DMaster: You are working in a room in the Inn. The rooms are very ornate. you also see another trap door in the other large room. You can hear noise coming from it.
Chance: Going to check it out, listen and see if I can figure out the sounds.
DMaster: The door is supposed to be secret, and it would be for most people. but you spotted a few things that tipped you off. It is on the south wall, right in the middle. You can see just the smallest sliver running from the floor to the ceiling. You essentially put your ear to the door, it sounds like someone moving around… You look around to see how to open it and finally figure it isn’t at the door seam.
Chance: yeah, I am going to figure it out, I would like to know. Looking for some type of lever or trigger mechanism. Wait a minute, the plans that guy couldn’t figure out, thinking to myself. I bet it’s the lantern. I will check the lantern out see if it turns or twists
DMaster: Walking over to the wall lantern you notice subtle differences with it. There is what appears to be a handle hidden behind the actual lantern part.
Chance: Pull the handle slowly and carefully.
DMaster: it takes a bit but the door pops open slightly
Chance: Walk over, open the door a bit more, slowly poke my head towards the open door.
DMaster: You open the door slightly. It is dimly lit, only some light shining from the bottom. It is a 5’x 5′ room with a ladder bolted to the far wall leading up and down. A man is working on some kind of contraption at the bottom. He notices you above him.
MAN: Hey, what the!?
Chance: Chan: I am sorry I heard a noise, was curious where it was coming from
DMaster: MAN: How did you know how to open this?
Chance: Chan: Long story, I wont say a word I promise…
DMaster: You notice its the same guy who saw you earlier.
MAN:Oh you’re the kid with Britney… oh…
Chance: Chan:I will leave you to your work
I will just close this door back up, smirking.
DMaster: You close the door and move on. It is past “sunset” which means after 7:30PM (The world is actually based on a 28 hour cycle but it is too confusing, so we keep it at 24 hours).
Chance: technically it was my day off, but just in case, I will check with Corine.
DMaster: COR: Hey chance, great work today! I think we’re good for the night, appreciate all the extra help!
She says, smiles wide knowing the next day or two will be much easier now.
Chance: Chan: You are welcome, anytime. Have a good night
I am gonna leave the inn and go take a walk down by the beach
DMaster: CORINE: Yes you too Chance.
She was at the desk, you notice it appears she is getting ready to leave as the night manager arrives.
Chance: Head out of the inn and head down to the beach smiling to myself as I leave
DMaster: The sky still burns a violet flare, the winds are very warm as the palm trees blow back and forth. You can hear the crashing of the waves along the beach and some seagulls in the distance.
Chance: head to the main beach and take a long walk down it, go sit on the beach and look out at the water and just relax a little. take my shoes off and let my feet sit in the sand and wonder what’s beyond all that water. Then head back after about an hour.
DMaster: The bay shimmers with the violet blue color as the sunset begins to fade. Down farther, some visitors in and out of the water. You know where it is a bit more private so where you, there are not many people. As you get up, you notice two people walking towards you.
Behind the Scenes
Shanna is slowly pouring a liquid into a vial that has an odd green goop sitting at the bottom. Her hand is steady, one on the other vial, the other tracing the words in the book she is referring too. A few drips and it starts to smolder. She grabs the cork and it goes flying across the room accidentally.
“DAMMIT!” she yells.
Ursala jumps off her bed and runs to the cork. She throws it to Shanna who grabs it and caps the vial quickly. Shanna turns, eyes wide and a big smile. “Urs, you just saved my experiment!” she says standing up.
The raven haired girl just shrugs her shoulders. She is lost, depressed and her life in turmoil. Her father was hired by some mysterious man from the Summer Isle one day, the very next day the house was overrun with workers packing everything up. ‘Barely had time to say goodbye to everyone’ she thinks to herself, ‘I miss them so much.’ Swallowing her emotions again she smiles at Shanna. Ursala has longer straight black hair, soft light blue eyes, a cute heart shaped face. She has always been active so she is in shape, maybe a little tighter than usual since all the work with the move over the last week.
