jammed with guards, Black Ward and the like. You see Bastian and Captain Harlow talking.
Chance: my eyes get big seeing the Captain and Bastian. A smile goes across my face
DMaster: They see you, walk over and greet you.
Chance: I will give them both a warrior handshake and a look, seeing all the guards
DMaster: Bastian twitches, nods.
BAS: shit’s hitting the horsetail, tons of intel coming in.
Harlow gives him a look, then nods her head
Chance: Chan: Really? Explains the guards, I guess.
just give her a smile
Chan: but if my help is needed for anything just say the word and I am there
DMaster: The Captain smiles, puts her hand on your arm. Just then the double doors open and people start coming out. Agents, scribes and a few familiar faces; Cassie & Xavier. Farther in the throne room you can see the King and Affinity in the throne room talking. The Baroness and Duke walk over to the three of you
HAR: Well?
Cassie nods her head
CASS: It’s a go for all of them, it wasn’t a tough sell.
Xavier sees you, shakes your hand. Cassie gives you a little hug. Harlow and Bastian say goodbye and head out. Xavier leaves and Cassie takes you aside.
Chance: Chan: So this is interesting, Intel on what? Dungeon of gold? Harem of exotic women?
Smiling.
DMaster: She looks at you, like how did you know, then realizes Harlow and Bastian must have told you. She shakes her head.
CASS: No, when we got back from our visit, there was an emergency meeting. Intel has come in on the whereabouts of Wilder, allegedly.
she smiles a little, fidgets for a moment.
CASS: Then, more intel on the whereabouts of Velencia and that weird bird creature.
Then she shakes her head even more, looks at you.
CASS: When was the last time it rained?
Chance: Chan: I don’t even know, really.
DMaster: CASS: Yeah, it’s weird. It hasn’t rained in almost 2 months (each month is 28 days in Legon) now. We are in a drought and no one seems to give a shit. With Bastian’s help, we figure this drought we are in is not natural, or normal for that matter. We have a pretty good idea where this issue is emanating from.
Chance: Chan: do I dare even begin to ask?
DMaster: she rubs her head
CASS: I might be calling in a favor from you and Khamyra.
She gives you a sheepish grin.
Chance: Chan: I figured that would be coming. You know you can count on me anytime.
DMaster: She clenches her jaw for a moment, then smiles back at you.
CASS: Thank you.
Chance: Chan: No, thank you, after that gift you and Affinity gave us.
DMaster: CASS: This drought is the most disturbing, like it masks our thoughts about it. I think if you and Khamyra go on that one, it would be most useful, figuring out how this is happening with her Arcane knowledge.
Chance: Chan: Yeah, she smart, me tough, crack skulls.
giving her a big grin
DMaster: Chuckles, shakes head.
CASS: I think we will move out Monday night. We have way too much else going on right now, and need time to prepare. We want to leave in the veil of night, in case we are getting scouted.
Chance: Chan: I will have to see what Khamyra says but I don’t see it being a problem now that we have someone to watch them.
DMaster: She pauses, sighs, smiles and squeezes your hand.
CASS: I got to get, but let Khamyra know it will be a trip to Breakwater Wharf. I’ll send the details tomorrow
Chance: Squeeze back, say goodbye.
DMaster: she nods and runs off. You get a guard and they get Erikka. Affinity comes over, introduces you to the new Captain of the guard named Titus. You exchange handshakes, move on. Erikka tells you where Karson is. After thanking her and giving her and Affinity a hug, you get to his house. You hire him for Monday, making sure he knows that a woman named Clara will pay for his services.
Chance: When I get back, pen up Toby. Make my way inside and look for Khamyra.
DMaster: Upon walking in, you see Velencia, Rawek and Cullun with Novie at the table. They are all sipping on some wine, looking proud of themselves. Velencia has her feet up, disguise is off, in full relax mode. Cullun looks exhausted, he is enjoying his wine though
Chance: Chan: just grand, make yourselves at home.
shaking my head
DMaster: VEL: I will chump
She takes another sip.
Chance: Chan: might I suggest you two lay low for awhile
pointing at both her and Rawek
DMaster: She glances over to you, looks around.
VEL: Who are you pointing to, asshat?
Chance: Chan: Well, I just got back from Camerondale and both of you were a topic of conversation. They have intel on you and our bird friend here.
Explain as much as I can to them from what I know
DMaster: VEL: Oh, they are coming after us now?
She looks over to Rawek, and he glances at her, nods… chirps.
Chance: Chan: hell if I know. They have other things to worry about too.
DMaster: They look back to you.
VEL: If they want us, then they better bring it. We will declare war on them, and raise hell… literally.
The bird turns his eyes to slits, as much as a bird can smirk.
RAW: Chirp!