Shanna raises her eyebrow sensing the girls turmoil, “I know I had to move once too, it was a long time ago, but you will get used to the area, make new friends and… not sweat buckets” she says musing a bit. “Come on, let me go treat us with the Isles best kept secret, its called fun ice!”
Shanna grabs her pouch. The blonde girl seemed to always be behind the eight ball since the day she was born, but to her credit, she is making the best of it. Her parents got pregnant almost immediately after Ferellus and they were not really wanting another child. They love her dearly but there has always been an underlying feeling with the family, unintentionally. Shanna is an overachiever because of it, always looking for approval and acceptance. It has haunted her and it is something that she struggles with daily. She is beyond her years in alchemy and the local small school she was the smartest kid by far. But her looks do her no favors, blonde hair, blue eyes, perfect skin and very large breasts. Growing up she has learned to use them, but many times she is just oblivious to them. ‘No one will ever know the real Shanna’ she always tells herself, ‘at least not until it’s too late.’
The two of them head out of her room, “Mom, I have my experiment going in there, so don’t go in there and knock it over or anything” Shanna says, making a bee-line to the front door with Ursala.
“Honey, wait” her mother says, getting her to stop, “I have not heard from your brother almost all day, he missed dinner too” she says with a bit of worry in her voice, and that alerts Shanna. “Could you have a look around or find Chance?”
She sighs knowing her goofy brother always finds himself in trouble nowadays. She looks at Ursala who just shrugs her shoulders.
“OK, I’ll go take a quick look around.” she says as she opens the front door and heads out.
Chance: See who it is
DMaster: A blonde girl, with a skin tight, practically see through shirt on, short flowing skirt and some cute sandals. Her skin is tanned nicely, she has a heart shaped face, big baby blue eyes. She has curves on curves, while walking her breasts bounce pretty intensely. You recognize her as Ferellus’s sister. She is accompanied by a raven haired girl.
SHA: Hey Chance, have you seen my dorky brother?
Chance: Chan: Not since earlier Shanna, why?
DMaster: SHA: Oh mom wants him home. He missed dinner and she is getting a little worried.
Chance: Trying not to look at her boobs.
Chance: Do you want me to help you find him?
DMaster: Looking around and back to you, she shrugs her shoulders.
SHA: Sure, anything to expedite this chore. Why am I always traipsing after him?
Shanna looks over to the girl next to her. She has soft light blue eyes, dark hair and a heart shaped face. She has a nice figure, has a light blouse on, some shorts and strappy shoes. The look on her face tells Chance she is shy and not too sure of herself.
SHA: Oh, this is my friend Ursula.
Chance: Chan: Hello Ursula, pleasure to meet you.
Smile at her then look at Shanna’s face, nowhere else.
Chan: So where do we start?
DMaster: Ursala smiles and looks across the vast beach
SHA: Where do we start? That is why I am asking you, I really don’t know, you two are peas in a pod I swear.
She is shaking her head.
Chance: looking at her, her face, her eyes. Then smirk
Chance: well come on fair ladies, we shall find this missing person
DMaster: Shanna stops almost disgusted, looks at you oddly.
SHA: Sure thing, you dork
Ursala smiles for the first time and looks at you. She seemed to like the sediment. You three head down the northern path across the beach, better known as the boardwalk
SHA: Where do you guys hang out?
Chance: Chan: The beach here on the boardwalk and a few places not fit for you ladies
DMaster: SHA: Well, its a fit for us now, I want to find Ferellus, so I can go back home and finish my work
Both girls look around. Visitors pass by, no one of interest, a guard is doing his rounds
SHA: Should you ask a guard?
Chance: Chan: Yeah, you should, you will get much better response than I ever could.
Look around innocent.
DMaster: Shaking her head, sighing. Shanna beckons the guard, he walks over. Once he gets to the light he notices what she is wearing and snaps his head up. It is not totally unusual being a tropical location, it just throws some people at first.
GUA: Ummm, Yes?
SHA: Have you seen my brother Ferellus?
He then finally looks back at her, squints his eyes.
GUA: You are Shanna right? I am not sure who your brother is.
SHA: Oh sorry, he has dark hair, fairly well built, about this high, dark hair, probably wearing some goofy outfit and hangs out with this dork here
She thumbs the direction to you.
Chance: Chan: Uh, yeah me. Dork here.
knowing the description of what he is wearing is not going to help, he is most likely still in his adventuring gear.
DMaster: The guard looks at you, squinting his eyes thinking he might know you. Then shakes his head.
GUA: No, can’t say I have seen him but then again I wasn’t looking, I will keep an eye out for you though.
She nods and looks over to the both of you.
Chance: Chan: Thank you for your time.
Look at the two girls.
Cha: Let’s make a sweep, check a few alley ways, a few places we like to hang
DMaster: SHA: Let’s do this already, jebus.
She says with some frustration. So you visit the knife shop, the game room, the back end beach that no one really visits and no Ferellus
Chance: Chan: I am sure he will be home when you get there.
Shrug my shoulders a bit.
Chan: Other than this I am not sure where he would be, he said he would see me later but that was hours ago
DMaster: Shanna looking worries nods her head.
SHA:ok, well thanks for your help.
She turns to Ursala.
SHA: Sorry, not exactly an exciting day here on the isles…
Chance: I will head back toward the inn
DMaster: The sky has turned almost completely dark and the stars are shining bright, only the large moon is visible next to the extinct volcano to the south. You walk down the boardwalk back to your apartment or the inn. You are walking and you see someone a bit odd, different from the rest, and as she passes you you can smell incense. Then it hits you, the woman from the compound. She just passed you walking in the opposite direction.
Chance: Keep walking not to look suspicious. I got a bad feeling, try not to be obvious that I am checking her out
DMaster: she has changed, she is in a longer black flowing top with long sleeves, she has a short hood on, not really hiding anything and looks per-occupied.
Chance: well wait for her to walk by and then turn and walk, but keep my distance so she doesn’t notice I am following her
DMaster: The woman walks down the boardwalk for 100 yards, then heads towards a shop on the east side of the boardwalk.
Chance: follow but leave some distance between us, so not to be obvious
DMaster: She walks to a warehouse you never really noticed before, down an alley and knocks on the door. Your dark vision kicks in and you see a man with a robe, face covered, opens the door for her, she slips in and the door is shut after her. The smell of fish wafts into your nose.
Chance: Cough quietly, wave my hand in front of my face. Tastes like chicken. Hmm, this isn’t right I better get out of here before I am noticed, head back to my apartment.
DMaster: It is roughly high moon, almost midnight. You turn around and head back down the boardwalk. You get to your apartment without incident. The entry way is empty except for someone at the desk. You smile as you go past, she looks up and smiles back, then goes back to what she was doing. You walk the stairs until you reach the attic area. unlock the door. It’s dark and quiet. You get ready and go to bed. After a few minutes of thinking, you eventually doze off.
Next Day
DMaster: You open your eyes and you see your mother shaking you. Some light is shining through the window.
Chance: mom, just a few more minutes please
JOS: No, Helynne is here for you, said its urgent
she walks out of the room, closes the door behind her, you can hear Helynne in the living room
Chance: Chan: huh? Okay, let me get up and get dressed
Get up, get dressed fast and go out in the living room.
Chan: Helynne what is the urgent matter?
DMaster: HEL: Chance, sorry to barge in, but we have a situation. When was the last time you saw Ferellus?
Chance: Chan: Yesterday, he said he would see me later and that was the last I saw of him, why what’s wrong?
DMaster: HEL: Yesterday? Well, he is missing, he never went home last night, Ferellus’s mom came to the main guard house this morning in a frantic panic, along with his father.
Chance: Chan: I had a gut feeling something was wrong. Can we go somewhere private and talk?
DMaster: Helynne takes a deep breath, eyes you up suspiciously and motions to the hallway. She tells the guard she is with to stay where he is at. You are now alone with Helynne in the hallway, door closed.
Chance: Chan: Last night I helped Shanna search for Ferellus. Well, you remember our little episode at the caves I told you about?
DMaster: Helynne crosses her arms and glares at you.
HEL: Yes?
Chance: Chan: Last night I saw one of the people from down in that sanctuary. So I followed her to some warehouse.
DMaster: She starts to shake her head a bit.
HEL: Ok, I hope this is leading us somewhere.
Chance: Chan: This building I feel shouldn’t have been open but she just walked in. Some guy or person wearing robes opened a door in the back of the warehouse for her. I was careful not to be seen, then I hightailed it back here.
DMaster: Helynne is looking at you, tilts her head.
HEL: And…?
Chance: Chan: I am wondering if maybe they have a hand in his disappearance. Put all the facts together Helynne.
DMaster: Staring at you, blinking her eyes as her mind tries to wrap around what you just said. Then she scoffs.
HEL: Facts? What facts? Did this people do something to you that you are not telling me about? You are not making sense.
Chance: Chan: Well, I mean… uhh.
Looking down.
DMaster: Are you sleepwalking or something? I had a glass of ale last night, but it doesn’t tell me where Ferellus is… We need to know when you saw him last and where he might be.
Chance: Chan: last time I saw him was shortly after you gave us an earful and sent us on our way. He said he would see me later.
DMaster: Getting a little frustrated now.
HEL: So that is the last time you saw him? As I recall you wanted to visit Morty or Britney for some reason.
Chance: Dammit, I guess I’ll have to add Britney to the conversation. Shit.
Chance: Yeah, we talked with Britney, and then he left the Inn. Past high Sun.
DMaster: She is slowly shaking her head.
HEL: What the hell Chance, thanks, I think. That was painful. Not sure what hooded people had to do with it. I’ll let you know if we need more info.
She knocks on the door to alert the guard, turns and walks down the hallway, you hear her say “Let’s find Britney, to see if we can get more info”
Chance: smack my head. Britney is gonna kill me. I walk back inside
Chance: I am sorry about that mom
DMaster: JOS: it’s ok, what is going on, is Ferrellus ok?
Chance: Chan: I am not sure, he is missing. He didn’t go home last night
DMaster: JOS: (looks at you wide eyed) what? did he say he was going to be gone or anything
Chance: Chan: No he didn’t. He said he would see me later yesterday but I worked until around 9. Then took a walk on the beach, ran into Shanna and tried to help her find Ferellus
DMaster: JOS: Maybe you should go look for him too!
Chance: Chan: I need to talk to Britney first. I will be back and then I will go look for him.
DMaster: JOS: I have to get to work, I’ll be on the first floor if you need me
She putters off down the hallway passing you by… she heads for the staircase
Chance: I will head out and go see if I can find Britney.
DMaster: You close the door, lock it. You head down the stairs only to find Britney storming up them.
Chance: Swallow hard.
Chance: I was just coming to see you, uhhh We need to talk.
DMaster: Britney skids to a halt in front of you, with a scowl on her face. Eyes just ripping through you.
BRIT: You think?! What the hell is going on?! I don’t need this right now, we are under a deadline and I have the Summer Isle Guards crawling all over this place!
Hands flailing a bit, then resting on her hips.
Chance: Chan: Ferellus is missing. I have no clue where he is but… I think it is tied into what you told me not to talk about
DMaster: BRIT: Yeah, I was afraid of that.
She takes a deep sigh.
BRIT: This can’t be good. Did anyone see you two down in the dungeons?
Britney puts her hands back on her hips, glares at you.
Chance: Chan: Helynne caught us, but we were nowhere near the entrance. But I am pretty sure no one did, otherwise I think we would of been chased.
DMaster: After a long moment, she is staring at the floor, obviously in deep thought.
BRIT: Meet me down at the entrance to the Inn in five minutes, pack your gear, act like you are going to meet with Mortimer
Brit storms off down the stairway
Chance: Oh boy, run back into my apartment and pack what I have too.
DMaster: You head to your apartment, grab your gear, throw it in a bag. Head down to the entrance. Britney is at the front desk speaking with a worker and Corine. Looking over to you.
BRIT: I’ll be right there
After speaking with her, she walks over holding a sack and a wooden pole of sorts.
BRIT: Let’s go, pain in the ass.
Chance: Follow Britney trying to look innocent.
DMaster: It is a typical gorgeous day out, low 80’s, light breeze and not a cloud in the sky. You two head south towards the cave you and Ferellus were in, but you are walking past it. She is looking around to make sure no one is there.
Chance: Chan: just what are we gonna do Britney?
DMaster: BRIT: I had to lie to Corinne and Helynne, Chance. I can’t sit by when Ferellus is missing knowing what we know. If there is even the slightest Chance, “they” have him.
Looking and satisfied no one is around.
BRIT: I have lived here far too long not to know a few things, there is a mysterious entrance to a place no one has gone into for some time… hopefully. it’s something that most of the hotel owners know about. I never really thought about it until now.
Chance: Chan: Boy did me and Ferellus open a can of worms
Keep following her
DMaster: BRIT: You are damn right!
Grumbling and pulls up her sack a bit more around her shoulders.
Chance: Chan: I am sorry, I didn’t mean to disrupt things like this
Looking down a bit
DMaster: She shakes her head hearing you. Britney is leading you a bit further, then stop at some brush. There was a lot to choose from, tons of bushes and palm trees. You see the small lake where a few of the Hotels use. There are roughly 30 people all around laying on sand, enjoying the weather.
BRIT: We are going to sneak through the bushes to the east side of the lake, where the waterfalls are. That is where the entrance is, it’s heavily covered by brush, trees and water.
Chance: Chan:and that is the plan? (quietly) okay then what? Surely you don’t mean we are going in there, just the two of us
DMaster: BRIT: Yes, just the two of us.
Gives you a sharp look.
BRIT: NOW, you want to pussy out? What the hell Chance.
She hisses, shaking her head.
BRIT: This could be nothing, it could lead to an empty cave, or a lair of an animal, or your dumbass friend Ferellus. I heard many times that there has been activity of sorts here.
Chance: Chan: OK. I guess we are gonna find out one way or the other.
I will quietly follow behind her
DMaster: BRIT: Come on…
She squats and starts slowly making her way by the brush, deceptively quiet. You two get to the waterfall area, it has some heavy brush and a wooden fence that warns not to walk any further. She scans the area and quickly climbs over the fence.
BRIT: Watch your step here, it can get loose
Chance: Chance: Like a ho bag.
I will carefully climb the fence and watch my step carefully as I follow her
DMaster: BRIT: Like a… what? Chance! (she says in low tones)
You two slip into a cave entrance hidden quite well by the brush. The cave is dark with a few rays of light shining through the brush, it’s cooler but wet. Movement echoes a bit, but the two of you are pretty quiet.
Chance: Chan: I think we should get our gear on before we go any further. Of course you’re the leader of this operation since you have more experience than I do.
DMaster: She stops and opens her pack, glances at you annoyed.
BRIT: Good idea.
Britney puts on what seems to be some kind of scaled leather armor, greeves and gauntlets… She opens the wooden pole and out comes two smaller swords and sheaths them in her belt.
Chance: I will open my pack up and put on my leather armor, gloves and get my scabbards out for my sword and dagger. Then sheath them to my belt
Chan: Britney…
DMaster: She is double checking herself and looks at you.
BRIT: Uh yeah?
Chance: Chan: You smell incredible…
Giving her those eyes.
DMaster: Her jaw drops a bit, looking blankly at you. She softly giggles and shakes her head.
BRIT: Wha… what the hell. Only you would have a boner right now.
She says to herself really. The blonde woman lights a small wrist lantern, puts it on her wrist and she starts moving in
Chance: Realizing I probably shouldn’t have said that, and also realizing there is a lot more to Britney than I first realized… follow behind her
DMaster: BRIT: If this is the entrance, then no one has gone through here recently
She wipes a few cobwebs away
Chance: Chan: but that’s what it looked like in the cave till we got further down in the sanctuary
DMaster: BRIT: Hmm, well they have to get in and out somewhere, but…
She crouches and slowly rubs her hand on the ground
BRIT: I have not seen any tracks, dust seems to be from a few good weeks.
She stands up and slowly moves forward. You follow her. The cave dips down a bit, and you two crouch
Chance: keeping my senses sharp for any noise besides us
DMaster: Then the cave opens up again and it leads to a wall. The ceiling of the cave now extends a good 25 feet. There is a door on the wall roughly 8 feet up in height, almost un-accessible. looks to be made of iron. Britney slowly looks up and her eyes bulge a little.
BRIT: What the hell…
There is also a door to the north and south of you, ground level
Chance: Chan: and just how do you propose we get to that door? Better yet, how does ANYONE get to that door (quietly)
Looking to see if I can see any tracks from either of the way the doors are.
DMaster: Not that you can tell.. Brit does the same thing, leans down looks and runs her hand across the damp mossy flooring
BRIT: Nothing for at least weeks. I did not know what to expect.
She looks at both ground floor doors.
BRIT: Not sure this has anything to do with this sanctuary, but what else can it be?
Chance: Chan: your guess is as good as mine.
Look across the walls, see if I can see anything.
Chan: So which door do we take?
DMaster: BRIT: (looks around) I am not sure of either.
She points you to the northern door and she walks to the southern.
BRIT: Listen to them.
Chance: Walk over quietly, I will listen at the door
DMaster: You do not hear anything, and Britney seems to have come to the same conclusion.
BRIT: I don’t hear anything.
Chance: Chan: Me either. I am going with my gut here but I think we should take this door
Point at the one I am at.
DMaster: Britney stops listening and walks over to the door. She gives you a look.
BRIT: Well, see if it opens
The door is open and slowly it swings wide. Looks to be a small closet, has a broken wooden bucket in it and some wood splinters, nothing more
Chance: Chan: guess we go south then, I am hungry so my gut is off, ya know?
Smirking a little
DMaster: BRIT: (rolls her eyes) Remind me never to go with your gut.
She walks over to the other door. She tries it and it is locked
Chance: Chan: allow me
I will grab my thieves picks out of my pack and try to pick the lock
DMaster: BRIT: eh? what are you… doing… Oh, that’s really nice Chance.
She crosses her arms, shaking her head.
BRIT: When did you learn how to… never mind, I don’t want to know.
Chance: Try picking the lock
DMaster: *ping* the door slowly swings open
Chance: put my picks away
DMaster: It appears there is a short hallway ahead, it ends in darkness
Chance: Chan: After you Britney
DMaster: She shakes her head.
BRIT: What are we doing? I hope this has something to do with this, otherwise we are losing precious time
Chance: Chan: well neither of us is sure. Do you really want to turn back now?
DMaster: She shakes her head and in a semi crouch heads in. She unsheathes both her small swords quietly and moves slowly. The lanterns reflect cobwebs, and shadows in front. The dungeon corridor seems damp, moldy and stagnant. Britney stops.
BRIT: Looks like a stairway down
Britney wipes the cobwebs away and heads down the steps
Chance: I will unsheathe my sword and semi crouch position and follow her, keeping my senses sharp. slowly follow behind her
DMaster: You two get to the bottom and move forward, the corridor widens a bit, looks like it was crudely widened. still some brick pieces and stuff on the ground with tons of cobwebs and dust
BRIT: Might as well see what’s ahead (she whispers)
you two keep moving forward. She stops suddenly and you run into her. She glances back.
BRIT: Quit getting a cheap feel
She says quietly, half joking half annoyed.
Chance: Chan: Sorry, couldn’t resist your sweet ass. (quietly)
slowly follow behind Britney
DMaster: She shakes her head. The hallway leads to double doors. somewhat like it did in the first cave.
Chance: draw my dagger in my left hand keeping sword in my right hand, listen and see if I can hear any noises
DMaster: BRIT: I don’t hear anything
Checks the doors and they are locked
BRIT: Alright you delinquent, time to do your thing.
Chance: I will pull out my thieves picks and see if I can pick the lock
Chance: watch my back while I work on this
check for any traps first
DMaster: You do not find any traps. The lock seems to be difficult. your first two attempts failed
BRIT: If you can do it, that’s fine we’ll just head back
Chance: Chan: No door is going to stop me. Let me try one more time
DMaster: She scoffs a little and crosses her arms. *ping* the lock springs and the door opens
Chance: Give her a look and wink.
Chance: lead on
DMaster: She walks on, in the same crouched position.
BRIT: I think I am going to have to visit you in the dungeons more time than not
Shaking her head again. You notice right away that the floors are clean, no cobwebs and there is light farther down the corridor.
BRIT: Shit.
Chance: put thieves’ picks away. Then draw my sword & dagger and follow her
Chance: see what I mean?(whispering)
Pointing down the corridor.
DMaster: She doesn’t seem to hear you as she walks farther. The corridor looks like it opens into a room. The south wall is still there, it just opens north. A dim light shines in the area. You are keeping your senses sharp. You two reach the edge of the corridor where the room opens up towards the north. A room roughly 20X20, one small lantern on the far north wall, 6 beds. Some sort of nightstands and chests as well. It looks like two of the beds are occupied, curled up under covers.
Chance: follow Britney’s lead
DMaster: Britney pauses a moment, looks back at you concerned, then keeps creeping through. There is a door on the north wall next to the lantern that is closed. Follow quietly behind on the west wall is another corridor, aligned with the south wall that is where Britney is going towards. You two enter the corridor, and another weird little lantern is on the wall. You see six doors, three on each side, roughly 20 feet apart from each other. As far as you can see it looks like the corridor ends or turns north at the end.
Chance: wait to see what Britney does
DMaster: She is slowly keep going
Chance: then I will slowly keep going keeping my senses sharp
DMaster: You two go by the doors, and reach the end of the corridor, it heads north. Britney points north and you head down the corridor. It continues but there are double doors on the west wall. You follow her. She checks the doors, they are locked, she points at the locks
Chance: give her a thumbs up sign get my picks out and check for traps first
DMaster: no traps and you pick the lock. *Ping* The door swings open and it is a circular room. tapestries on the wall, alter to the south, markings on the ground, an opening on the far wall, this looks familiar.
Chance: put my picks away, pick up my sword and dagger; follow Britney
DMaster: She walks to the middle of the room, crouches and looks at the symbols on the ground, it’s the same symbol you see on the medallion and some circles and boxes. The Altar has brand new candles on it from before.
Chance: look at Britney’s reaction
DMaster: Britney looks like she is thinking – rubbing her hand on one of the grooves of the symbol
Chance: Chan: I have been here before (whispering)
DMaster: Britney looks at you and then looks around.
BRIT: This is horrific. (whispering) Never thought we would see this again. I don’t know if this has anything to do with Ferellus disappearing
Chance: stay sharp and keep looking around
Chance: but what if it does(whispering) remember the necklace, he might have tried to return it.
DMaster: Britney slowly walks over to the altar and grabs something. She walks over to you, looks at you with bulging eyes
BRIT: I think this is the same medallion! (quietly hissing) You might be right, he came back in to return it… what a dumbass!
Chance: Chan: (shrug) Ferellus said he was gonna hide it (whispering) I got a bad feeling about this
DMaster: She crouches back down, trying to get the medallion to stop swaying and it starts to glow. She drops it immediately
BRIT:What. The. Fuck!
Chance: Chan: I think we should get out of here (whispering)
DMaster: A flash of light and you don’t seem to be in the room you were just in. You are looking across a large room, fog filtering in and has a deep peaceful blue color. Then reality rushes into you, the room you and Britney were in comes back. Looking down, your body had a soft glow to it, and you are unsure why. The medallion falls to the ground, and instantaneously the symbol on the floor glows a deep orange like red… the boxes and circles vibrate with a pulsating white light
Chance: Look around eyes wide
Chance: Shit, not good.
DMaster: Britney looks at you and nods in agreement. She grabs the medallion and throws it with precision against the wall and lands on the Altar. Both of you head for the opening on the west wall that leads to the ladder to the trap door. Britney flies up the ladder to find the door won’t open, it’s locked from the outside. By the rattling noise, it is chained.
Chance: Chan: Helynne must have chained it, or someone else. She sure is efficient isn’t she.
DMaster: Britney looks back at you
BRIT: You think?!
She shakes her head. The light from the glowing floor reflects across the corridor making for a surreal light show.
Chance: Chan: we need to get out of here now (whispering) before we get caught
DMaster: You hear noises coming from the sanctuary a door opening and people talking
BRIT: To think, I woke up with a smile on my face today.
